Wild Card - Baltimore Ravens (10-6) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (11-5)

Oh man, cris collinsworth thank god I'll be at a bar and can't hear him talk.

I will say that they did an acceptable job at acting like semi neutral commentators this last game. I could even accept Collinsworth praising brown a lot and telling him not to give out a tell by tightening his gloves before a play designed for him. What was terrible was the thanksgiving game where he was slamming flacco calling him "Mr 120" which was what some Steeler "my man" was telling him to say when they (Michaels Collinsworth and the steelers) were partying at the hotel the night before the game. This was the worst, no pretense that Collinsworth was supposed to be a neutral commentator, just big buddies with the steelers. And some person says Collinsworth never cheers for the steelers. Yeah right.

That is why I give praise to him for last time they played when he did his job and pretended to be a neutral observer for the game .

Pretty pissed Clete is calling this game. He shouldn't be calling any playoff games. The rain might help us though. Could help force this into a game focused on running the ball.

Yeah, Clete seriously sucks, not just in Ravens game but officiating as a whole. Seen him screw up other games, started to think reviewing flags is the right move. IDK.

When is Chris Collingsworth going to be fired already?

That guy never gets his fact straight when talking about stats. He always sounds like he had a weeks worth of alchohol consumption that evening, and just strolled out of a bar to get to his work.

He isn't funny, he never gets his fact straight and his biased. Get rid of him NBC!

My biggest concern with the rain is the kicking game, punting and field goals, an obvious strength for us.

Nfl. Com is reporting Bell is unwilling to test out his knee and the steelers have scheduled an extra practice on Friday to give him one more shot. They also say Hailey is fine with just playing Bell even if he does not practice. I still think that Bell is fine and will play. Are The steelers are dumb enough to risk the franchise to play him in conditions where he can get more injured just to beat the Ravens? That is the question.

I just want the Ravens to win this game. Please win Saturday Ravens.

Hyperextended knees are a patience issue...  MINIMUM 2 - 4 Weeks...  and if you use it too early, it can cause huge problems down the road...  This guy would be absolutely stupid to go out there in the rain and mess and play on that knee...

Time Frame: Recovery from Hyperextended Knee Injury
  • A mild hyperextension of the knee may require only two to four weeks to heal. Rest and physical therapy will be the primary modes of treatment, and knee pain medicines may be prescribed. A knee that has experienced a ligament tear during the injury may require surgery and will likely require physical therapy and six to nine months of convalescence before returning to athletic activity.

Treatment
  • Immediate treatment of a hyperextended knee should include using crutches, elevating it when you are sitting or lying down and icing your injury. Acetaminophen also can reduce pain. Knee pain treatment will depend on the severity of the injury. Rest and physical therapy may be required for a mild hyperextension, while surgery may be an option for a hyperextension that has resulted in a ligament tear

Clete Blakeman???  Are you serious???  God, I can't believe it, just can't believe it!!!  Of all the referee teams we draw Blakeman and his crew?  :gaah:

http://www.steelersdepot.com/2014/12/clete-blakeman-referee-afc-wild-card-game-steelers-ravens/  Comments are good though.

http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2014/01/08/nfl-assigns-controversial-referee-clete-blakeman-to-broncos-chargers-playoff-game/24804/  Look out OPI here we come!

Yeah, he's the one that called the OPI on Steve Smith against the Bengals at the beginning of the season.

" He and his crew also flagged the most offensive pass interference calls this season. But he oversees slightly fewer penalties overall than the NFL ref average"

So, apparently, Torrey Smith despises the grass at Ketchup Field, calling it "terrible". With a lot of rain hitting the field tomorrow, it's going to be nastier.

Do you guys think T. Smith has a point there about the grass at Heinz Field?

Uh, yeah...I think everyone knows the field at Heniz Field is a joke...especially in poor weather.

Well that is a big help at least, sure the Steelers fans could use his absence as an excuse if we actually pull off a win but we can relate to these injuries and more.

Hmmm...interesing, no Bell.

One big potential benefit I see coming from this is Dumervil hopefully playing more snaps. He's been great this year. Only All-Pro we have on defense this season.

He's played out of his mind...well, except when Carrots puts him in coverage.

I thought we agreed on Walrus as his nickname a few weeks ago. Carrots is good, though. Maybe we change his nickname every few weeks?

We might have caught a crucial break with the Bell's unfortunate injury. When he isn't lining up there is heaps less to worry about on D.

No arthur brown

We're screwed.. This was the game he was gonna break out right?

Not just this game, entire playoff run.

Seriously though, I'm gonna miss Jernigan even with Ngata back.

Ravens LT Eugene Monroe (ankle) has been ruled out for the Wild Card Round.

Monroe had a disappointing 2014 while attempting to play hurt, but his loss is still a downgrade. The Ravens will force UDFA James Hurst into the starting lineup, with RG Marshal Yanda kicking to right tackle to replace RT Rick Wagner (Lisfranc). Fifth-round rookie John Urschel will start at right guard.

The biggest loss is Jernigan imo. Monroe has been just ineffective playing hurt. I'd rather a healthy Hurst against Harrison than a hurt Monroe again. Losing Jernigan impacts our DL rotation, which I really think is key to our defense.

Agree with 1/28, that field at Heinz is used by so many other H.S. and College teams in their area it could be classified as a sand pit.

Maybe Cody will get some burn in Jernigan's absence!?

Still probably inactive being that Casey Walker was activated over him on Sunday.

When their fans start the crap about us beating them because Bell didn't play, we have the history of keeping him to  what??? 29 yards in the last game???    He's not our biggest problem...  at all.

He averaged about 84 total yards in the 2 games this season

I agree that Timmy is a greater loss than injured Monroe. Rotation shouldn't be badly affected though - Ngata and Canty are back. Guy and Tyson played well lately, too.
