I dont think anyone understands Gase, they just hear him hyped up because of Peyton. Gase run's mike mccoys system still in Den, nothing has changed there since Peyton came. I dont think most people understand Gase has only been a OC for the last  2yrs other than that he's only been a position coach or staff assistant. I really think that when teams Interview Gase, they start to feel that he is over valued and under qualified. Peyton can sell Gase all he wants, but all anyone has to do is look at Peyton Selling us on Jim Caldwell, and you see how that went. Gase will need to be successful under someone elses shadow for a couple years before he will get a chance, he needs to go to Jax and prove himself.

Yeah I don't know. Things ended pretty badly in Chicago. Guess we will see what happens

It's a brand new gig....Things ended badly in Houston with Kubiak.

Most popular concerns I've seen on him is the fear of us playing "soft." ... Can anyone explain to me exactly what that means?

This year he was but I thought in 2013 when Cutler got hurt they ran the ball more with McCown at QB and their offense was insane.

Hey guys, I felt soo strongly about this that I created an account. I am a obviously a bears fan. Trestman was a terrible coach, all the blame fell unfairly on cuter. Get ready for lots and lots of check downs and screens, you will see lots of vanilla calls from him. For your guys sake I hope I am wrong.

Being a HC and OC/DC/STC is a whole different ball games. just like Rex Ryan terrible HC but one of the best DCs

Not sure how I feel about this....

Its way to early to know.  To be honest I was nervous when Kubiak came and look how that went for us.  With a great defense one of the best front offices in the league and an ELITE QB I have high hopes for next season

I think the Trestman hire could be either good or bad. Unfortunately we know the offense will likely be pass-heavy, so we're going to need our receivers to do better next year. I just hope we don't become too one-dimensional.

This bodes well for our young receivers: Aiken, Camp, Brown, and Gillmore.

Still think we're going to need a true #1 receiver to run his passing attack.

Kubiak has always created a top notch offense on both sides of the attack

the same cannot be said for trestman.

This is actually really bad. Flacco is and never will be good throwing the ball constantly..infact he might turn into cutler.

Kubes had nothing to work with at QB in Houston. My biggest worry is that they really ignored Forte towards the end of last year and he can get a bit pass happy. More often than not, when we get pass happy we lose. Plenty of games I remember where Flacco threw 50 times under a certain OC and we hardly gave the ball to a certain RB.

I love it! I don't think another team will offer him another HC gig in the next two or three years, which means continuity, and he's a great OC. He was my best-case scenario for OC. Glad we got him.

Too pass-happy and reliant on cute plays, and not controlling the tempo with a strong running game. A lot like the NFC South.

Whether or not that's true I won't comment on, but that's basically the gist of what they're meaning. Personally I hope he keeps a solid running game, because I think that's an underrated part of what's made Flacco so good this past season.

Yeah, that Philly loss still upsets me. You gash them all day with the run, against a team designed to defend the pass, and start airing it out when you fall behind.

Also, not to thread hijack...but does this mean that Forsett is likely gone? I mean, it's not like we brought in a guy with a pedigree for good running games. Maybe the offensive line will be good enough to make for it, but still...

Gase isn't even getting the Jaguars job, now.

The Jags are hiring Greg Olson to be their offensive coordinator.

Gase must have some issues behind the scenes.

I do think Trestman was probably the best option after losing out on Kyle Shanahan. Just hope he runs a balanced attack.
