And, Flacco didn't get a single first place vote. <_<

He has a better offense to work with, and the fact Flacco came out of a Deleware speaks a LOT. He didn't come out of a Big 10 school like Ryan. Let the statistics speak for Ryan, but next year when Flacco gets some weapons we will see.

Matt Ryan only has an MVP candidate half back to distract defenses for him no big deal, NOT.

Doesn't matter, there is no way they are going farther in the playoffs than us.

Yep, not only that, Ryan had the easier schedule of the two.

The only credit I'll give Matt Ryan is that he played in (arguably) a tougher division and was able to win with no real help on offense.

But, the help that he did have on offense in Michael Turner, Jerious Norwood, and Roddy White, was significantly better than what Joe Flacco had to work with (no offense to our players).

Granted, Flacco had a better defense to protect him from his mistakes. But, it's not as if the Falcons' defense was any slouch, neither; John Abraham was one of the league leaders in sacks, and their front seven was wholly underrated.

Regardless, I'll take a Super Bowl over a Rookie of the Year award any day -- to me, that'll be the ultimate vindication for Joe Flacco.

Well, he only needed an MVP type RB, an all pro WR, a great O-Line and a weak schedule in the NFC (!) to accomplish that. Congrats, Matt.
Would like to see our defense "congratulate" him in the superbowl.

500 bucks say that he can't handle a solid defense. And another 1000 bucks say that Joe would shred their defense. Oh well, the media loves him, let him have all the awards on this planet. He'll never get a superbowl.

I truly believe that a few years down the road Flacco will be a much better QB than Ryan. The Ravens know they have their franchise and can now FINALLY focus on adding offensive weapons in the passing game. Flacco, right now, is a better QB than Ryan. Ryan, right now, has better receivers than Flacco and doesn't play against all the top defenses. Thats my opinion.

Your team finished #4 in the league in rushing and our defense sucks. Abraham is the only person on defense to worry about, but I would love to have your defense.

Your team probably would destroy our team, but because of the defense.

And we would love Roddy White and Michael Turner (whoa, can you imagine The McClain train and Turner the Burner in the same backfield? That would be crazy). I think the development of a QB depends more of the quality of the offense he is inserted into, more than the team as a whole.

Who cares wether or not Flacco is the ROTY.

If he doesnt complain about it then neither should we.

Ed Reed could care less about being an MVP.

Neither will I. As of now the Ravens are only thinking about the Super Bowl.

Lets cheer for them trying to get there rather then 1 or 2 players getting recognized as something.

I'm not sure if that's true. That's the unltimate recognition. That's what players play for (along with the obvious, money).

Not a single vote?! Ryan winning isn't a big surprise but is he that much better than Flacco stat-wise? Chris Johnson and Matt Forte should've gotten more votes, too. <_<

But I know Joe wouldn't care because we're in the playoffs, and I'm sure he's much more concerned on the playbook and game film this week.

Joe clearly did more with less. It's a shame Ryan got the recognition, but unless I've totally mis-read Joe, he could probably care less. He'll just focus on the 'Fins, and go on from there. As others have already said, he's OUR OROTY, and I'm sure he knows that.

I agree. Nobody expected Flacco to be rookie of the year material when we drafted him, so why be upset about it now? 2 years from now people will barely remember who won ROY but I bet they remember what team won the Superbowl.

yea the way flacco goes about his business. he could care less.

i mean come on did we really expect a rookie qb from delaware to win roty. everyone gives the excuse that we have the D so that "takes all the pressure off flacco". it's aight flacco will get his throughout his career

Who freaking cares? Some of you sound like children who didn't get their way. Both of them had a great year, Ryan's was better statistically, so he won. Not a surprise, nor is it a big deal. I have a ton of respect for Matt Ryan and congratulate him on his win. I really hope we meet in the Super Bowl.

Do you ever think that with all the news surrounding Atlanta (Vick) that maybe it's a better story for the media. Atlanta was a team that wasn't expected to win half their games, let alone be in the playoffs. It seems like the teams that have more controversy with their players get all the attention. Now in my opinion, a guy that comes from a 1-AA school that all the football gurus doubted should be ROY and his coach should be COY...but look, no major controversy! Just my opinion.

I call TOTAL B.S. on that!!

FLACCO > RYAN

If it wasn't for the Michael Vick fiasco, Joe would have gotten more recognition... oh well, we all know who's the best, and that's all that matters.
