Wild Card Post-Game: Steeler's G3

I think any player at any level is prone to make mistake or error. I seen quality receivers in the league mess up just like Torrey on the same type of play.

I've never seen Torrey attempt to dive for the ball in his life. He doesn't like falling down. That's what's annoying about that play. Tapping his second foot inbounds might've meant falling, but he's so afraid to do so.

you would say that. You've never been able to criticise him, at all.

It was awful wide receiver play, it can't be justified in anyway.

He did however make a hell of a play breaking up the interception

After a couple of days of quality reflection and basking in the glow of victory, I think it would be safe to say that this would have to be the most satisfying beat down of the squealers ever.  A pretty obvious statement, I know. But it just feels good to say it.

As a footnote.......Ward was all over the tv Saturday evening, talking up his boys.  I wish I could have sat next to him during the game.   :D

True, Torrey has made athletic plays, but this is not a dive - this is a jump and a reach. He's also gone up for the ball and paid for it several times by landing on his back. I give him credit for that. But he does not dive for the ball. I'm sure you know what I mean.

. He doesn't like falling down. .

Shrugs.

I recon he doesnt mind falling down. Unless you asked him and he told you I will tend to believe the opposite.

"He doesn't like" means he won't dive (definite chance of falling down), but he will go up for the ball (only a chance of falling down). Put it this way - Torrey won't do things that would require a mat during team drills.

I guess you would know better than I would.

I only met the guy once...

I don't need to have met him, I've just watched him play. I can't remember a time he's ever attempted a diving catch.

Rewatching the game...first play of the second offensive series show why Jacoby will never be able to make contested catches. He never even extended his arms to catch the ball...tries to body catch it like a punt.

Jacoby is a tall target as well, not extending his arms makes him a short target wasting that height. Makes me wonder if he has ever been forced in practice to only catch with his hands, or take 50 reps with the juggs machine, high passes requiring only hands catches? I imagine all this has been tried with him but he just can't do it as evidenced by his status as a marginal receiver throughout his career. Regardless, love him as a returner. Although in the game he was tippy toeing way too much. I wanted to see those burners ignited and him fly down the field.

I was just being honest. I seen quality receivers do the same thing even Antonio Brown on sunday made  a slight error.I'm not saying Torrey isn't at fault for what happen but no body perfect either

There's an article on ESPN about what would of happened if the Bengals' had Green and the Steelers' had Bell. They used the words at ''full strength,'' as if we were, yet we were missing our starting CB and TE. Not to mention other players that would of been starting for our secondary.

I really don't care, but found it quite a stupid article.

For someone who doesn't like falling down, he sure does end up on it a lot. Dude never seems to have footing.

Funny how that is. I kept hearing after Sunday that three of the four losing teams had significant injuries, well what about the winning teams? Sure the Bengals and Steelers had some injuries to key players, but so did we and many more too, but I guess they have to talk about something.

Seems to me that BSPN don't like the fact that the Ravens are the only team from the AFC North still standing.

The only difference I would say on that though is that Brown was pushed out by Darien Stewart.   Torrey was untouched on that touchdown throw.

I'm still hopeful Torrey could become a complete receiver.   It's possible he's still getting used to Kubiak's system.

They've had no problem reporting the Cowboys win. Funny though, I don't ever remember them mentioning that head of officiating, Dean Blandino, was caught on Jerry Jones' son party bus, having a great time.

Wow. Just wow. I bet BSPN would be in depression if the Cowboys, Patriots, AND Broncos all lost this weekend.

I don't think Broncos win. There is a chance that can hhappen though. There is a changing of the guard happened ngata in the NFL now. If these old heads don't get a ring in the next 2 years, their time is up. Ravens becoming a problem in the AFC. Texans will be with a qb and yh3 Colts as well. Bengals if they manage to fix Dalton, will be a nightmare. In the NFC, hawks and Cards will be dominant. Packers can use their picks to fix the defense. Just imagine Rex with the Niners defense.

Yep. But the Niners need to fix their offense. I thought their defense played pretty well considering their circumstances.

Defense been real good. The offense was awful all season. I knew Kap would be exposed and in pre seaosn my frieND predicted they wouldn't make playoffs. I've said the best choice for Rex would probably be the Falcons. Soft division with a set offense and everyone knows he can build a defense.

Watching Roethlisberger being repeatedly hammered into the ground nearly brought a tear of joy to my eye.

Physical Ravens post season defence is back, baby!

A little late to the party but I've had a smile on my face since the Suggs knee-ception and the offense went out and Flacco threw that TD to Gilmore.

Finally exorcised that demon.

Awesome on so many levels, made the weekend great.

edit - also, Roethlisberger and Miller definitely had concussions but didn't go through the protocol and ran right back out with 'neck injuries', I lol'd.

My favorite name for that is the "quadriception," although I may be biased since I'm in health care.

Hopefully the Steelers are fined on top of losing the game. Both were so obviously concussed.

And this is based on what scientific analysis specifically?

Sometimes, all it takes is a good look at a guy. Ben, I don't think was concussed. Heath was quite obviously concussed.

I think that's the problem. There was no analysis. That's the issue.

Well, there probably was. We don't even know that it was his head that was the problem... basically just speculating what the injury was.

Heath took a head to head shot from Mosley, was down for a minute, he held his head at one point, and he looked dazed. That's a concussion.
