honestly didn't like it. probably get negged for say that but when your team is in the race i don't think its the right place to go try to inspire them to win the super bowl. just my .02... i love ray but kind of stings to see him flirting with the enemy.

That's one. The other is the team that is happens to be as well.

Slap in the face.

Actually I think the reason why it was the colts is because they aren't playing baltimore this week

Not sure if any of you recall it Ronnie Lott spoke to the saints before they played San Fran a couple years ago.

What's the big deal?  It's a speech that was requested from his former coach.  It's not like he's coaching or consulting the team. He's just giving some generic words to a bunch of players he doesn't even know on a personal level.  Let the man be

Dont Care, id rather Ray, NOT come by and give a speech. Ravens dont need it, i know Flacco wouldnt want it and maybe Suggs for that matter. We have our Leaders on this Roster.  This Play off run is about this Team and this Team ONLY.  I think the Speeches got played out along time ago, too many in a short span of time , samething over and over again. Flacco basically found them comical at the end. We dont need the distraction.

The Ravens are trying to move passed our Long time hall of famer players.  Honestly, if anything, i could see it happening maybe next week if  make it past the PATS but i rather him not imo.

I'd be pissed if I were a Colts fan or player.

If you were a real Balitimore Colts or Ravens fan you'd just focus on the task at hand...End the Patriots.

No problem what so ever with Ray supporting his old friend. Colts/Pagano reached out for an inspirational speechifier and the Ravens didn't.

No one is implying he should have given any speech to the Ravens.

That wasn't the point of contention.

Just ask yourself: Who do the Patriot fans hate more than us? Could it be the Broncos? Huuummm. The Colts have a Ravens ex-coach. Let's mess with them alittle bit.

Long story short - We can got this. Patriots will fall and anybody else on the way.

Not sure if the speeches got played out and honestly I really don't think it ever did . Flacco may have found it comical but that's Flacco not the awhole team. Ray Lewis is one of the best motivational speaker I have ever heard but I agree with everything else you said.

Ray Lewis knows Chuck Pagano  so this could have been done to help a friend but at the same time i'm sure Ray Lewis got paid for his services as well and probably alot of money to. I really see nothing wrong with this at all

I personally don't like it, but I'm not mad at him for it. I don't like him any less. I think the only way I'd be upset is if I felt like his speeches were special and reserved only for us. He's done this before, albeit never on another professional NFL team as far as I know. It certainly stings some considering that it's to the Colts of all teams.

Maybe it's because I'm 25 but I don't hold a grudge over Indy.  We have a great franchise with the Ravens so to me everything with the Mayflower driveaway worked out better for Baltimore anyway.  Had Ray gave a speech to PIT or NE that'd be a different story.  Hell, Indy isn't even our opponent this weekend.

LOL, I'm pretty sure he didn't charge a former coach just to give a short speech.  That'd be pretty petty.

Not sure why people are salty. I understand he has a connection to the Ravens, but him giving the speech, doesn't take away from that. Played under Pagano, why not? I'm sure it wasn't an idea Lewis came up with.

I'm glad we didn't get one. I wanna move on from that. Ray Lewis was awesome when he was here, but we got some of our own leaders now! Gotta move on from the Rices, Reeds, and Lewis'

I'm pretty young as well and certainly wasn't around for any of the bad blood between the Colts and Baltimore. I wasn't even born then. My dislike comes more from their past success against us with Peyton more than anything.

I think the big deal is people thought his speeches were special and reserved only for us in the NFL platform. It's really not a big deal. More of an "oh, that sucks" thing for me. I can't speak for others though. That's just my guess. I really never thought we were special and his speeches were reserved for us.

I didn't really like it, just as an immediate reaction. But, I think that's just because it's the first time it's happened. I doubt it will be the last, and I don't think the second time will really matter as much as a Ravens fan. So, all in all, as long as Ray isn't supporting the team we're playing that week, I don't see it as an issue. It's nice to see he's not completely biased now that's he's retired (cough, Irvin, cough), but I'm sure he'll always be a Raven at heart.

With that settled, let's not act like there's no value to this. I find it funny how now that he's retired, after Joe made that one comment about "not always knowing what he was talking about," now it seems like everybody's on this bandwagon that it was some big inside joke that wasn't taken seriously. Ray was considered the greatest on-field leader in the NFL for years until his final game, and for good reason. The fact that he's still being asked to speak to teams further proves how inspiring he can be, regardless of his word choice. I know we want to distance ourselves from the 2012 team and prove that this can still be a successful team without Ray and Ed Reed, but let's not act like we've all forgotten who Ray Lewis is.

Yes, that might be the reason.

I've NEVER held a grudge over Indy ... they are just a city of people that wanted an NFL franchise. The grudge is with the family Irsay and it will always be that. For quite some time, I've found the team themselves to be a likable group and coached by quality coaches. But as long as the man sitting behind the owner's box glass bears the name of Irsay, I will harbor for that franchise nothing but ill will.

I agree - we were in some way blessed by their departure, because that diseased ownership left our city and was replaced by one of the finest front offices in the sport. But it will remain the case that they did run off with our precious history of Baltimore football. It belongs here, yet it still sits in their history books because of their retaining that logo.
