Ravens Celebration Thread!

On a side note the Rams are giving the Seahawks a run right now. Would be nice to see the Cardinals take home field throughout the Playoffs so whomever makes it in the AFC is not stuck playing Seattle in the super bowl

Really only one dud in the second half of the season for our QB. Granted, that dud was an all-timer, but I'll take that kind of momentum heading into January, where he hasn't had a dud in years.

Not a pretty win, but the playoffs are back to week zero. All that matters is that we're in. To put it another way:That describes the Ravens perfectly! Only a Brit could come up with that. LMAO

Two, one at Heinz Field and the Titans one this season. Not bad considering I live 14,000km away and only started earning a wage six months ago. Otherwise I get up at 5am every Monday morning to watch.

Nice try buddy.

Nice try? just curious if you have ever made it to a game when you accused me of not being a fan because I moved my business to CO. I can't even count the number of games I have been to when I lived in Baltimore but my father was a season ticket holder so we couldn't let them go to waste

Ahhh.....yeah he does.    Like it or not John Harbaugh held this team together through everything they went though.   That's why he is our HC, why he's 88-44, and why he needs to stay.

Your opinion. He's the same reason why we back-doored into the playoffs. Harbaugh is a terrible game manager.

Maybe I'm alone on this one, but I'm not going to doubt that head coach that has made the playoffs in six of seven seasons. I don't like to say opinions are wrong, but yours is.

Harbaugh's record speaks for itself. Harbaugh haters don't know how good we got it.

Yeah, we'd have been so much better off with Troy.

(and I was a huge Troy fan, too)

We'd have Smith to Smith and Smith to Smith.

A lot of people in the game thread were hating on Joe and saying Shaw was playing better and questioned where clutch Flacco was, but come the fourth quarter, who showed up? For what it's worth, the Ravens had the best fourth quarter offense in years NFL, largely due to Flacco

Okay, Flacco did well in the 4th quarter. Like the Flacco of old that we all know and love. But anyone who was saying that  Shaw was playing better for the 1st 3 quarters...was right. Same as those that were stunned when comparing Joe to Keenum. Anyone who can not admit that Joe played poorly (and I am being generous) for those 7 quarters needs to get their purple shades adjusted. Fortunately the regular season is made of more than 7 quarters and Joe was at least good and often great for most of the others. Still, a fan can be mystified by the extremely poor performance of the entire offense for those quarters and hope not to see anything like that again.

Luckily, with the playoffs, we sweep the regular season under the carpet and start refreshed. At this point, everyone will be 0-0 and anything can happen.

I'd agree with this but his clock management is questionable at time's

That was just a reference to the other guy's brother - it just reminded me of the NFL Store ad.

I took that question as taking a jab, so that was my bad.

Honestly, I get wanting to be realistic about things from here on, but with everything the team's gone through just making the playoffs in itself is a nice accomplishment. I just genuinely don't understand going straight to having a go at the team for limping over the line. It's not pretty at all, but there's still something to be said for getting it done (see that Ian Holloway quote I posted a few pages back). With everything we've all gone through this season, it just makes more sense to me to celebrate what we've accomplished than to come down on what we did wrong is all.

So if you weren't trolling and I snapped, I do apologise. My frustration's more been compounded by the folks who only come out of the woodwork in the game day threads (and presumably the vent thread, without having gone in) when something bad happens.

Have to hand it to John Harbaugh. Ray Rice was the biggest negative story in the national media (not just football, media in general), we lost basically all of our corners, our most reliable offensive weapon in Pitta went down, Ngata was suspended during a key stretch of football...and we're 10-6 and playoff bound. I wish he would take the points sometimes but he's done a great job.

Also, Flacco shut me up. Very clutch in the 4th quarter. 8/9 161 yards 2 TDs.

To be 88-44 and a terrible game manager he must be one hell of a pre game manager

It was a tough season but this team is resilient if nothing else. Proud of the coaching and the players. These coaches are really underrated. To overcome these injuries is very hard to do.

No worries man, funny thing is last week after we lost to Houston I was on here posting that there is no way we should fire Harbs after 2 bad years if we don't make the playoffs. That would be a prime example of what San Diego did to Schottenheimer and they paid for it. Had a bunch of fans argue that Harbs should go and blah blah blah. Now I come on here and say we have work to do before we celebrate and I'm a turncoat lol. Regardless I love coming on here during the football games and hearing the latest Baltimore perspective since I no longer have my 98 rock. Glad you got to make it to some games over here and had a good time. Used to work with a lot of Kiwis overseas real good dudes

Lol... Joke City right here... Let's not forget, Harbs is still a relatively new headcoach. He's 7 years in, which is a good amount... But he was never a headcoach anywhere else. He's done a heck of a job and WILL get better. I hope he's here for another 10.

Well said H8r...  Me too.  He's got a helluva W/L record...  better than most coaches in the league.   People just have blinders on in some cases.

Like I say, the game thread's usually a cesspit of naysayers that come out of the woodwork when something goes wrong only to vanish when Joe puts five passes together. Given how tough it is to gauge intent, I think a lot of otherwise well-measured opinions can get lumped in with those other ones.

I don't think anyone disagrees with the sentiment that we still have a lot of ways to improve, but let us be homers for 24 hours. :D

And he's not having that dud with the season on the line like Philip Rivers did and like Matt "Matty Ice" Ryan is doing right now.

Considering we had an average, rookie LT, a rookie RG, and a Pro Bowl RG at RT, the oline played great. It amazes me how Yanda still dominated, even out of position at RT.

Yup...  Band-Aid O-line.... Band-aid D-line... and a Band-aid secondary...

Harbaugh is a horrible clock manager and his constant calls to go for it are going to burn us badly one day, but I agree with this. Overall he's a good coach, and you take the good with the bad and figure he can learn to get better.
