Look, sometimes you just have to appreciate what you could. For the Ravens to finish with 9 (or potentially 10) wins, this season, after all these injuries and, more importantly, the Ray Rice fiasco, is still quite impressive. Sure, the playoffs seem like a stretch, at this point; but, wouldn't a better pick in the 2015 NFL Draft be better than just going to the playoffs and, at best, getting a single win?

The offensive line reverted back to its 2013 self, this afternoon, it appeared. And, it didn't help that Ricky Wagner and Eugene Monroe got injured, as well. Plus, Justin Forsett is beat-up, too. With no o-line or running game, is it any surprise that Joe Flacco couldn't get anything done? Nope! It was 2013 all over again, just with a less consistent group of receivers and tight end.

But, let's look on the bright side: For the team to accomplish what they have with, what, 17 players on the injured reserve, which some of them include the team's best offensive weapon (Pitta), shutdown corner (Jimmy Smith) and additional 5 defensive backs, is saying something. At this point, ending the year with a win against Johnny Manziel and the Browns, at home, will be a confidence booster for 2015!

EDIT: Oh, and not having a healthy secondary, except for Will Hill and maybe Lardarius Webb, really limits the potential that the front-seven has. Case-in-point, today, when not a single sack was recorded by the Ravens. All the Texans had to do to beat Baltimore's pass-rush was to just have Case Keenum, of all QBs, throw short, quick passes. And, the end result was a success for Houston.

You're very much spot on but it's not just having a better pick in the draft rather than playoffs. That's the formula for a losing culture. You'll never know what happens in the playoffs, saying "Hey, we get a better pick" is a losers mentality. You're right tho, 2013 all over again.

I am pretty sure we can get someone in the 2015 free agent.

Actually, we couldn't. If we cut Monroe, his salary cap number INCREASES from $7.7M to $14.3M.

In real terms, it means IF you wanted to replace Monroe (which they won't and shouldn't because there's no rational reason to), you'd be financially better off keeping Monroe anyway. Cutting him would almost guarantee you couldn't afford anybody else.

The Ravens biggest need next year is a big physical receiver of about 250-260 in the 6 foot 4 or 5 range who can run routes and beat up on middle linebackers. Heck I said this same thing in last draft, but it didn't happen. Let Torrey Smith walk next year. He is a panty waist. If it's yet possible, have Flacco restructure his deal so he can give back some of the money he's stealing. Same with Ngata whose been stealing for a few years. It's no secret why this was Ngata's best year in a long time. He was going for a new deal and was caught cheating. On top of all this, put the fear of god into Harbaugh because he's to soft on these players.

Anyone surprised...we struggled offensively vs two 2-win teams AT HOME!!! When people like Eisenberg and others praise Joe for his best yr to date...stats not worthy of the pro bowl. Stats out-shined or comparable by probably 5-7 QBs in the AFC. under the Joe/Harbs era....we've consistently started slow, in the upper tier in penalties, and fundamentals have lacked. Coaching issue, big time!!! Joe isn't a leader, non-inspirational, seems comfortable in mediocrity. Oz has signed some bad contracts and made dubious personnel moves or lack thereof. 2015 off-season will be interesting. Get a big time WR, get Campanaro healthy (we need the speed, quickness), and 1 or 2 CBs. Tread carefully on Torrey's contract and Forsett's. Remember people the ZB scheme turns out great RB seasons. Forsett is a great story but he's not worth big $$ And figure out what Matt Elam is???? geesh

The same can be said about the majority of the NFL teams. The Chargers are on their 5 center.

So that means its okay right?

We want to enjoy what Patriot fans have. They don't go 2 years satisfied w/o playoffs for rebuilding purposes. That's the standard Ravens fans want.

That's the standard I want as well, but calling Harbs and Ozzie losers is inappropriate.  They missed the mark, yes...but some people are asking for their termination.  Do you agree with that claim too?

No we can't.  There are only 2 guys worth it, Dez and Demaryius Thomas, and they're going to be resigned by their teams.  On the other hand, Demaryis was taken at 22 overall and Dez at 25 overall, which means it is possible to draft a guy like that even if you have to pick late every round.

