Slick Move by Ozzie?

True, but we had the opening. Bet he's inactive on game days.

You're right. It was just a figure of speech. I never actually wager. I'm too tight with my money.

I recall there was some talk before training camp opened about possibly signing Case Keenum. That dude scares me! If he starts, he should be really rusty and he was 0-8 last season before he was released by the Texans. That being said, he could be the X-factor. They will be playing as loose as a goose now with no chance of making the playoffs. I'm not sure if we could have signed him but he would have been an experienced backup for Joe and is familiar with Kubiak's system unlike our No. 2 QB who gets paid for virtually doing nothing. Sam Koch is a great holder but I think it speaks volumes that the team doesn't even allow Tyrod to hold for the place-kicking. To me, it would have been a smarter move for Ozzie to sign him than claiming a DL off NE's practice squad. Oh well! I just hope it doesn't come back to bite us on Sunday, assuming he starts 'cause I think he's the odds-on favorite. I still think we win but it may be a real Texas shootout.

I would say its more common when it comes to trying to learn about the schemes and designs of another team. 49ers/Seahawks would always do this to each other like a week or two before they played.

The fact that its from the Patriots and its at a position that they are perceived as being weak at, to me, is mostly coincidental.

Taking a player from a team's PS a week or two before you play them is actually illegal.

Rule is actually that you can't sign a PS player from an opponent within 6 days of the game, or 10 days if they are on a bye week.

Ha! "Week or two" or 6-10 days. Ugh, no real difference. But hey, you got the last word and educated us once again. Thanks!

Not sure why everyone is so hostile to this idea. I thought something similar probably happened. It's a long shot with our health issues, but if there's an empty roster spot we need to fill it. Why not kill two birds with one stone?

Your post is akin to calling people haters for disagreeing with you. People aren't hostile they're just smart enough to know that signing a ps isn't getting insider info on a team.

Yeah you read far too deep into my post. I said why are people hostile to the idea.....meaning against it. I didn't say anything resembling "haters." I'd just call you haters if I felt the need.
