January Joe

There is not a single QB I want on my team than this guy. I am dead serious no Brady, Manning or Rodgers. That guy is a phenom and a playoff monster. I don't know how he does it but who cares all he does is put up great performances in the playoffs

Joe is 6 days from 30 and still improving. He has yet to reach his best but lets not waste his prime years with bad defense and bad receivers.

Let's be fair. We don't have anything close to bad receivers. We have a lot of good receivers, but no true #1. We need an Antonio Brown, Dez Bryant, Gronk, etc type player.

He's gonna own the AFC when Brady and Manning retire lol. Get ready for consecutive Luck/Flacco AFC title games.

haha thats funny. We wasted so many great defenses with a terrible offense and now were seeing the exact opposite. Must be weird to know what it feels like to be Peyton Manning or Drew Brees for so many years

Except Flacco has to do it without the defense and without the receivers that they have been blessed with over the years.

Yes Joe threw two costly picks, but if you think those pick alone cost us the game, you really dont understand a thing about football.

Joe was awesome tonight.  No one will convince me otherwise.

Yeah I could see this easily.

I'll even say I've never seen Joe so on the money as he was in the 1st quarter. Something about his touch and release. The OL was key, but Joe was in a zone that I felt was even greater than his '12 run.

I mean...who else will it be? Ben/Rivers have done nothing lately (and aren't young themselves), I don't trust the likes of Dalton/Tannehill to make it that far, and it's too early to call on guys like Carr.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

January Joe directed the Ravens to two 14 point leads only to see them evaporate for some reason. The first pic he threw was on him. The second pic would never have happened had we been able to hold onto our second 14 point lead. Joe's a class act and a world class athlete.

His accuracy quarter 1 was amazing.

yeah and then Kubiak had to go and mess with the zone and start calling run after run. After that it wasn't as good. Still a good game from him. Shame the defense didn't ride the bus in.

After this game I'm positive that he'll win another ring barring injury. And I wouldn't have been able to say that before.

Flacco was great, unfortunately he was outdueled by one of the greatest. But he kept up and that was impressive.

Without a doubt. Completely different perception of flacco in the playoffs than it was in 2008-2009.

I also recall fans of other teams saying how much of a fluke his td to int ratio was during the sb run. Despite the two ints today I think many are now aware of what the flacco can do when it matters

Yep, pretty much everyone is giving Flacco props today, and it's deserved.

Everyone here knows I'm no Flacco apologist but he showed a lot of heart today. Playoff Flacco is real.

Wouldn't say everyone... I think some Steelers fans are still sore with the whooping the Ravens put on their team last week. Not all, but some.

Yeah, the only people I really see dissing him are Steelers fans. They're jealous that their QB's last playoff win was over Mark Sanchez. Ben hasn't won anything since his D stopped being top 5, and the fact that he imploded without Bell proves that he might not ever win without an elite defense/run support.

Despite 2 ints, a HELL of a performance by Joe Flacco. 4 TDs and the fact that we were walking a solid PATs defense for the majority of the game makes this stinger of a loss a little less sour. This one wasn't on Joe despite his walk off interception, our D blew multiple leads and all around our secondary got nuked and embarresed. Joe looked exceptional for most of the game and its a shame we couldn't hold on to this one.

Joe Flacco is becoming more and more dependable in the post season and is living up to the $120m we gave him. Its easy to imagine him hoisting the Lombardi trophy once or twice more in his career. Call it $120m mode, when the playoffs roll around you know January Joe turns it on.

His accuracy quarter 1 was amazing.

His play up until the first pick was INSANE.

All you Flacco worshipers, this is why some of us are so critical. It doesn't make sense how one can play this well, and then the next game, look like a Geno Smith, Mark Sanchez hybrid. This was some of the best football I've seen some from Joe, ever, today. Torreys dumb penalty early and Daniels drop left points on the board.

It's official, just get him to the post season. I don't care what we have to do either, get this man some weapons as well. I hope Pitta can return, but who knows with the hip. I'm actually inclined to say WR, RB then TE in this draft.

Joe played fantastic. No complaints at all with anything he did  yesterday.  Of course he'd like a couple throws back but this offense isn't built for a shootout.  Most of the Ravens high picks and money are invested on the defensive side and it was that side that let us down.

If I was to have a twilight zone type moment I'd like to see how this game would have played out with Smith at CB.

If Smith is there I think we win. For one he's a better tackler so he makes that third down stop Melvin missed from whichwhich they went on to score a TD. He also turns his head and intercepts/knocks down lafells td.

With the way our secondary played and did Doom play ???,

without Joe this game would have been a 42-6 Patriots blowout .

For us to nearly make it to the Super Bowl with the worst secondary in the NFL is amazing .

Can we all agree now that Elam is a bust ?

Gotta love this headline from USA Today:

Bell: Brady beats Flacco in classic quarterback duel

I guess people now recognize that January Joe IS a force to be reckoned with.

in a way, I think it's fitting we lose on a pick. We live and die by Flacco now. That's the way it is. 4 TD'S should win you a game, but he needed another one and had to make a play, it just didn't quite work.

Wish Daniels could have held on the drive before

Seriously, 7 years is long enough - get this man a reliable receiving target that can be here long term, which btw definitely doesn't mean it has to be the first round pick - the majority in the league today aren't first round picks, in fact NONE of Rodger's receivers was a first rounder, none of Brady's, and only one of Roethlisberger's was.  Just draft these guys and put them together at the same time, stop waiting until one guy's contract runs out before drafting the next guy.  I seriously think Joe and this offense are on the cusp of doing some pretty amazing things, especially in January, if they can just get 1-2 more pieces.

It's a shame that we didn't win because Flacco threw a pick while trying to get a 5th TD. The fact that he even needed 5 TDs to attempt a win is beyond sad. He and the offense gave us two 14 pts leads in each half put 31 points on the board and came away with a loss. Sandiego all over again. Pees even with horrible secondary players did not scheme for the second half. Those large cushions that we saw were disgusting. Having Elam our worst tackler by far on the field was inexcusable. I'm pretty sure he is responsible for one of those 4th qtr TD due to a miss tackle. Good season though Ravens. Hopefully you are better next year with the return of some injured starters.

Couldn't have said it better than this. 7 years in the game and he has always had a 1year free agent signing as a receiving option. Are we the only team that can't put together a receiving corp for more than a year? Looks like it is because we fill the receiving position through off season signings instead of draft. Ravens you will have a better chance at affording to keep some offense out there if you draft some star players. Think the combination of Rice and Joe would have stood as a long if they weren't drafted...nope.
