Per @Ravens, the Texans won't publically announce their starting QB until Sunday.

Considering their options, they really have nothing to gain by making the announcement. Surprise is the only advantage they have. However, even that isn't much of an advantage when either way it's "Surprise, he sucks."

At this point it doesn't really matter. Our defense is only as good as our pass rush at this point. If we run into a good offensive line it will be up to our offense to win a shootout. And the Texans have historically had a very good offensive line.

I agree with this. Just curious about the matchup.

Well if they had a good QB I would say we could be in trouble due to their oline .

We should win this game .

Cason or Melvin both match up well physically, although covering Johnson is a scary proposition. Webb did shut him down in the playoffs back in 2011.

Melvin looked really good last game. He reminds me a lot of Carey Williams. Similar height and build. 6'2" 193 vs 6'1" 190 for Williams. I admit, I am a little concerned about his lack of experience against the veteran but if he is assigned he'll need to rise to the occasion. Webb could very well get the assignment, I just don't want to see an injury.

They give up a lot of yards to opposing offenses, but they create a lot of turnovers and are tough in the Redzone, which limits points given up.

So they won't announce if it is going to be a terrible experienced back up QB or a terrible inexperienced back up QB? What a deceptive move on their part - unbelievable!!! lol

J.J. Watt? The last time we played this team which was the return of Ed Reed to M&T Bank Stadium(check bounced due to insufficient funds), I believe that team was better than this 1 but you can never underestimate any team!

Not gonna lie, I'd completely forgotten about that game. But then, I guess it was a forgettable season.

i think joe flacco need to get marlon brown and torrey smith going early in the game marlon should get a touchdown this game give steve smith some hail mary on first downs get him going dont throw the fullback the ball unless he catching it use the te to cover the middle idk offense confusing right now bout i do know marlon need to get going. but on defense i think we need to go in here and keep covering the pass nd play action run because fitz patrick is going be looking for the sack so we need to play concealed and pound them wit the run

We played em in 2012 and got molly-whopped in Houston. I think that game helped lead to the "mutiny."

Never mind, you're right. I completely forgot Reed even played last year and Flacco did him up twice, once with the Texans and the other on the Jets. I forgot we played the Texans too.

What worries me about Houston is we have never played well against them due to their dominant lines on

both sides of the ball .

Here's hoping this changes and Kubiak certainly knows their weaknesses .

We did beat them 30-9 at home last season. Didn't play great I guess, but certainly not poorly.

Yep, Reed's 1st game back as a non-Raven.  After the game, Suggs was yelling across the field to Reed, "Is this what you left me for?"  LOL Gotta love Suggs.

Just checked the Texans record and they only have 2 wins vs teams that are .500 or better.   They beat the 7-7 Browns and the 8-6 Bills.

Facepalm... You can't plan/predict games to go like that... And Fitzpatrick is not even playing, he's on IR.

I SURE hope so. But I'm very intrigued by what Kubiak's gameplan is going to be.

I wonder too but I'm sure it will include a heavy dose of three former Texicans, named Forsett, Owen Daniels and Jacoby Jones who will all be out to prove something to their old team. Kubiak will also design a scheme to reduce JJ Watts' effectiveness by calling roll-out passes and/or naked bootleg plays for Joe. The recipe also includes holding Foster under 100 yards rushing. If anyone should be familiar with Houston's tendencies, it would be Coach Kubiak. The game will only be close due to our poor secondary play but I still like our chances. TCB!
