Merged: Brandon Marshall reportedly being traded to the Jets

I think it seems nearly certain that the Bears want to move on from Marshall, some of the Bears vets say they wouldn't be upset if he got cut....Kinda worries me...

I think the talk is obviously way premature, and I'm not exactly sure why there's an entire topic devoted to him.

I don't see him as a Raven either, because I think the Bears keep him.

Bears should keep him and his personality would not meld on a Ravens team due to his "me first" attitude. I think we draft a talented WR.  I hope we have a shot for Jaelon Strong from Arizona State. .

I believe we do for now. To be quiet honest there are plenty of guys I think will go ahead of him. Amari Cooper, DeVante Parker, Kevin White, and Devin Smith. Shoot, there's talks on Perryman being a first rounder, he could jump Strong with a great showing at the combine.

keeping Torrey and drafting strong with Steve in the slot and possibly Duke Job son out of the backfield, this passing game could reach new heights

It's a known fact that Marshall has a bipolar disorder. He's openly discussed his condition and he's following doctor's advice to control it. He's very active in the community and if his character issues were a problem, I don't think the NFL would allow him to co-host "Inside The NFL". I personally don't think character issues would be a problem if he joined the Ravens. We've all seen Bolden (as a Raven) get ticked off on the sidelines bc he wanted to motivate the squad to win. I see that fiery passion in Marshall as well. Being passionate about winning and character issues are not one in the same.

Publicly calling out team mates by name after a loss and questioning their desire/effort I hardly call being reformed or simply passion.

He was just doing this last season.

He is what we need.  All with you

With a great draft pick and Aiken/Brown we have some real talent.

Pollard definitely set a tone for us ... much similar to what Chancellor does for SEA. One thing I don't miss is those unnecessary roughing/illegal hit flags that seemingly happened every game.

Majority of those were reputation flags

I think the consensus is that Baltimore will land Marshall if he is cut. Oh, I can only hope

I think that consensus is almost strictly limited to Ravens fans. I'm not sure the rest of the league thinks that's the consensus.

I've seen just analysts around the web. BleacherReport.com posts all their links to every article that even mentions the Ravens, regardless of area, and most people seem to think Marshall will come to Baltimore, mostly because of Trestman and Flacco.

Don't forget the "Harbaugh connection." I'm not sure how likely it is to happen, but it would be neat if it did. Wouldn't want to give up a draft pick, though.

I could stand giving up a later round draft pick, like a third or later, but nothing higher

I really think it would be a win/win situation all the way around for Trestman/ Flacco/Marshall/and us fans!lol Trestman will have a big influence on B.marshall coming here. Just think.... Trestman would be a lil more confident to excel here in his 1st year as OC with Marshall here. I figure if our FO could afford to offer Torrey 5yr/$35mil earlier this season, we could offer marshall the same type of contract. I think Marshall's salary last year was $7.5mil, plus he had a down year with injuries? Wouldn't expect him to come and expect more then $8mil a year? Who knows, I'm just thinking out loud.lol Imagine us letting Torrey walk, picking up Marshall! Also drafting Jalen Strong or Devin smith.... Wow that would be pretty nice for Flacco!

Initially I liked the idea of Marshall joining the Ravens, but now I'm against it. I would like the Ravens to draft a young WR talent instead of an aging stop gap.

You're wrong.I've seen articles on a few different websites link us to Marshall if he gets cut.

Here are two right here.

Most likely if we draft a young WR, he will not make an immediate impact and thats to even say if the Ravens FO get it right, considering our past with WR picks.  Marshall would come in and completely change others game plans for us.  I think people are over-reacting to the SSS and Marshall in the locker room problem.  Joe has never really had a legit WR like Marshall, Q was amazing but Marshall is on another level and i have no doubt it would be his best year.

I suspect if we get Marshall we will see something happen similar to SSR. Where he sees better numbers with Flacco than he has most of his career. But, that's only in the fantasy where we land him. Still praying for that part

I said the rest of the league, not the rest of beatwriters who speculate the exact same level as fanboard people do.

I could post the same articles about how we are "favorites" to land Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, or a half dozen other players that we almost certainly won't land.

And I'd consider landing one of those guys actually more realistic at this point, because at least they are FAs at the moment.

I'd actually be curious to see any reputable or major site (Bleacher Report, NFL, ESPN) link the Ravens as favorites for Demaryius or Julius Thomas

If you tried hard enough, you could probably find a bleacher report that promises the Ravens trade for Adrian Peterson lol

I know everyone hates on BR for not being the best with their evaluations of all NFL teams, but they aren't ridiculous, usually

Not the only reason. Don't remember the exact player/scenario but BleacherReport took speculation from posters on this site and published it as "trade rumors".
