Coincidence the Mueller Report gets released today?

Annnnd.... We all knew all of that anyway.... Ozzie had said that Ray told him everything.. So what the heck is the big deal.

THIS! Ozzie said Ray gave them a DETAILED account of what happened in the elevator. The Ravens knew immediately what Rice did the next day. It wasn't until Sept that the world saw what happened.

Because all the lawyers need to make their money and keep all of this in the public eye.

Get over it.

I do think their has been lots of backlash in the media, until we beat the Steelers, there has been minimal national coverage. They only talk about us now because they have to.

Go Ravens - let's get the win and shut them all up!!!

but the ravens ain't law enforcement.

some fans of football or jealous of players and that's why they get mad....cause a lot of fans always say they would be fired for out of work place stuff.

and rice did stuff in the community....now yall hate him as a person, lol? have yall never told a lie? have yall never stole something in childhood? I love how people qualify "bad behavior" as my bad ain't as bad as your bad is funny to me. You got criminals that post of this board as in have done a criminal act bashing ray rice....i would love for some of yall to get exposed taking something extra from the buffet, downloading a free mp3, or stealing office supplies!!!

I only know ray rice as a player and I don't care what we had to do to get him on the field. He is a football player and not a saint. if Ray Rice cured cancer I don't think anyone that is sane would not use his medicine because of out of the workplace transgressions.

Troy P of the steelers gave one of the best responses IMO.

Well, by definition, not every "bad" is equal. No judicial system on this planet thinks that way, and for you Christians, the Bible doesn't think that way either (thus the 10 commandments).

There is a hierarchy of "bads" on this planet, and punching out your wife is higher on that hierarchy than telling a lie.

Are you sure about the hierarchy of telling a lie even from a legal standpoint?....Bill Clinton almost got kicked out of office. And lying before a court of law is one the most harshly punished crimes. Perjury is a very serious crime, buddy!  Plus frauds are lies as well....getting taken in a pyramid scheme ain't that bad when you could lose everything? I dunno, man.

people have punched out their teammates as well over nothing...ask Steve smith when he argued with a teammate in Carolina. ...if anything "bads" is about social acceptability more than logic.

It was meant in the context of your words, not mine. You asked if people had ever told a lie or stolen something as a child. I have done both, and I would get in far more trouble with literally everyone if I punched out my wife.

Perjury is a serious crime... so is domestic assault. You are correct in saying that "bads" are more about social acceptability. However, keep in mind that laws are generally created based upon "social acceptability". If society as a whole accepted that murder was OK, then it wouldn't be illegal.

My favorite part of the whole report is the part where they claim the NFL's policy of deferring to law enforcement is somehow a bad thing. It's them not deferring to law enforcement that got them into this whole mess. If they had done that then the anger generated from the video would have rightfully directed where it belongs...the criminal justice system for being too soft.

That's because, generally speaking, the law is the MINIMUM acceptable behavior for an employee, not the maximum. Companies tend to hold their employees to a higher standard of conduct.

As an example... when I was in college, I was arrested for some small misdeameanors (alcohol and drug related). I faced a way, way, way, way worse punishment from the college than I did from the legal system. Legal system was basically a slap on the wrist. I had to fight and claw my way to stay in school based on their code of conduct.

Employment at many businesses (NFL included) is no different. The legal system is generally inherently more "lenient" with certain people, particularly first time offenders, due to the sheer volume of cases that they have to handle and the priority that they assign them.

actually, domestic assault cases appear in court in the same room as people with serious traffic violations. I was in court about an insurance violation and they had me right next to the domestic violence people.

i thought assault in general was a societal problem?.... didn't know being a male meant Everlast is plastered on my face and I can be assault by another dude and its not as big of a big deal.

domestic assault is only serious when a man is accused. Try calling the police if your wife hit you over the head with a coffee mug and think you will not be arrested, lol. why is the man automatically at fault and got what he deserved?...she will not be removed from the home in a lot of cases.

Plus let this situation of the McDoanlds cashier that beat two women after the crossed the counter and came at him happen in family situation....courts/law wouldn't even see self defense cause it's impossible for a known female family member to be a criminal towards ya, haha.  And family can treat people worse than strangers.

But if you cut a switch to whoop a 4yr old more people will run to your defense cause of social acceptability. A child is less defenseless than someones wife now?...come on now! haha.

every argument made against domestic violence in the ray rice scenario isn't being applied to a 4yr old child. it's strictly social acceptability and not logic based. You can be more aggressive on a child than a grown woman attacking you in general...that's funny.

Could we PLEASE not rehash this whole thing again? It's been discussed to death. Let's try to stick to football for a couple of days.

Thank you.

Mods says I can speak on anything as long as I don't personal attack. I have a platform much like other posters and I will use it. though some mods have not allowed me to do so......hmmm.

Commercials during football says speak on it...and I am willing. But it seems like control and only one opinion no matter the scenario is right...

Where is open discussion to solve an issue?!? ....huh?
