Wild Card Post-Game: Steeler's G3

407 posts in this topic

The Post Season Karmic Justice sweep continues.

It started with San Diego's loss to Kansas City, Then the Texans don't get in following their Pharic victory, next the Steelers went down like we knew they would without the help of their one trick pony and last but certainly not least Cincinnati falls hard to the Colts and their inflated rushing record against weak run defenses is thoroughly exposed.  Normally I would just say you guys fought hard and better luck next year but Ravens fans have taken so much garbage from Steelers and Cinci fans that I hope this haunts them the entire off season and demoralizes their entire organizations. Usually it's just a game and you let it go and move on but this year I had a Steelers fan spit on my vehicle and another Steelers fan cut me off and flip me off then point at his rear window Steelers emblem all because I have a Ravens plate on vehicle. I've come to realize Steelers fans are just a reflection of their team, selfish, violent and extremely undisciplined. That's why the steelers lost yesterday, not because we were so much better but because they racked up penalties and negative yardage and then when they realized they couldn't get away with cheating they got frustrated and tried to pick fights, take cheap shots and hit people out of bounds like they do every time they are losing. And that my friends is a reflection of their leadership...Good ole scripted, sanctimonious loss speech Tomlin who only has a ring because Cowher left him a Stacked team.  Hope you go 0 and 16 next season with 1 yard losses to every team and you waste a 1st round pick on a long snapper, reap it losers!

Joe Flacco has more playoff wins in the past 24 hours then the Bengals have in the past 24 years.

Defeating the Pittsburgh Squealers in the playoff  feels like we just won the Super bowl.

How awesome would it be to top it off with putting a heavy lid on Brady's, then Manning's hopes for another Lombardi?

I'm sure AJ McCarron will turn things around in Cinci. ;)

I hate it, when the media brings up "undefeated streaks". Who cares how many times the Steelers won against us in the playoffs? Those were very different teams. Especially the Ravens changed alot post 2012. All of those streaks break eventually. Teams  change.

Last six playoff games (going back to 2011 season AFC title game), Flacco has outplayed Brady (twice), Manning, Roethlisberger, Kaepernick and Luck... with four of those performances on the road, one neutral site game, and one home game.

Flacco: 59% comp pct, 284 yards/game, 15 TDs, 1 INT in last six postseason games.

Combo of Ben, Brady, Manning, Kaep and Luck: 59% comp pct, 296 yards/game, 6 TDs, 10 INTs in same games.

Slap hand...!

Absolutely. Now we're 6-0 in 1st round wildcard games in the Harb/Flacco Era.

Yeah, that one will break eventually, too. Not looking forward to that. ;) But not this season and that's what matters now. Hopefully Joe continues his playoff dominance. :)

I just want to say thank you to the Baltimore Ravens for giving me my wish and handing Pittsburgh their ticket out of the playoffs. The rivalry is just unparalleled, and it feels so great to finally have beaten them in the playoffs. If we play like we did Saturday, anyone will have trouble against us.

No question. Ball was thrown perfectly, catch has to be made and feet need to be down.

I gave him a little redemption since he did make the play to save the INT on either a misrun route or a poor Flacco pass.

Rewatching the game...first play of the second offensive series show why Jacoby will never be able to make contested catches. He never even extended his arms to catch the ball...tries to body catch it like a punt.

I agree!  When I saw the replay I was like, "Torrey c'mon man...tap and drag that other foot!"  I think a few other quality receivers in the league would have made that play.

Marlon Brown (as a rookie) made that play to win it vs Minnesota last year.  For a NFL veteran wide receiver, it should be fundamental.

Collinsworth is sooooooooooooo sad! In all the years I've been listening to him, I've never heard him sound so down! Wow!

When Ben went down and hit his head on the turf to listen to Colinsworth it was like he was picked off by a sniper.

I love this.

I don't mean to be immodest, but I now have as many postseason wins as Cincy in the last 24yrs.

On a more serious note it's really nice going from second worst un the division to the last one standing.

Brandon Williams is an animal, I'm dying to see him curb stomp Brady.

I was absolutely blown away by his sack. He just manhandled Maurkice Pouncey, and that's not easy to do. Just amazing.

He manhandled Pouncey and then threw Ben to the ground like a ragdoll.  Even harder to do!!

I was afraid that he wouldn't get many snaps without Bell and with Pitt in the spread all night. I'm glad he played as much as he did. The Jernigan injury made that a necessity, I guess, but Williams is a straight beast.

I just gotta to say the following:

*How about that strong performance for Hurst against Harrison!?

Are you kidding me? OZ is the man on this pick up. I know he got beat badly earlier in the season but I dont think many would predict he would hold his own like he did vs the vet LB. All be it some real good help from KO, Hurst is showing promise for the future.

*Could Melvin help us in the future?

I am starting to think CB may not be a big issue for us in the draft this year if we can retain him. tbh, I think Asa could easily play the dime spot and if we retain Webby, this could be a dangerous DB core along with that pass rush once Jimmy comes back.

*We didnt choke under pressure

Tell me if you heard this before, Ravens are winning against steelers, then steelers make a big play, all down hill from there. I know, common right? not this time. Not only did they not choke or stumble to pressure but they actually didnt do another thing that was a pain, try to run out the clock and preserve a win.Ravens actually kept firing and put their throats on Big Ben once they smelled blood and that is the type of Ravens team we will need if we plan to take this run all the way to the SB. IDC if were up by 21, if the chance is there, keep pilling on points in NE until the clock hits 0.

Honestly, most of the news on ESPN Sunday revolved around Stuart Scott's passing.  Justified in my opinion.

this game will be a legendary game that will be talked about for years in ravens circles. on the road, national TV and with a secondary that was torched a few weeks earlier in pittsburg. it doesn't get much better than that.

Priceless.

During the first two rounds of the playoffs, you always hear a lot of debate about who's the "scariest" team, or the team nobody wants to play. After this game, you have to think that's Baltimore. Looking at the way the season ended, and what we just did, the rest of the league has to be thinking, "Here we go again." It'll be interesting to see how we perform now that there's bound to be a lot more respect than there was pre-Super Bowl.

Twinkle Toed Tomlin and his coaching staff were completely and thouroughly outcoached by our coaching staff .

Ain't that the truth!

Way to go, Joe! Mike Preston even gave you a B+! Beating the Squeelers is always fun but this one was

especially satisfying, given the adversity this Ravens team had to overcome this year. Great win!!

Terrell Suggs for Free Safety!!!

I think any player at any level is prone to make mistake or error. I seen quality receivers in the league mess up just like Torrey on the same type of play.
