Bring Owen Daniels back.

74 posts in this topic

His not a world beater.  His old.   But he can play at a very high level and is incredibly CLUTCH.

He PROVED his worth this season and needs a short term contract.  Give Daniel Owens a 2-year deal Ozzie.  He will not disappoint.

yes/no?

Dear god yes bring Owen back but we can't rely on him as much next year as we did this year. We'll have to rotate him with a hopefully improving Crocket and again hopefully a healthy Pitta.

Our only set of reliable hands all years except maybe for Marlon Brown.

I am for it, because let's face it Pitta propably will not be the same if he is to continue his football career and Gillmore is not that great recieving threat yet

You got his first/last name mixed up.

Will depend on price and his desire to take more beating.

No. Can't chance it. Don't know how Pitta is going to be after his injury (or even for sure if he's coming back) and we need someone better just in case.

Daniel Owens? You mean OWEN DANIELS? Yes, I say bring him back as well. Pitta's injury might be career-ending, no one knows yet, so I think Daniels will be back.

Daniels is good but I do worry what he'll be after he just had yet another season of wear and tear on him. I'd bring him back only as a second string, third down tight end and try to see what Gilmore or maybe a drafted receiving tight end can do a starter instead.

I thought you meant Terrell Owens for a second lol. Still he probably would've went up for that pass.

No. Doubt.

He also had more than a few drops today including a TD that he got his hands on

I watched that TD drop and unless he has Odell Beckems hands that's not happening.

I'm all for bringing him back. Can't rely solely on Pitta or Gilmore. Might as well be someone experienced with the system.

I'd like us to draft another TE highly, though. Regardless what happens with Owen or Pitta

It hit him right in the hands and Chung wasn't even in position to make a play on the ball. That should've been a TD for OD

I'd like to personally see us get younger at the TE spot and more aggressive playmaking WR's.

Thank you Don't know why everyone thinks we should keep on fielding all these old men (football age wise)

If pitta was truly healthy Id say no. But only te we have is really Gilmore so we need Owen even if his play time decreases

He's been good but he dropped a td pass ,would have been Flacco's 5th td ! and it cost us this game.

Yeah, he dropped what they now call a back shoulder pass. In the old days, we were taught to catch the same pass with our thumbs out and our left arm down (below the right arm) so that the left arm didn't obstruct the sight line. It takes a micro-second longer for the ball to reach your hands but you're able to catch it with your hands and then cradle it or bring it into the body. I hated to see Owen use the new technique on that particular pass play but that's the way its being coached today. In spite of the dropped pass, Owen played well as a substitute for Dennis this year and we definitely need to bring him back next year if he's able and ready to compete.

Well besides that missed opportunity for a TD. I like him but I wouldn't mind going another route if a younger guy is there. Still, if we can get him for cheap then I am fine with it.

Him crockett pitta and a younger more explosive player would be nice. The player dickson was meant to be.

I'm not sure how pitta comes back so Daniels should be kept. He has good chemistry with joe.

Ehh. He played well, but had a bunch of drops man... His biggest , being the picture perfect laser that flacco threw to him in the endzone... But alas, we're let down in NE by another Free Agent aqusition from the offseason.

I think it was a tough pass...he played great for us yesterday..hes a great route runner and knows the system . Good team guy. For me its about getting tight ends who are smart and savvy rather than the ebrons or dicksons of this world who only look good in college..

If they sign him to a 1 yr contract only but I'd at least look and see what else is available. No need to rush on this.

Hits both hands, just where it needed to be... It was a perfect pass ruined by a drop

I agree, but he moved the chains all game..I won't hold it against him. Same way I won't hol interception against joe. Just both made mistakes.

We lost this game on defense. But yes, if he catches that. We are running forsett to get JT into FG range to kick a game winner instead of needing a TD to win.
