Not to be a Negative Nancy but Torrey Smith should have pulled down that TD last night. 2 in 3 starting NFL WRs get both feet down in my opinion.

That would've been nice. Thank god for Tucker. Had he missed after that incompletion, we might have been in pretty shaky shape.

No question. Ball was thrown perfectly, catch has to be made and feet need to be down.

I luv Torrey, but WTH!?  He had a full stride to just tap a toe. frustrating to watch.

For sure.  He has to be willing to go to the ground on that one.  By trying to keep on his feet, his stride was too long and he couldn't get the foot in.  Drag the toe and hit the ground.

He had so much room that I'd bet he could have dragged and still stayed upright, though staying upright cannot be the thought process. I can only imagine he lost his place on the field. Either he thought he had more room than he did, or he believes he was already far out of bounds.

I'd love to be able to see it again.  I'm basing that off of what I saw live and on the replay.  Regardless, you have to have better instincts than that.  Luckily, it didn't end up mattering in the end.

Correct... its instinctual.

Torrey has and will make some big plays for us... no question about it. But as a fan, if I were negotiating his future contract, that video of that specific play, to me, is what separates him from the upper echelon group of WRs in this league.

All of the great and even good WRs in this league, to me, make the catch and get their feet down in that spot.

His foot, literally, glided about an inch from the ground for a full stride before landing out of bounds. He could have accidentally grazed a piece of grass it was so close. If he lowered it a half inch to drag for a second, he still would have been able to place it down with enough balance to stay up.

Unsung hero: Dumervil and his 2 HUGE sacks.

Having such a huge year

I knew one of the benefits of no Bell and them running spread would be that our All-Pro would get plenty of snaps.

I agree!  When I saw the replay I was like, "Torrey c'mon man...tap and drag that other foot!"  I think a few other quality receivers in the league would have made that play.

I think most of the number three receivers in the league could have made that play. It wouldn't have even been what I would deem a spectacular catch of he made it. Pretty run of the mill for the NFL. Not like he had to drag both toes and extend parallel to the ground or anything.

Agreed. Torrey didn't tap and Brown didn't position his body right on a great pass. It happens. Let's call it even.

Yes, both had a chance. Brown's was impacted by the defender pushing him out, though. Would've been a much more difficult catch.

I love Torrey, and he played pretty well last night. But if we're simply discussing that one play, there is no excuse for him. I view that play as equivalent to a drop.

What will make this celebration even better? A Bengals exit in the playoffs.

Cincy is trying. Not a single 1st down so far in the second half. Without AJ Green, Andy Dalton is just not that good.

I wonder if it's killing Matt Ryan to break down Flacco's playoff success as a guest anchor on Sportscenter right now lol.

I watched him on there this morning, too. He was pretty good, actually. Seems like a likable guy. Had some really nice things to say about our team.

True. I'm glad he never made any excuses and neither did Brown about his missed touchdown. The only thing that bothers me at this point is when someone saids "2 of 3 receivers make that catch..." when these guys are extraordinary and playing at the highest levels. Brown would never even say definitively that he would have made the Torrey catch and dragged his foot-in nor would '3 of 3' guys in the league. So after a great win - why would I as a Ravens fan question it?

It happens.

Reading the Steelers forum is making my night. :D

Hopefully the Bungles do their thing tomorrow and we're the last AFCN team standing.

Which thread were you reading?

Oh Steelers fans were posting obsene junk all over FB all week..things got REALLY quiet oh say about 8:30 last night.

Every post that had Ravens/Steelers on it, I would read the top comments for nothing more than entertaining. As I laugh at the Steelers fans, I would like every comment that said anything similar to "Raven Nation!"

lol I agree, it was just funny to point it out :P. He was very poised and polished, and didn't take the bait on any questions.

Seriously, how is that legal?

Agreed K-Dog and Dr. Kelley!  I swear I watched that play several times over and Forsett almost had that fumble back if not for getting treated like the wishbone at a chicken dinner by Shazier.  It is a wonder he wasn't hurt, and I was wondering why that wasn't called too.  Ya can't hold any hard feelings for Forsett over that one at all.

Matt Ryan gets a lot of hate around here.  The hate is more fueled by the fan-media interactions (especially the Joe vs Ryan) than it has to do with Matt Ryan.  He is a very personable, likable guy.  And a pretty good football player as well.

Personally I like the guy and wish him success.

I'm with you.  The comparisons are always going to be there, especially with the rumors that the Ravens explored trading up for Matt Ryan.  I think he can come off as lame at times (but no one can say they don't), but he seems like a good enough guy.

Not really sure they constitute as rumors as much as it was an actual event. I believe Ozzie himself was the one who told the media that they tried to trade up and what they were willing to give for him.

Listened to Pitt radio last night. I was impressed with the host. He and the majority of callers conceded that we have taken over.

What a great win/experience for our young guys. The tradition continues. We get to the playoffs and we make noise.THAT'S WHAT WE DO!

flacco has beaten manning,Brady and roethlisberger on the road in their respective houses. it's time to accept flacco unconditionally if you haven't. this team continues to play with guts and pure soul. man I am so proud of this team.

The fact that we( along with the packers) have the most road playoff wins In NFL history after only twenty years is staggering.

Regardless, you get the point.  No need to nitpick.

Last six playoff games (going back to 2011 season AFC title game), Flacco has outplayed Brady (twice), Manning, Roethlisberger, Kaepernick and Luck... with four of those performances on the road, one neutral site game, and one home game.

Flacco: 59% comp pct, 284 yards/game, 15 TDs, 1 INT in last six postseason games.

Combo of Ben, Brady, Manning, Kaep and Luck: 59% comp pct, 296 yards/game, 6 TDs, 10 INTs in same games.

I hope I can find a clip somewhere.
