Eric DeCosta - NFL Franchise's annual quest to lure our heir apparent

And the speculation is over...

Both Ravens asst GM Eric DeCosta and Vikings asst GM George Paton have told teams they are staying put. So 2 off the market, for now.

I think a lot of the "XXXX is happy with the Ravens and won't take a promotion elsewhere" comes off as wishful thinking from fans, but in this case I agree with it for at least the foreseeable future. Getting a GM's salary, having a solid input on the team and being the clear successor to a guy who's hinted at retirement (personally I think he'll wait for the Alabama AD role to open up again) should be more than enough to keep him around - for the time being at least.

TBH at this point, I think Decosta is making a good amount of the decisions and him and Ozzie are at least equal, with Ozzie being the mentor and Decosta being the new generation of management.

However the structure is, I do think they have a really good working relationship.  They seem like one unit a lot of the time.

Eric DeCosta, one of the most sought-after general managers in the league, isn’t going anywhere.  I for one am glad he’s staying with the Ravens.
