RB Lorenzo Taliaferro done for the year

21 posts in this topic

This thread title is becoming way too common.  Odd that he's done.  Did not expect this one at all.

Ravens place Lorenzo Taliaferro on injured reserve with a sprained foot

The #Ravens promoted offensive lineman Ryan Jensen from the practice squad and signed defensive tackle Casey Walker. Still one open spot.

I don't understand why we signed another defensive linemen at all and we actually signed another defensive linemen to our practice squad. I'm not Ozzie or Harbaugh but I would have atleast added a running back over  another defensive linemen

What started out as a day to day injury for LT, turns into a season ending injury.  The initial injury reports put out by Harbs and crew are the worst!!

I was actually surprised that Asa Jackson was put on season ending IR.  Reports stated that it was a PCL sprain and he would be out for 5 weeks.  IF the Ravens had a deep playoff run, he would be available for the AFC Champ game.

True, but you don't have the luxury of keeping a mediocre, probably below average corner on your bench taking up an extremely valuable roster spot for over a month in the hopes that he makes it back for the AFC title game... assuming you get that far.

And thats without any sort of guarantee that he will come back in time or that the Ravens will even advance far enough for him to be given that shot.

You beat me to it. I second this.

Interesting we used two of the spots for OL and DL. I'm glad Jensen got promoted. I think he's got a high ceiling sometime down the road.

Of course, that last spot will be for CB. Just a question of who and from where.

From the deep forests of Mordor. I think that would be a good place to go looking at this point.

I think OL made sense.  With Reid done for the year, we only had 8 on the active roster, even though Jensen is unlikely to be active.  Plus, it's poaching season.  It could have been a move to protect Jensen more than anything else.

Not sure about DL though.  Even though Walker played well, he's not likely to ever be active for this team with the guys in front of him.  He could be a 2 week rental until Ngata's suspension is up, if we make the playoffs of course.  It could also be a case of him being a guy that we liked and we wanted to get him now and keep him around for next year.

The last spot absolutely has to be someone in the secondary.

We need to give Forsett a break and I'm afraid Pierce and Trouissant aren't going to cut it. Should look at bringing in another free agent: Michael Bush? Stephens-Howling? Felix Jones? Bringing in a former Steeler can't hurt, right?

I get all that but keeping him on the roster and marking him as "inactive" is not much different than having an "inactive" HEALTHY Arthur Brown on the 53.

Well, Fitzgerald Toussaint is now the 3rd-string running back; so, there was no need to sign another RB.

Forsett shown on sunday that he clearly still  isn't a 100 precent(not even 80 precent) healthy from what ever injury he has. I have no clue how good Toussaint is or could be and Pierce is ok but he definitely isn't as good as he should be.  I honestly would have liked for us to have added a another power running back like Taliferro and since I saw that The Ravens were interested in Benjarvus Green Ellis earlier during the season it gave me the idea that  we would have gave him a try out.

There's 2 games remaining in the season....

Why in the hell are we obligated to share injury information? I think it's stupid! That should be internal, it doesn't benefit the team to disclose it... So why do it?

Ugh, that totally sucks. Injury bites us in a bad time. This year's schedule was totally easy. If it weren't for injuries like this we would be in a good spot.

THIS !!! ^^^

Dude, what about peoples fantasy teams??

But NOT this

I have NO CLUE why people think Harbs should be honest with US about injuries.   At what possible benefit ?  To do what ?

To accomplish what ?

Give the opponent the maximum heads up ?  Let them know who to prepare for and who not to prepare for ?

SMH
