Best running back scenario this offseason?

Taliaferro stays, Forsett will not be expensive, give him a 3 year deal with fair money and I doubt he walks. Pierce will probably be the odd man out depending on how the draft shakes out. I want to see us draft a stud that can dominate the carries keeping Forsett fresh for big plays and LT to rotate and continue to develop. Forsett is an excellent weapon, but his effectiveness wanes in the second half of games.

Justin is here because Kubiak wanted him. If Kubes stays, I think you have to assume we do what we can to keep Forsett.

Every single year there is a position that goes unaddressed in the draft by us. Even though we have high aspirations for a certain perceived point of weakness, it seems to get passed up continuously in the draft. I can actually see this being that position that goes unaddressed in the draft. Don't be surprised

And rightfully so. You can't fill every hole on the team through the draft, and in almost every single offseason, there are more positions that you'd like to upgrade than the number of draft picks (or at least quality ones) that you have.

RB will be addressed one way or another... either be re-signing Forsett or signing another FA RB, or through the draft.

RB isn't the kind of position where you need to draft somebody and let them sit for a year or two... modern day RBs can play right away.

If Forsett is content with a short-term, low or no guaranteed money deal, then I expect we bring him back and team him with Taliaferro for at least another season.

If we want to draft a guy high then maybe Melvin gordan will fall to us. Is he expected to fall to that 32nd spot?

There's a chance. His lack of experience as a pass catcher will hurt him and the fact that the Wisconsin offensive line can block open any running back

Why don't you want Forsett?  Dude ran for 1200+ yards this season and won't break the bank to re-sign him.

I'm not against it, but Forsett really slowed down as the season progressed. Starting with Miami, he just started going downhill. He had a good game against a weak Cleveland defense, but he's just slowing down

Yeah I get that. I just don't think you let him walk unless he wants a lot of money, which I highly doubt will be the case. Ideally, you keep Forsett and rotate in Taliaferro and another rookie to keep him fresh.

Yeah, or the rookie running back. The Ravens are obvious moving deeper in the draft now and the best player available might be Gurley or Gordon

If Kubiak leaves, I could see Forsett going to Kubiak since Kubiak is the one who gave him chances and got him going

I think we have to draft a RB. I'm not sure we need to get one day one or two, but day three makes sense. I think our compensatory picks will help, as will the Dallas Cowboys pick. We also get the pick for Bryant, right? I think it can happen.

I see a RB somewhere, though I do think we like Toussaint.

I hope Forsett resigns on a 1-2 year deal. Taliaferro should have a larger role next season and BP can maybe compete with a rookie to make the roster.

This rookie class is decent, but I'm not a fan of taking a guy early coming off of an ACL injury and I have some concerns about Gordon.

Coleman, Abduallah, or Yeldon would be better values potentially.

Man, I watched quite a few tailbacks from this class, the depth is incredible. No matter what we do, we just can't miss providing we draft one in first 4 rounds.
