Bad news for Ravens

67 posts in this topic

It will be the Charles and Davis show all day Sunday. Who knows, maybe Chase will throw a TD to an elusive Chiefs WR.... :eyes:

I don't expect to see too much of him. He's been demoted to third string duties recently, and he played zero snaps despite being healthy and active last week.

Wake up and smell the roses! We'll get a heavy dose of Terrence West this weekend, especially with an undrafted rookie starting at QB. You think there may be a few Towson State fans in the house?

I'm just not optimistic for the Chiefs. Let's look at it this way.

San Diego were said to be down and out, they come into the 4th QTR against the Ravens down by ten, then after that, lose two straight but and now down 28-7 against San Diego, but come back, now at 10-6 they're in the drivers seat now, I just can't imagine them blowing that game against K.C. I'v seen the Chargers for a while now, they're an urgent team, got a clutch win in Denver last year that put them in the playoffs, as it was their last road game.

It's very doubtful in my opinion, it's not saying I don't have faith in the Ravens, I just don't have faith in Kansas City.

Not likely. Isaiah Crowell is the lead back, and has been for quite some time now.

I can promise you that Mike Pettine doesn't play his players based on whether or not the game is in their home town.

Been several weeks since West was a big part of their gameplan, and I've seen nothing recently to suggest that will change.

Like always when I get these feelings, I hope you're right and I'm wrong. Have a great holiday season! I just hope the "Old Browns" beat the new Brownies. Disappointing news to learn Alex Smith won't be playing against the Bolts.

Meh. We have enough problems right now ourselves.

As I previously posted in the playoffs thread - let's just put this season out of its misery.

Anyone believing it was likely the Chiefs would win on Sunday regardless of whether this dude was playing was in for a very disappointing Week 17 anyway.

What's more depressing is that Monroe is listed as doubtful for the game, which means we are almost certainly to be without both of our starting tackles against a great pass rushing team.

To be honest Monroe has been the weak link in the line anyways I think losing Wagner hurts more. I'm interested in seeing where Yanda and KO end up playing my opinion is left to right Hurst KO Zuttah Urschel Yanda at RT. but I guess we will see

He might be the weak link, but he's also playing the hardest position. He generally faces the best pass rushers from most teams, and he often doesn't get a lot of help either. I think Wagner is better as far as run blocking, but I'd much more attempt to fill the shoes of a RT rather than a LT any day of the week.

Yeah I get its the tougher position but his play has been disappointing versus his play in Jacksonville. Or we could put KO at LT and Hurst at RT and leave Yanda at RG but I totally get where you are coming from

We ruptured Chris Simms spleen back in 06.

Yes, back when our defense was ranked right up there with them as one of the MOST physical in the league

Dr. Phil would have a field-day in this fan forum. We still are in the hunt, improved from last year, have over-come so much diversity all year long and...this?

GOOD NEWS: Nobody on the Ravens took a selfie with Beaver.

GO Ravens! Get 10! We got this.

In Sept. Most were praying for a 10 - 6 season....  Who'd think it wouldn't be enough?  Typically, it would be.

AND...  our QB had his best year statistically of his career....  and a guy Not named RR would be our leading rusher...

Watch the Chargers lose to KC just for us to lose against Cleveland lol

That's what happened last year. We needed miami to lose against the Jets and then if me would have won, we would have been in.

We weren't up there, we were thee most physical D in the league. I still believe that the 06 D was a tad better than the 00 D

I can see KC pulling off the upset since they already beat the Chargers back in week 7. Sadly, our team is so inconsistent that I can see us losing to the Browns and Houston getting in after beating Jacksonville. I actually think there is a greater chance of Oakland upsetting Denver than us beating Cleveland.

Is the bad news that we lost to the Texans?

The bad news is a portion of our team is lazy and almost seems like they would rather be at home then in the playoffs... how else can you explain the level of intensity the past 2 weeks?

I wouldn't get too upset yet....  Chase Daniels was 21 of 30 against the Chargers last year...  with a 70% completion rate...  The Chiefs are planning to rely on Jamaal Charles anyway, as the Chargers have a pretty crappy Run-defense...

Not so sure it's horrible news, but we'll just have to see.....  You know, the backups have been pretty good in this league lately...  :)

The first half and last Q of that game are the key elements as the early score predicts who commands the tempo and play calling and the 4th Q is Rivers time.  I like your positive. .

No, the bad news was losing to SD with a 10 pt lead with 5 min left to play.

I'll step in and say both hurt but the SD game was the definitive one as they held our berth since that loss.

Lazy equals bench and another job. .  Can't agree but thats why its a forum. In my opinion both Jacksonville and Texas played their hearts out and both teams had motivation like nothing to lose and we get our playoff berth.  They both reviewed the SD game vid and knew where they had to position players with predictable Ravens details (ie.Kubiak in Houston) that helped as well.  Simply put, they outplayed us. Who do you believe are the lazy culprits? Does that include coaches and special teams as well?

I was trying to be politically correct...  but yeah, I would think that too..  We were awesome....  Too bad we didn't have a decent QB then.

I often think about what could have been if we had Flacco then instead of Boller.

And think if we had Boller now instead of Flacco.  Cry, and appreciate what we have!

Alex Smith is out this Sunday with a lacerated spleen

yeah, gotta believe this is bad news...you never know but its gotten out of our hands. At least last year as bad as we were it was one win and we were in!

Well..Lets think about this. Bengals Beat Manning. SD comes From 21 down on the road to Beat SF with starting WR and RB out We lose to non roster QB Case Keenum and Flacco choked bigtime..then SD comes back From 10 down in the 4th to Beat Ravens in Baltimore...and the defense gavé up 21 points in final quarter.

Ravens made their own bed. Bad news is really how Ravens choked and blew it themselves is the reality. Maybe Chase Daniels plays great and KC wins, but the blame is on the team in  purple.

if we miss the playoffs at 10-6 that would be tough. we won the big one at 10 and 6
