I will really miss him! God please give us a cure for cancer, it takes so many decent people and sweet children way too early.

EDIT: Sorry it is Stuart.......Mods can you please help me fix that misspelling

I had not heard this. That's so sad. I knew he had cancer, but didn't realize he was losing the fight. Despite my periodic dislike of ESPN as an organization, they've had some of the best on-air personalities in the history of sports reporting and Stuart Scott was one of them.

Condolences to his family.

Woke up this morning to see this news.  So sad - thoughts and prayers going out to Stuart's family and friends.

49 is far too young to leave this earth, but from everything that I've seen it seems that Stuart lived every minute to the fullest.

RIP Stuart Scott.

ESPN is doing a great job paying tribute, but it's killing me to watch. RIP to one of the best in the business.

RIP...

it's killing this Ravens WIN Buzz. Dude was the definition of ESPN.

Glad i didn't stop watching ESPN when a lot of ravens fans did years ago. I didn't stop until the way they covered Ray Rice and how people were getting suspended for various opinions.

I heard the guys talking about some of his catch phrases like, "Cool as the other side of the pillow." He made watching ESPN fun, like Chris Berman. I had a lump in my throat this morning when I told my wife the news of his passing. My prayers to his family!

I loved Stuart Scott.  What a great personality.  It's very sad.  He was such a great announcer.  Watching him seemingly melt away was hard.  What a great person...  He was hilarious sometimes. I always enjoyed watching him...  More so  than most of the others on ESPN...

Rich Eisen is crying on the air.

I wouldn't imagine him not coming to tears. He and Stu were the dynamic duo of Sportscasters for years. Together, they were funny, and the life breath of Sportscenter. It's truly a sad day for all of sports. He lived, he fought, he will be missed by millions of people.

The best sportscaster in ESPN, and certainly the biggest gentleman on and off the field.   He loved his job and and I loved him talk about the sports we all love.

I am going to be watching the T.V. for a while, but know sports in t.v. wont be the same without him.   Although I watch Ravens for the game, you also watch these professional heighten the sports more than it is,  for our entertainment.   And boy was he the best at what he did.

Booya!  RIP Stuart.  As many would already know, his message on sports and in life was simple.  Live your life and to the fullest.

I finally got around to watching that Rich Eisen tribute, and wow. The guy obviously didn't mean as much to me as he did others here, but I choked up a bit watching this. I can't even imagine going through something like what Rich just has. RIP Stuart Scott and obvious condolences to his friends and family.
