Brady to Ravens: 'Study the rule book and figure it out'

610 posts in this topic

Just rewatched his hissy fits to the refs @ replay.  Incredibly how ref doesn't even flinch.  Exception to the rule.  Its ridiculous..

Actually, if you are here whining about it then you DONT know the rule. If you want to blame the refs, fine, but you can not blame the Pats, and again, if Harbaugh did the same thing you would be viciously defending it......so let it go. And what about the people here actually complaining the the Pats used a trick play and saying thats the only way they could win..really??????  If I go through Ravens archives, will i EVER find a flea-flicker?? And if I do, will i find a post on here saying the ravens need to resort to such plays???

Flacco proved He's a better quarterback than Brady. Brady isn't Tom Terrific as they say. He's on a terrific team. I'd say he has about the same skill as Carson Palmer except that Palmer has a much better personality.

Legal or not, Darth Beli and Mr Bündchen, just seem to get the advantage. Like that non-hold call/WWE takedown of Jernigan by the Pats' center on Tomalina's TD scramble. Couldn't miss it, crazy how the refs did. They'll run over the Colts but the Seahawks will do to them like they did to DEN last year.

Pretty terrible display of sportsmanship, both during the game (hissy fits to the refs, deceptive tactics that were deemed inappropriate when the refs realized what was going on) and afterward when he made over the top snarky comments (after a win, mind you). There is no defense for it, yet Pats fans turn the other way. Expect a rule change next year. They proved one thing: they couldn't line up toe-to-toe and beat this Ravens team straight up. I look forward to their pending loss.

I figure the Pats fans are descending to troll here because they know they'll only have a week or two more to do it.

Patriots will mop the floor with the Colts. I know that upsets happen, but the Patriots are easily the most complete team in the NFL. Yes, even better than the Seahawks if you ask me. The Patriots, right now, are my predicted champs. They'll slaughter the Colts, and I think they're better than the Seahawks, by a hair. Packers present the best matchup against the Patriots.

It took Gronk, both Julian and Amadola, plus some trick plays with little reaction time to beat a team whose defensive backfield matched swiss cheese due to injuries. Good job for you Brady. For his sake, he better retire like Manning is planning to because if not, once we reload on defense, its going to get real ugly next time we see NE. Suggs isnt gonna let this one go....

Packers?  No way.  That defense doesn't have a remote chance of stopping the Pats.  At least Seattle's defense has the possibility of dictating some terms on the Pats, plus if Forsett goes for 120 on them what do you think Lynch is going to do when Russell is even more dangerous on bootlegs than Flacco?

Is that why Green Bay beat the Patriots 26-21 in Week 13?

I think the Patriots match up better with the Hawks. The Seahawks receivers will be erased, the Patriots will expose the bad pass blocking of the Seattle line, and they'll spy Wilson. If Seattle wants to win, they need Lynch to have a hell of a day. I strongly feel the Patriots will put a hurtin' on Seattle's passing offense.

haha....yeah, OK. He knew exactly what was going on and had to take a 15 yarder to bring it to the attention of the refs.

And let's not forget the soft cry baby QB should have been tossed in the first half. Anybody else throws a hissy fit like that and they would be gone. I mean really!  Who acts like that in front of millions of people?  fine man that tom brady.  smh

Man?

You have a problem with a zone blitz?

No, but then again not the same thing, but I'm sure you know that.   It doesn't matter.  If you can sit there and tell me that those plays are within the spirit of the rules dealing with personnel substitutions and eligibility then there's nothing more to say.  Cheating?  Nope.  Never said it was.

I do have a question for you since you're probably a Patriots fan.  I always get doublespeak when I've asked this question before (and this goes before this latest incident).  Every time I turn around, there's a Patriots' fan telling whoever will listen that Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback to ever play the game.

Maybe you can tell me, why does the greatest QB who ever played need all of the rulebook trickery and stretching that the Patriots pull out when they find themselves in a tough game?  Why can't the greatest QB ever lineup and just play?  I can't think of a single other team with a quality QB that pulls this stuff.

And please .. PLEASE .. don't start with the "everybody is jealous of us" stuff.  The Patriots haven't won squat since 2004.  Nobody is jealous.  And no, AFC East Champion is not something the rest of us are envious of.  That's like graduating Magna [profanity deleted] Laude from a homeschool.

edit: And no .... that wasn't profanity .. it's the correct word, but the filter thinks its dirty.  :)

idk, they don't seem so "complete" to me. They have no real downfield threat, their O line is just OK and their QB is slow and immobile. We've already seen that their D can be easily beaten.  I give the colts a decent chance to win.

It just tells me that Teary Eyed Tommy, Belicheat, and his sock puppet McDaniels all got their devious little minds together to strategize this one.  No...its not aginst the rules but highly unorthodox, unfair, and dare I say...brillinat.  But given who is involved is anyone really surprised?

You couldn't be more wrong. Bad coaching on Harbaugh's part. He sould have called a timeout or the D just should have dropped into zone coverage which is standard league wide when a D gets caught in that situation. He was out coached. Belichick is a smart guy and lets not forget a Baltimore kid.

Brady did nothing that deserved a flag or ejection.

Finally a good football post instead of whining.

Might not be new to Belichick or Brady but that doesn't mean it's unworthy of a penalty

I don't have a single problem with any of those clips because I remember the situations. How come you cut Mcfee kneeing Brady in the head?

I'll include that but then you'd have to see Brady getting upset BEFORE McPhee's knee ever touches his head. Brady shoves McPhee and tries to get up right under his feet. Guess he was just throwing a fit for being sacked.

Whatever the Patriots did, they did it's over. Harbs has way more things to be mad about then this. Like Dean Pees and his obsession with corners playing 20 yards off.

Totally Agree, this style of DB coverage all season is why Raven's let teams like the Broncos and Pats chip there way down the field.

Agreed, Harb's constant whining to the refs all years leads to NOT getting decisions when you need them. This was a chess match between Harb's and Bilichick , and Harb's lost.

Also, 3 personal foul penalties killed us, Torey for 2 and  Mcphee for the other.

Sure. As I've said repeatedly. They had between 7 and 10 seconds on each play. That's not enough? Maybe you can cite a rule that says that's not enough.

Hey, here's an idea: The Wire marathon. Now there's a Baltimore production that's a GOAT. (Note: I recently took this advice and marathoned The Wire. I had forgotten how often they use a certain word ...)

7 to 10 seconds is meaningless if the defense doesn't know who's eligable. There was a RB lined up wide who couldn't go out and run a route. That's something that the defense should be informed of. It's a failure by the refs, but it's also a perfect example of the patriot way and a great example of why I despise their franchise.

I think you meant Belichick....  Not Billick...

And I think you meant Torrey...  Not Torey.

There was no win or loss here on this....  First of all...  Don't feed the trolls....

Second, the BEEF was with the deception, AND that the Refs should have handled and didn't...  It's no chess match...  The Patriots believe we were "outcoached"...  We weren't.  We were deceived by them putting 6 receivers on the field, and the refs not announcing one of them (which one of them) was ineligible.
