Who would you want the Ravens to face....

29 posts in this topic

...if they make the AFC Champoionship?  Colts or Broncos?  Why?

...if they make the SUper Bowl?  Dallas, Seahawks, Packers or Carolina?  Why?

Obviously we'll be facing the best the league has to offer at each stage, but what do you think is the best road going forward?

To be honest I will take either Indy or the Broncos.

Either would be very tough but beatable. I guess Indy would be nice for the city of Baltimore.

Super Bowl. Any one but the Hawks.

I have not watched them this season but if their D is half of what it was last season it would be a huge huge challenge.

How would I want them to face the AFCCG? Not on their couch...

I'd prefer to play the Colts again. I have no idea if Monroe would be back and know we would struggle with Von Miller and Ware.

Imagine if the Ravens play the Panthers O.o

How big would that be for Steve Smith Sr.

How crazy is it madden 15 starts with Seahawks Panthers and now look(even though it's the divisional, not championship)

If we make it past Pats, I'd be more comfortable facing Broncos. It just feels that our D could match their QB style and age better than Luck.

After beating Denver, I'm afraid there won't be any choice - just don't see anybody taking out Hawks in Seattle. And why the hell not - would be great to see the last two SB winners duke it out for supremacy.

I want to play in Indy. To get that monkey off our back since that's what we're in the business to do. What? We're like.. 0-9 or 0-10 up there? What better way to end that than in the AFC Championship game on our way to a Superbowl. Andrew Luck really ain't ready for Fiery Flacco. He got a taste 2 years ago. He don't want them problems again. Superbowl? Don't matter...

Just stack wins.

one game at a time...Pats and Denver are extremely tough to deal with...

I'm going in this game as if we lose, I'm happy and if we win, I lose my voice....that's all....

I'd want the Ravens to play the Broncos in the AFCCG and then the Hawks in the Superbowl. I'd rather take on the Seahawks in a defensive battle than to see Aaron Rodgers possibly light up the Ravens' secondary.

Ravens vs. Hawks Superbowl. The past two winners. No shame for either team that loses - winner is this year's champ, loser is still a champ losing to another champ.

Also, it would be a very very very defensive battle. We'd be stopping Lynch and sacking Wilson, and Flacco would be playing chess and hopefully making Sherman cry.

Broncos then Carolina would be our easiest path in my opinion. But honestly I think New England will be extremely tough and I would be BEYOND ecstatic to get past them.

Agreed.  Honestly for me as a fan, any season where we empty out Hines field in the playoffs is a success, especially with all the injuries, but god would beating New England and Pittsburg in the same year be sweet.

AFC Title Game: Either one, both teams are beatable. We should have beaten Indy in the regular season, the Broncos stumbled toward the end and even lost to LOLton and the Bengals.

Super Bowl: Seattle or Green Bay, which will probably end being the NFCCG when it's all set and done. After yesterday, I would not want to face Dallas if the refs are going to pick up flags for them and call questionable flags on us to help them win.

To answer the original question, I would rather face the Colts in the first round.  We went toe-to-toe with them in the first game, and I don't see Flacco falling flat for a second time in Indi.  The Broncos firepower is too much for us to handle.

For the Super Bowl I think the Cowboys or Panthers would be the easier of the 4, so I would pick one of them.

But really, lets just focus on NE first!

Yeah, I know it looks like I'm an ESOL student but it wouldn;t let me change the title once posted.

Nah I'm just pulling your chain.  That's one of the reasons we have mods.  They've saved me a few times lol.

If we advance this week, I have slightly more confidence about playing Denver with the way Peyton has been playing lately (I never thought I'd say that), but it would be nice to have a chance to beat Indy after the game earlier this year. If we got to the Super Bowl, I'd hope for either Seattle or Carolina. If Green Bay gets there, you won't hear about anything except Aaron Rodgers for the two weeks leading up to the game, and if Dallas gets there, it might be even worse.

Seattle-Baltimore would be cool. Obviously, the two last champions playing for a second ring, and I'd always prefer to see a defensive team win it all.

I hadn't really thought about the the last two champs facing each other.  That'd make a great story line leading up to the Super Bowl then.

Second to that would be if the Ravens ended up facing the Panthers with Steve Smith.

When did someone fix the title of this thread? It was driving me nuts before.

Anyway, I still don't think we should get too far ahead of ourselves. These threads always look bad if we lose, but that's just me.

Don't worry there is no chance my packers get there with Rodgers hurt. Seattle will come out of the NFC. Baltimore has a shot to get there. Beat NE and they have just as much of a shot as Denver.

Indy of course for me but I don't think any AFC team will beat Seattle...

I'm with this train of thought. I figure even if we made it, we could slow down their run game, but what would we do on offense? Eventually Wilson will break big plays on our defense, but you know what? I'd rather make it there to find out for my self now... Let's just see where this goes. If it ends this week, so be it. Beating the Steelers at home is more than I could've thought possible after the loss to the Texans weeks ago.

With that said as well, a team with nothing to lose is a dangerous team. We're not suppose to beat the Patriots. They are suppose to beat us. The pressure is on them.
