He played very well.  They even tasked him on Antonio Brown at times and he held his own.

If he holds his own next week then heck yeah he should have a chance for the #2 spot. Do we control his rights next year??

Rashaan is an exclusive rights free agent according to spotrack ( http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/baltimore-ravens/ ), a typically reliable source. Thus apparently if we offer him a 3 year contract at the vet minimum he either has to take that contract or leave the NFL entirely because we control his rights. Thus I'd say we pretty much have 100% control over him and I couldn't be happier about that

He'll be an ERFA, so technically, yes.  He doesn't have a formal contract for next year but we'll renew it and he'd be a RFA the following year, I believe.

Yeah he played pretty well. I was really, really impressed with our whole secondary, particularly Webb and Hill. I finally wasn't screaming at Elam either. Elam had a good game as well.

There was that one play we sacked Ben but had Upshaw in zone coverage on Brown. That was... interesting.

he's signed a new contract a few weeks ago. 50 odd mil

Oh. I must have missed that. Smart for the Broncos. He's much better than Talib. Nothing against Talib, but Harris is up there when you talk about CBs.

You were impressed with Webb? ELAM did play pretty sound , I didn't have a ton of criticism for him... One play though , he passed of a WR and covered the middle of the field ... That wasn't occupied by any steelers . He just does things at times that make you scratch your head.

Webb had a very good game. I'm not sure who was on brown that huge TD play, but beside that, Brown was very limited, with Webb being on him a lot.

Brown is the best WR in the game. I'll take that game anytime. Haden is consider a top 5 corner, but Brown abuses him when ever the Browns play the Steelers.

Webb was awful. He was Ratley on brown. Anytime the ball was thrown to Webb it was complete, expect when stewart pushed Bryant out of bounds in the EZ.

He missed numerous tackles as well

I wouldn't say awful. No one has been able to cover Brown this year and Ben helps when it can extremely tough to take him down.

Webb wasn't involved in that play.  It was a zone between Miles and Stewart.  Brown was in stewarts zone.

I don't think Melvin playing well changes or alters our need to get at least one more corner (via the draft or FA... draft preferably) this offseason, and maybe even two.

You've got Jimmy coming off a significant foot injury in a contract year, and Webb with a huge salary cap number and extremely disappointing production for that cap number (and a history of injuries himself), and then a bunch of essentially depth/replacement level corners like Asa.

I've been working under the assumption that 2015 will either be the last year Webb is on this team, or he stays at a massively decreased salary. In which case, you've still got major long-term question marks at corner heading into 2015.

I don't think Melvin's emergence as a solid corner changes any offseason strategy we would have at the position.

Very underwhelming performance.  He needs safety help over the top cause he gets beat on the regular to me.

Especially in the very beginning of the game. It look like he didnt know who he was supposed to cover and he was getting lost on the field.  Might have been nerves , i dont know.

That's pretty tough condition to put on a guy with 2 NFL career starts. He's a keeper regardless of what happens on Saturday but if he handles him well, it will let us go BPA in the draft and maybe even get that 1st round WR that we crave for.

I agree he held up well and I can see him being the 2nd or 3rd CB and allowing us to go BPA. Interesting name I have followed especially if we lose Mcphee, is Eli Harold OLB from Virginia 6-4 250 a monster always in the backfield but also leaves the door open for CB or WR or whatever.

That is correct Melvin Aiken and Levine all fall into this category and I hope we resign all 3

Overthecap had them listed as ERFA's

Ignore I said that then lol.  I trust OTC much more.  I wasn't really paying attention there and thought I was looking at OTC, not Spotrac.

Yeah I've always been a bit confused between ERFAs and RFAs.

ERFAs you basically have to tender by a certain date or they become unrestricted, whereas RFAs can sign qualifying offer sheets with other teams and can be matched by the existing team.

You can get draft pick compensation for RFAs but not for ERFAs.

And who doesn't with the best WR in the league. Seriously, nobody can slow him down, let alone shut him down. What did you expect?

That's what I tried telling the people I watched it with. Doesn't matter hurt as bad since it doesn't who in the league is covering Brown, he's gonna get his... Webb still needs to play better though with the missed tackles Edited by Gordo52

We need to keep mcphee no matter what.

Im still p.o.ed that we had to lose Cory Redding ( the dude is still balling ) and another guy we lost that im mad about but understand because of the price tag was D.Ellerbee.    ( Still mad at Harbs for keeping him off the field for almost 2 yrs, that Dog house is for real)

1. You can't overpay for somebody like McPhee. Its still going to come down to right player at the right price.

2. That dog house doesn't exist. Ellerbe didn't play for us because he wasn't a better linebacker than the guys in front of him. Its basically been validated now, as he was given a boatload of money to be the bigtime linebacker in Miami, and words can't even describe how disappointingly bad he's been in Miami. He will almost certainly be a FA this Spring when the Dolphins cut him. Nobody should be regretting letting Ellerbe go for one second. We are incredibly better off for not signing him.
