Rick Wagner Out For The Season

63 posts in this topic

And luckily, both of our G's are capable of kicking outside to either T spot, although I'm sure we'd rather not have that happen.

Our only option to stay competitive is to slide KO out to RT and have Urschel play LG. We could slide Yanda out to RT and have Urschel play RG, but I'm not sure how I feel about Yanda pass blocking speed rushers.

Yeah..... I'm burnt out man. This season burnt me out. I'm not sure I woulda been able to handle a playoff loss. Beat the brownies and let's prepare for the offseason.

From what Harbaugh said at the presser, he feels confident in Monroe's chances of playing this week.

The question is do they feel Wagner is the long term answer at RT? If so, they won't have to draft early for OT. I think they really like him so that will probably be the case.

There's not even a question that he's the long term answer.

Oh so you've heard them say he's the long term answer?

No.  You don't need to.  He was one of the best RTs in the league this year.  Why would he not be the long term RT?

Obviously not.

But even you would agree that when you put a 2nd year player out there and he does as well as Wagner did for literally an entire season, I don't think that's a position you worry too much about replacing in the offseason.

I mean there's literally was (not sure about anymore) discussion about him being a potential Pro Bowl RT as recent as a few weeks ago.

In my opinion, by far one of the biggest surprises and best players overall on this team this season.

Easily pro bowl worthy this year and probably all-pro. He graded out as the top pass blocking RT and 2nd overall RT to Sebastian Vollmer.

Great... Another one bites the dust. This has been a trying year. What's that 18 on IR now?

Feels like this 'struggle' is going to linger to next year, year after that...after that.

This team has the talent to get it done, they just are not putting it together.   Wish Ray & Ed were here.

Ouch and Monroe is hobbled. Maybe Hardhead will get Hurst some help? Doubt it

Lol... You guys are classic...

18 on i.r. just think about how many people that will suite up sunday wont even be on the roster next year i think it's pretty remarkable that their is still a chance to make the playoffs. As much as we complain about the coaches i for one think they have done a great job.

The irony of it is that this team could actually use quite a bit more intensity...

So, I was just going through the names that were on the injured reserve: Dennis Pitta, Jimmy Smith, Ricky Wagner, Morgan Cox, Asa Jackson, Danny Gorrer, Lorenzo Taliaferro, Kevin McDermott and Terrence Brooks. Those 9 players, alone, were either starters and their replacements or significant contributors to the team.

Then, some of the other, more notable players on injured reserve include Aaron Ross, who was expected to add depth to the corner position, Jah Reid, Christo Bilukidi, Brett Urban and Kapron-Lewis Moore, the latter three all being defensive linemen who could have added much need depth to the position. The likes of Jeremy Butler, Will Rackley, Konrad Reuland and Tramain Jacobs (the lone exception, here, that actually made the 53-man roster, at some point in 2014) round out the I.R. list.

Couple this with Haloti Ngata's suspension, which, in a way, technically ended his (regular) season and, yeah; that's A LOT of players to overcome. In addition, Lardarius Webb, Kelechi Osemele, Eugene Monroe, Timmy Jernigan, Chris Canty, Michael Campanaro and Will Hill, the latter due to a 6-game suspension, all missed multiple games. And, Baltimore's running backs, Justin Forsett and Bernard Pierce, have been hit with the injury bug, recently.

Finally, something... something... about a player that wore jersey #27 from 2008-to-2013... yeah...

Wait! How does this team even have 9 wins?

Bingo. But its all John Harbaugh and Joe Flacco's fault. They're both bums and should both be fired.

I kinda don't want to make the playoffs after hearing this news, I just want the season to end and for us to get healthy. Flacco is going to get killed in the playoffs with a bad offensive line.

Just like last year, the stars won't align this year for us.

.

&Flacco getting hurt is what we DON'T need. They better come up with a good plan.......

you hit the nail on the head! If we were somewhat injury free we would be 12-4 this season .

It certainly may have turned one or two of those losses into wins.   Just like if we had our #1 CB in for the entire year we may have won at least two of our losses.

Could be a LONG recovery :-(

@RavensInsider: Ravens offensive tackle Rick Wagner had successful surgery today for Lisfranc sprain, per a source. Dr. Robert Anderson did the procedure

I hate to exaggerate but I can't believe how snakebit we've been this year. I guess that's the trade off when you've been healthy for years.

This is the first year in a while we've had this many injuries. Take the good with the bad

Its really unfortunate ricky went down, but he had to be the biggest surprise of the year.   No one would have ever thought he'd be the top RT in NFL.

The guy worked his tail off.  I hope his season isn't remembered for his injury @ texans game.   Hope the guy best of luck on recovering and get better, sharper and stronger next year.

Absolute stud and a future probowler.   GL Wagner!