Well something need to be done about our team..

Wait til Brady retires... 2 years of mediocrity will be something that fanbase wish they had.

We need to part ways with this selection of players next season.

1.Canty

2.E.monroe

3.Arthur brown

4.Steve and Torrey

5.Tyrod taylor

6.Webb

7.Bernard pierce.

Monroe's been hurt all season. And we're already going to be up against the cap because of Rice and Pitta. So, cutting Monroe makes no sense, especially with his work ethic.

I'd like to see what Arthur Brown can do once he's on the field before deciding he needs to go.

Until Torrey improves his fundamentals and develops some consistency, he makes a decent #2/#3 WR. We should keep him--but only for the right price. And Steve is still effective in a more limited role and he's relatively cheap. Jacoby is the guy who's been a waste at WR this year and is being overpaid to do it.

If Webb won't restructure, then yes, bye bye.

Ambivalent about Canty.

Agree about Taylor and Pierce.

Well something need to be done about our team..

We'll have a shot at some pretty talented to insanely talented receivers in the draft, especially if we miss the playoffs.  Every year we've had a shot at a great to elite talent if we were willing to take the shot - 2010 it was Dez (if we'd really wanted him we could have traded our 2011 3rd rounder or 4th rounder, Jah Reid or Tandon Doss, to move up and get him), 2011 we took Torrey (he's just not developed as completely as we hoped), 2012 it was Alshon Jeffrey, 2013 it was Nuke or Patterson we could have traded a pick for, or 2 shots at Keenan Allen, and this past year we passed on Cooks, Benjamin, Lee, and Martavius Bryant.  The question is will we take one this year or pass again?

Well something need to be done about our team..

Well, I doubt the FO goes into this offseason aiming to make this team worse.

What separates them from fans (beyond the vast difference in knowledge and experience) is that they don't overreact to one game and decide to cut players based on that, particularly when it makes no financial sense to do so AND we have nobody on the roster even remotely capable of filling that void.

They, like most sane and reasonable period, like to assess the season as a whole and make judgments about areas that need improvement.

Today, everybody thinks the entire offense needs to be fired. Next week, it will probably be something else.

If we miss the playoffs, that would mean that even during rebuilding seasons (which is what we've been in whether you want to recognize it or not) we we're one game away from the playoffs.  How spoiled can some of you become as fans.  Would you rather be a Jets or Redskins fan?

To be one game away from the playoff isn't anything to be proud of Alaska.  Either you are in or you are not!  We were one dropped TD pass away from playing in the Super Bowl a few years ago.  Was that suppose to make us feel good?  And if you call fans that want to win and that don't tolerate or accept our team missing the playoffs "spoiled"...then yes...fans like myself are "spoiled" and proud of it!  The question to you is would you find it acceptable for the Ravens to be like the Redskins, Jets, Jaguars or Raiders or like a team that is accustomed to sniffing the playoffs every now and then?  Or would you like the Ravens to be a team in like manner of the Patriots-who always seem to make it to the post season?  Hmm.

More than an adequate starter in this league, especially for the price that we paid him.

Monroe isn't going to cost us a lot of games, and frankly, neither is this offensive line when its healthy. It just seems that way because, again, they played horrible TODAY.

Can't even name how many games the offensive line has been by far our best unit on the field this season, and that includes contributions from Monroe as well.

I really don't have much to say. Last year this team had control of their destiny and blew it. Now they may do it again who knows. Lack of toughness and leadership, we miss Ray Lewis leadership far more than his game.

They already blew it again today by losing. All they had to do was win their last 3 games against mediocre competition, but that was obviously too much for them.

Who's better?  He's been playing hurt and there isn't a better option.  Nothing good would come from cutting him 1 year into his contract.

I'm not claiming we should be proud.  I'm claiming that even in rebuilding we have not had a losing season.  A non-losing season has been the lowest point of our franchise since the Harbs era.  It means nothing now, but years down the line, when Harb's era is done (and only if we manage to be perennial playoff contenders afterwards) we will look back on that with some form of dignity.

Will Marshawn Lynch,be a free agent next year?

He's gonna want big money. No thanks. We know what happened the last time we gave big money to an RB.
