Justin Forsett - Thank You!

Don't really understand the need for Rice comparisons at this point but thanks Justin! Hopefully we can keep him as our #2 back for a couple years while we groom a young workhorse a la Leveon Bell.

He is the definition of a system back. he was a master of the system and fit right in. Might not work with Trestman's plans.

Yeah he's definitely a system back but he's good as a pass protector and that's huge. He's also got good vision and hands, so he's worth bringing back just not for a lot of money.

What makes Forsett a better back than Rice is one thing: Willpower. Forsett isn't a big dude, but he's always churning those legs. He's always churning. He's a great blocker for a little guy too. Why? Because he actually tries. I don't actually think Rice ever tried to block. Forsett has the balls to throw a block. I love that.

His pass protection and vision are very good.

Justin did an awesome job and bailed us out in many regards because, for whatever reason, Pierce didn't look sharp and Taliaferro was so young - did very well but also got hurt.

His 4th quarter stats were outstanding - 6.0 ypc, 24 1st downs, a number of big runs... That definitely won us some games. The re-signing game is tricky because yes, he's an awesome player and person BUT he's right on that cliff of "old running back", he turns 30 in October. Granted, he's very low mileage.

I'm just glad I don't have to make the decision. I'm torn. He's getting his money one way or another - he more than earned it.

But, for now, thank you Justin! Our season would've been a lot different without you.
