We need to keep mcphee no matter what.

Im still p.o.ed that we had to lose Cory Redding ( the dude is still balling ) and another guy we lost that im mad about but understand because of the price tag was D.Ellerbee.    ( Still mad at Harbs for keeping him off the field for almost 2 yrs, that Dog house is for real)

I think so as well, but someone is going to pay McPhee big time and I'll be happy for McPhee and pissed we lose him lol.  He's incredibly disruptive both inside and outside.  It remains to be seen if he can play 40 snaps in a game for 16 weeks but his skill and technique is undeniable.

1. You can't overpay for somebody like McPhee. Its still going to come down to right player at the right price.

2. That dog house doesn't exist. Ellerbe didn't play for us because he wasn't a better linebacker than the guys in front of him. Its basically been validated now, as he was given a boatload of money to be the bigtime linebacker in Miami, and words can't even describe how disappointingly bad he's been in Miami. He will almost certainly be a FA this Spring when the Dolphins cut him. Nobody should be regretting letting Ellerbe go for one second. We are incredibly better off for not signing him.

I thought Ellerbee was playing pretty good until he got hurt this yr

Not even close. He was awful and was basically demoted. He was supposed to be the starting MLB in a 4-3 for years, and he was demoted to OLB and was actually playing situational for quite a bit.

Its official , the RAVENS are a farming system for players to go to other teams.lol

We Build'em , they pay'em

Just wish we could get atleast an extra yr out all them before we have to let them go.

Dam, i remember watching something about the dolphins on espn or nfl network last yr about Ellerbee being a leader on the def and playing good.  This was last season.

We basicly do the work for other teams. We take an unknown, develop them, and other teams steal them. It's frustrating.

And who doesn't with the best WR in the league. Seriously, nobody can slow him down, let alone shut him down. What did you expect?

It's not about shutting him down... It's about driving on the ball, and making a play. He seems to not be able to break up any passes. I'd love to see the qb rating when thrown at Webb, I'm betting it's a very high number . Webb got beat by a rookie a number of times too... It's not like he was only getting beat by brown.

Before injury, I heard talks of a cut or even a trade. He was horrible by most accounts.

No, he's been mediocre at best. Product of our system and Mr. Lewis.

I think Redding is a guy we could well re-sign this off-season. Just a hunch, especially if we cut both or one of Canty and Ngata, which is possible. I think if we cut Ngata, we'll sign Redding or someone similar.

Webb also had no help with Jimmy getting hurt in that secondary as well as coming back from a number of injuries. Give him a bit of a pass. He definitely has gotten better each week since the beginning.

Redding's my man. He's a tank.

That's what I tried telling the people I watched it with. Doesn't hurt as bad since it doesn't who in the league is covering Brown, he's gonna get his... Webb still needs to play better though with the missed tackles

Agreed, but he has a decent game. Brown's going to destroy everyone this side of Revis and maybe Revis as well.

Melvin has actually continued to look good. How was he on PS with chykie and guys playing. He has shown much better ball awareness.

I don't give seasoned vets a pass, Webb is supposed to be the veteran playing the best in out DB backfield, not holding on for dear life and missing tackles. The injuries speak to his lack of durability , either he gets healthier or he gets released. He hasn't even been the best DB on the field this year... And that's sad.

I have a feeling McPhee will be the next Adalius Thomas. Some bad team will sign him to be the guy but without guys like Suggs, Ngata, and Doom occupying so much attention he won't do much. Maybe he proves me wrong but right now I think the Thomas comparison is spot on.

How long is Redding's contract w/ the Colts?

I love C.Red , it's been well documented... But we have too many stud d-lineman unless he wants to be depth. IMO.

He's a FA in the offseason, but he also may strongly consider retirement, as he will be 34/35 next season.

I doubt the Ravens would bring him back as anything more than depth. We've got some pretty solid youth/depth on the DL.

Agreed, Kapron Lewis-Moore and Brent Urban are two who I hope can provide quality depth.

Maybe not a bad comparison, though ADs athleticism was of the freak variety.  McPhee is the only guy we've had since AD though that can rush inside and outside while being effective at both.  Like I said before, it remains to be seen if he can do it for 16 games as a starter, but if I'm him I look to go to a team that has some talent in the front.  Not many guys can be stand alone guys like Suggs was for a good 6 years.

Hate to tell you this man, Lewis-Moore hasn't played football in over two years, guys in the position he's in his position tend to retire.

Not sure about "retiring" as much as he will face stiff competition for a roster-spot that he isn't guaranteed. If he's healthy, he may find somebody interested in him for deep depth, but it may not be the Ravens.

We will see.

Which is probably what he wants as well considering he is going to be 35 years old.

I really only see a few stud DL and they're Williams, Jernigan and Ngata. Ngata may not even be here. After them, we have the forever injured KLM, Canty who may be cut just like Ngata, a guy with potential in Urban, Tyson who has looked okay in a limited role, and Guy, who's more of a complement albeit an underrated one.

I don't see a plethora of DL prospects here who wouldn't benefit from adding Redding. Two of our DL are coming off injuries, and two could be off the team. Then you have two more who will be in their second and third years respectively next year.

Hopefully Melvin can keep it up. So far he reminds me of Cary Williams.

Cary played more off coverage and he let up a lot of 10 yard completions. Melvin reminds me more of Jimmy Smith. Seriously. He's a big, physical corner with good technique and instincts. He hasn't been tested like Jimmy has against guys like Megatron, but so far so good.

Melvin is a good pick up, but I feel like he's going to see the same kind of treatment marlon brown has gotten this year after a big year last year.
