Ray Lewis or J.J. Watt

17 posts in this topic

theres nothing to discuss, Lewis is the best ILB to ever play the game and Watt doesn't even come close in the leadership catagory, Watt is the best defensive player in the game right now but the only way he makes people around him better is by drawing more blockers, Ray's leadership made everyone just plain better around him

As of Right now, Ray by a mile in terms of what they did in their careers. If we are talking best seasons though it would be a lot more interesting granted Watt isn't the leader Ray was.

Sweet Jesus......

revive this thread in ten years, and Watt may or may not have built up a resume that is in the same universe as RL.

Until then, take it easy on the egg nog :/

Seriously, compare their careers so far. By that I mean 4th year JJ to 4th year Ray. People may laugh at this, but JJ is one of the most dominant players of our generation and maybe one of the most dominant ever. He is making a mark in the history books. Ray may have him ij intangibles, but dont sleep on Watts either. Hes a leader as well in his own way. He keeps this up he's guaranteed HOF. He is changing the game at his position. And Ray was great, but me personally, I'll take a dominant d lineman over a dominant LB. Like someone else said, let me get both.
