18 posts in this topic

Mine has to go to Akbar of Nfl Network. He said that he could not imagine a possibility of Ben Roethlisberger not throwing 6 TDs, therefor his bold prediction was that big ben would throw for 6 TDs

Mooch had a hilarious one during the bold predictions segment. He said Josh Harris would run for 150+ yards against our D tonight.......

About that.

Before the season I predicted two teams from the NFC South would make the playoffs... Oh, are we only speaking about the media...

Keyshawn stated that Big Ben would thrive and deserves all the trust in the game last night, but Joe has shown nothing to earn his trust.

I thought Tampa would win that divison and make the playoffs, while Carolina would finish in the bottom half of the divison. About that...

LaMarr Woodley is eating some more crow with his comments from a few years ago:

"...they [the Ravens] have to go through one team -- that's the Pittsburgh Steelers in that AFC Championship. So in order for them to get to the Super Bowl, they have to beat us, and we're not gonna let that happen once we get that close. So that's not gonna happen in this lifetime."

I'm calling it the Worst Bold Prediction because it was actually correct.

When the Browns drafted Trent Richardson it seemed that everyone including myself thought he would be a bruising workhorse stud in the NFL similar to how he was in college ( especially given how running backs translate to the NFL ).

But Jim Brown quickly called Richardson an ordinary player, nothing special worthy of such a high Draft pick. He said his size, speed and moves were all ordinary and that Ingram wasn't much better and if Richardson couldn't start ahead of Ingram at Alabama he's probably not much better. ( so far he's been spot on with that prediction , Richardson has poor vision as a RB, seems to seek contact too much rather than getting positive yards north and south. ).

I thought moving to Colts would help him because of the attention to Luck ( the colts oline isn't good at all in run or pass protection but backs have to make plays also.

What happen to Lamar woodley?

Got signed by Oakland, played six games, had zero sacks and 5 total tackles, and ended the season on IR with a torn bicep.

He made $4.8M in 2014. Typical Raiders.

To put that in perspective... Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil made $2M this season... combined.

They made a lot more than that. You can't just look at their base salaries. You have to factor in signing bonuses. Remember, Suggs just got extended in large part to lower his cap number this year.

No, that's how much they made this season. The signing bonus (if they only have one, which they did) gets paid in one lump sum at signing.

The amount of money those players actually got paid into their bank accounts this season was $1M each. The signing bonus factor matters for cap space, not for how much the actual players made. Cap spending and cash spending are two different things.

Just like Joe Flacco had a $6.8M cap number last season, yet he himself made $30M in 2013. He's making $21M this season with a $14.8M cap number.
