I picture mw just sitting around all day googling people's girlfriends, wives, and daughters (and maybe the occasional grandma).

I hope Chloe will wear Ravens jerseys as much as it appears she liked to wear Bears jerseys.

Lol.  rmw, do we have confirmation here?

Hey now.  Chloe is just famous because every Bears fan tweeted terrible things to her when they hated what Marc did lol.

My only concern with trestman is the run game.  Is he going to stick with a ZBS?  Because I don't think our Offensive line fits very well with a power run scheme.

I think our OL is going to be able to generate a rushing attack with any scheme. Guys like Yanda and KO are maulers that will move guys no matter. The one guy I would worry about is Zuttah, but there is some chatter that Urschel is going to take over for him anyways. Who knows if that is true, but in the end I don't think the ZBS is necessary for the running game to work.

Its possible, though I'd say unlikely. Bears could save almost $4M against the cap by cutting him.

Problem is... he's only in year 2 of his deal in 2015, and he has a fully guaranteed $7.5M base salary. So basically, you're looking at that kind of cap hit at a minimum, and I don't think we could take that on in 2015. He is 30, but he probably does have a couple good years left in him, but it'd obviously be nice to get somebody younger and cheaper.

Very good hire. Trestman knows talent. When he went to Chicago he drafted 2 O linemen to correct one of The Bears' most glaring problems. Then he went on to make a good QB out of Josh McCown. Trestman's biggest attribute is that he knows talent a valuable asset when we need to restock the O line.

Look at Trestman's resume. It's no fluke, he's taken average QB's and made them great. Josh McCrown, Jake Plummer, Scott Mitchell Rich Gannon. He's a great offensive mind.

Trestman has never lasted longer than three years at any NFL position. Not impressed.

Sure...

My roommate––a Rams fan––just went full stalker mode and found out where she goes to college.

I think KO and Yanda could play in any scheme and excel, but my concerns are also with Zuttah and our Offensive tackles.  Wagner I believe could play man.  And Monroe isn't much of a run blocker to be honest, hopefully he rounds into form next year and plays healthy.

But I think Juan Castillo is a good coach, and he's a historic Zone Blocking west coast coach.  That's the system I'd like to stick to personally.    I also want to give Urschel a look at center, with his intelligence and quickness.

But I respect your opinion.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but Matt Miller tweeted a week ago that he doesn't expect Brandon Marshall to be back with the Bears next season. Things could get interesting :)

Trestmnan fall under the George Seifert coaching tree, which includes Gary Kubiak, both Shanahans and even Pete Carroll.  Gase was a great candidate, but Trestman looks like a better fit with minimal impact to the offense.

Here's some info about the Chicago Bears Offense under Trestman. What we see here is a very efficient offense in 2013, and a huge regression in 2014. The concerns about his reluctance to run the ball seem warranted in both years. Does anyone know what could account for the offense's regression in 2014? Looks to me like the offensive line got worse, for one.

2013

Total YPG – 8th (382/game) PPG – 2nd (27.8/game)    TOP – 8th (31:02)

Passing: Attempts – 16th (36/game) YPG – 5th (267/game) YPA – 7th (7.7/attempt)

Rushing: Attempts – 24th (25/game) YPG – 16th (114/game) YPA –  7th (4.5/carry)

Sacks: 4th (30) QB Hits: 20th (85)

2014

Total YPG – 21st (327/game) PPG – 23rd (19/game) TOP – 17th (30:13)

Passing: Attempts – 7th (38/game)  YPG – 15th (237/game) YPA – 29th (6.6)

Rushing: Attempts – 30th (22.2/game) YPG – 27th (90.1) YPA – 16th (4.1)

Sacks: 19th (41) QB Hits: 17th (82)

We lost Garza for a few weeks but De La Puete came in a played well for him, Mills didn't play all that well either but the regression didn't come from bad play from the line, it was Trestmans play calling.

Cutler taking the money and running?

You realize how much we crap the bed with screens right? That isn't our strength and it was exactly a problem with Cam. Never used the middle of the field. Abandoned the run completely at times when he shouldn't. When run heavy when it wasn't working. History shows this guy is kind of a lot like Cam. Only without the vertical game  so now we just won't score at all.

Bears had the second highest scoring offense in 2013 with Jay Cutler at the helm. You should try thinking before jumping to conclusions.

the split between run and pass seems ok to me there tbh

Edit. 2013 is fine, 2014 could do with 5 passes being changed for runs leaving it 33 to 28.

But he isn't as bad in that regard as first feared.

Possibly. Not sure though, because the Ravens, Patriots, Broncos, etc have all remained competitive after giving out deals to QBs.

Yeah, it's not bad. It's roughly a 60/40 pass-run split in both years.

For comparison, it was 55/45 under Kubiak.

youre talking joe flacco, tom brady, and peyton manning, compared to jay cutler, the qb who cares less about his job than anyone else in the nfl.

see my edit. It's not as bad as first feared.

Also harbs just won't allow it to be 75 25 or whatever too often. Doesn't fit his philosophy
