I can be convinced to give it to Reed :)

But the formula needs to be more sophisticated :)

sacks+tackles+PS's versus 3x(interceptions and fumbles)

or something like that :)
Definitely, the formula needs a little refinement, but is a good starting point for quick reference.
Maybe there should just be a total defensive performance formula period (like the QB Passer rating)

Maybe something like -->
(sacks * 2) + (INT * 4) + ((FF + FR) * 2) + (pass deflections + tackles for loss) + (TD scored * 8)
________________________________________________________________________________

10
Just for kicks, I might plug in Reed's numbers, and compare them to what I'd get for Harrison and Ware.

Of course, the formula isn't perfect, since guys like Ngata and Haynesworth will never be in consideration :huh:

While we're on the subject of the comparative value of stats, I've never understood why Sacks are seen as a superior stat to TFL. I mean, a sack you're tackling a (often stationary) Quarterback. On a TFL, you're tackling an NFL runner, who's primary job is to run away from people or run people over, and they have momentum on their side. So surely that's a much more impressive play than a sack?

Great point.
Guess I'm going to have to readjust my formula, lol..
I voted for Albert Haynesworth. He makes the Titans D go.
Man, that's an awful pick. There are at least 4 interior lineman as good or better. And the thing is I'm scared he's gonna get it, when he really doesn't deserve it. He's only so highly rated because mid way through last season someone felt like writing a redemption story and everyone knew who Haynesworth was because he stamped on someone's face.

Reed, no contest. His performance in these crucial games solidified it in my mind. Ray Ray should also be considered, he had a VERY quiet beastly year...
