Bad news for Ravens

67 posts in this topic

I wouldn't get too upset yet....  Chase Daniels was 21 of 30 against the Chargers last year...  with a 70% completion rate...  The Chiefs are planning to rely on Jamaal Charles anyway, as the Chargers have a pretty crappy Run-defense...

Not so sure it's horrible news, but we'll just have to see.....  You know, the backups have been pretty good in this league lately...  :)

I don't mean to understate Alex Smith's ability, but his best trait is his ball security; he just doesn't turn the ball over. As much as I like the guy, he doesn't really do anything special other than that. As long as Chase Daniels takes care of the the football and gets it to the playmakers, the Chiefs will be aight.

Not like Alex Smith does much anyway, maybe a Chiefs WR will finally catch a TD.

Daniel had the Chargers beat last year with backups (in San Diego too) until Succop screwed it up.

I don't think its so much about Smith being a great QB...

It has more to do with the fact that Daniels is making his first start in awhile, and Smith was the kind of QB who didn't win games but generally didn't lose games either. He doesn't turn the ball over frequently, and that's what the Chiefs offense is based on.

Its certainly not great news, but time will tell what impact it has.

Every team wants to win the last game so expect the Browns to let it all hang out. Beating the Ravens in Baltimore would make their day. Screens, end around, wildcat and even RB pass isn't out of the question.

Well..Lets think about this. Bengals Beat Manning. SD comes From 21 down on the road to Beat SF with starting WR and RB out We lose to non roster QB Case Keenum and Flacco choked bigtime..then SD comes back From 10 down in the 4th to Beat Ravens in Baltimore...and the defense gavé up 21 points in final quarter.

Ravens made their own bed. Bad news is really how Ravens choked and blew it themselves is the reality. Maybe Chase Daniels plays great and KC wins, but the blame is on the team in  purple.

The Steelers may have possibly knocked us out of the playoffs again.

NO. Ravens knocked themselves out of the playoffs. Nobody to blame but themselves.

No Doom and Gloom guys and gals....  Let's save the DOOM for Sunday and hope he gets a hold of the QB for The Brownies.....

I'm tellin ya'...  We're fine.... Look at the Chief's TD's this season.... You can count on a couple of fingers the number of passing TD's that team has had anyway... All but a couple have been rushing TD's. They've relied on the running game all year...  They're plan was to rely on Jamaal Charles anyway as the SD Charger's rushing D is horrid.... Silver lining is that Chase Daniel played last year in Week 17 against the Chargers... He was 21 for 30 and the Chiefs lost the game in OT by a score 27 - 24.

The Chiefs actually have 18 passing TDs, just none have gone to a WR.  The TE, especially Kelce, is a big part of their game.

What's more depressing is that Monroe is listed as doubtful for the game, which means we are almost certainly to be without both of our starting tackles against a great pass rushing team.

Alex hasn't used a long ball all season...  throwing more to the TE, true...  but on average... How many yards?  His average yards passing...  7.04 yards.

He definitely doesn't use the deep ball but there's still an offense there, even if it doesn't go deep or through the WR.  They're going to miss Smith.  He may not put up big stats but he does take care of the ball.

Terrence West ,from Baltimore and Towson State is looking to have a good game against the Ravens , who failed to draft him. He is now a Cleveland Brown running back that has shown flashes of great  things to come in his future career.

I don't expect to see too much of him. He's been demoted to third string duties recently, and he played zero snaps despite being healthy and active last week.

Crowell has been their play maker out of the backfield. We know their plan is to get the ball out quickly to their fairly talented Wr's, It will be a test for the secondary I believe.

Yeah...  Some have called him a game manager.  I've traditionally liked Alex Smith.  I was pretty confident for Sunday, because I thought he could handle them.  I think that San Fran did him wrong when they gave that spot to Kaepernick...  but...oh well.

We need a big game from Jamal Charles ... hopefully he has some incentives in his contract that he'd like to hit.
