Many have contract bonuses or incentives to make the pro bowl.

They'll get that bonus just by getting selected, I'm sure. That doesn't mean they want to play, especially if the alternative is playing in the Superbowl.

True. That's why most don't try in the game. But, they aren't gonna complain about the bonus. And you have guys like JJ Watt always go all out.

This. The incentive is in name only not playing in the game.

I read joes 7 road playoff wins are the most by a qb in NFL history.

Yup. Flacco is also 9th all time in total playoff wins, one behind with Aikman, Stabauch, and Peyton Manning (that's crazy to think about).  He is tied for second among playoff wins of active QBs, only behind Brady. He is 10-4 in the playoffs, while Big Ben is 10-6 in 3 more years in the league.. Crazy, considering Joe won't be 30 until January 16.

I think you're one week into the future. As of now, Flacco still has ten wins, tied with Big Ben and one behind Aikman, Staubach and Peyton. However, check in this time next week and you should be right on the money.

I was looking at Wikipedia and assumed they hadn't updated it, thanks.

Well, on the odd chance that the Ravens win the next two games, Flacco will have more road playoff wins than any other current quarterback. He's tied with Brady and someone else right now at 7.

??? Not sure where you're getting this, but Flacco's 7 is already the all-time record.  Second most is Eli with 5.  Tom Brady only has 3.

Man if Flacco lights up NE and we win...people will be scared. Like Im scared in a good way. Flacco is my bro.

I feel like this could be the win that puts Flacco into a new category. The "Elite" thing will always be debated because he'll never put up those crazy numbers, but there's still a little bit of doubt as to whether or not he can replicate what he already did once during the Super Bowl run. "Clutch" is one thing, and I think we all know he's capable of making "the throw" if the team is in that position late. But, if we play another game like we just did in New England, I think he goes from a guy you can trust to make "the throw" to a guy you can trust to play "the game" when it counts.

An easier way to say it is that right now Flacco gets compared to other quarterbacks, but I think if he plays New England the way he did the last two times in the playoffs, he might have a little niche that changes those comparisons. It would be interesting to see the national perception of a guy who's expected to win, regardless of stats. Right now, I don't think there's really a guy like that in the league.

I thought this was interesting... Joe has now won at least one post-season game in each of six different seasons.  The only quarterbacks in NFL history to accomplish that are:

Tom Brady (9)
Brett Favre (9)
Joe Montana (7)
Terry Bradshaw (6)
John Elway (6)
Jim Kelly (6)
Steve Young (6)
Joe Flacco (6)

Tom Brady would make it 10 if he beats us next week.  Peyton Manning is currently at 5 and will make it to 6 if he beats the Colts next week.

3 more TD passes this postseason and he moves ahead of Aikman and into the top ten all time. 220 more yards and he passes Roethlisberger on that list, as well, and into 14th place.

Does Joe have the record or is he closing in on the records of

Most consecutive touchdowns with out an interception

Most games and/or consecutive games in the playoffs with at least two touchdowns and no interceptions?

Don't know to be honest, but he did get the record of "Most Gangsta" after this weekend.

Which he had previously held after our super run.

He does have an NFL record for most post season games with multiple touchdowns and no interceptions, with 7. Tom Brady and Joe Montana are second, each have 6. Not sure if Joe's 5 consecutive are a record, but I'll try to find out.

Edit: After doing some research, the 5 consecutive streak that Joe is on IS tied for the all-time NFL record with Joe Montana and Drew Brees.

Montana had 5 straight between 1988 and 1989 (2 straight to end the '88 playoffs including a Super Bowl win, and 3 throughout the '89 playoffs including a Super Bowl win).

Brees, who had 5 straight between 2009 and 2011 (3 straight throughout '09 including a Super Bowl win, 1 in 2010 in a 36-41 loss to exit the playoffs in the first round, and 1 more to start the 2011 playoffs).

Colin Cowherd absolutely loves him some Flacco he's arguing on show that Flacco is the 5th best QB in league. The argument started with him saying he's top 5 in AFC now cowherd says top in league. Look at his playoff poise.

He said " what's wrong with you people that don't like Flacco " lol.

I've never heard anyone other than Jaws talk so glowingly about Flacco.

not a fair comparison comparing qbs of different eras.  Aikman didn't throw for many yards in season as well.  The Roethlisberger comparision is a very fair comparision though.  Go Joe! Go Ravens!

I'm happy to hear SOMEONE finally starting to give him some of the respect he's earned.   It boggles my mind how even here in Baltimore some in the media just can't bring themselves to do so.   Guys like Mike Preston and Tony Lombardi come to mind.

It's bizarre, and it's frustrating as a Ravens fan.   But I'm coming to accept that some people just live in a fantasy world when it comes to this team.

What ticks me off even more is that Tony Romo can't lead his team to anything and chokes in the playoffs when they aren't 8-8.   The Cowboys finally give him enough weapons that he couldn't fail if he tried (and believe me last night he tried), and all of a sudden he's MVP of the league.    Meanwhile Flacco just keeps winning playoff games and has a ring, and I don't think he's even been mentioned much by anyone as to why the Ravens beat the Steelers or would be a factor Saturday against the Patriots.

I wasn't making a comparison to either of the specific names, though it is absolutely fair to compare players from the 90s until today. Elway and Marino and Favre came from the 80s and 90s and did pretty well in terms of stats.

Anyway, my post was about Flacco moving up all time lists. In the case with Aikman, when he moves passed him, he'll be in the top ten in the history of the league. That was my point.

I'm listening to Cowherd now.  He's absolutely gushing over Flacco.  He's one of the few sports personalities who picked the Ravens to win this weekend. However, Cowherd is giddy over Flacco right now on the radio.

The saga continues...

Any bets on what the next postseason record he ties or breaks will be?

I haven't read some of the comments so I don't know if it's been said yet,but after last week Flacco is tied with Roethlisberger and Jim Kelly at #13 on the all time playoff touchdowns list with each having 21 TDs in the playoffs. With one more TD he moves in to sole possession of the 13th spot. With 2 TDs he'll be tied with Aikman in the 12th spot.A 3 TD game would have him tied with Drew Brees,Donovan McNabb and Roger Staubach at the 11th spot. Those are some serious names to be sharing records with and quite possibly passing considering that he's only 29 and should have a good number of years of football left to play.
