Brady to Ravens: 'Study the rule book and figure it out'

610 posts in this topic

The Patriots showed why the English language has so much expressiveness.  We aren't just stuck with the word "cheating" because that's not quite right.  Thankfully, we have other words like underhanded, conniving, sniveling, and dishonorable.

Nobody said what they did was ILLEGAL....  what they did was deceptive and unethical...  and they knew it.  They took one of our best defensive players right out of the game with that move, and they knew it.

And they wonder why everyone calls their coach Bellicheat....

They push it...  It's like telling a child what they are and aren't allowed to do...  then they find something they know is wrong and when they get caught doing it, they just say "You didn't tell me I couldn't do that"....

You are forgetting the fact that after brought to their attention the refs put a stop to the manner in which the Pats were substituting.

This is blatantly false.  The league has said nothing was illegal.

... Brady had to get so snotty about it afterward.

And this after his crybaby temper tantrum in the 2nd qtr.

I guess you didn't see the cheap shot knee to the helmet he took after the play was dead?

like Flacco doesn't take shots like that game in, game out. This is the AFC North, not pre-school.

This is blatantly false.  The league has said nothing was illegal.

The problem is that it took the officials so long to adjust and give the Ravens a chance to address the issue.  Something the league will look into, how to handle.  Belichick apparently realized the officials wouldn't know exactly how to handle it and he could obtain an unfair advantage.

Look - there is a difference between illegal and shady.  This was shady, unfair, typical Pats BS - but it wasn't illegal.  Every one of your championships is tainted because of the way your team has always conducted itself.  If you want to hear otherwise, stick to the Pats boards because nobody here gives a crap.

"Taking shots" is part of the NFL. Getting kneed in the face by a DL well after the whistle is not.

Odd that you'd excuse this behavior in a thread complaining about the other team playing outside the rules, or, spirit of such.

No you will not find a flea flicker. Ever. Guarantee it. Cam Cam would never use such a thing.

You are forgetting the fact that after brought to their attention the refs put a stop to the manner in which the Pats were substituting. Meaning, it was not on the up and up.

Bills game 2010...I should know, I was there

They had between 7 and 10 seconds on every play, according to Peter King at MMQB, who went back and re-watched the tape. Should the offense be required to call a timeout so the defense, and coaches, can get up to speed?

lmao!  Peter King? yeah, he's a friend of the Ravens.  smh

It's simple.  It was a legal tactic, but the way it was done deceived the refs and it was not handled per the rule.  Call it what you like.

But it didn't deceive the refs and it was handled according to the rule. Why can't you just admit Harbaugh and his D got caught flat-footed? Repeatedly.

haha....yeah, OK. He knew exactly what was going on and had to take a 15 yarder to bring it to the attention of the refs.

And let's not forget the soft cry baby QB should have been tossed in the first half. Anybody else throws a hissy fit like that and they would be gone. I mean really!  Who acts like that in front of millions of people?  fine man that tom brady.  smh

here you go sport.....

"Did Harbaugh have a legitimate gripe? Yes and no. There’s nothing illegal about what the Patriots were doing. Running unbalanced lines, moving blockers around a formation, and confusing a defense is all legal, and given the importance of the moment, this was a great time to unleash something confusing. At the same time, defenses are supposed to have the right to make substitutions if the offense makes a late change, with the umpire standing over the football until the defense has had the opportunity to substitute accordingly."

Perhaps Bellichick will have a life changing moment and sucumb to decency. He really is Darth Vader or that empire lord above Darth Vader.

Sure. As I've said repeatedly. They had between 7 and 10 seconds on each play. That's not enough? Maybe you can cite a rule that says that's not enough.

Hey, here's an idea: The Wire marathon. Now there's a Baltimore production that's a GOAT. (Note: I recently took this advice and marathoned The Wire. I had forgotten how often they use a certain word ...)

No it isn't. Once Harbs took the penalty - no more shenanigans. A fact. Go re-watch.

oh....did you stop reading there? Or did I miss when  the ref stood over the ball to allow for defensive subs?  lmao!

forgot to ask.....did you click on the link?  If not you should.  It reads how your scum bag team got called out by the ref in week 9.

The results of those plays were a result of manipulation not football play.

Desperate times call for desperate measures calculated deception.
