Vent and/or talk about the game : Jags

I think the struggles of the run game are attributed to Justin being hurt and a very dominant and underrated Jaguars DL, of whom people shouldn't underestimate. Furthermore, their ST was fantastic and their ST coach was especially good. Bortles will be a very good QB if you give him an OL and that should be top priority for Jacksonville this off-season. I think they will contend for the playoffs next year.

On the subject of the Ravens, let's start with Tucker. Those looked like two high snaps to me. I might need to watch again though. Furthermore, on the subject of the WR, they still struggle. Brown had a good game, though the Jaguars secondary isn't that good. Daniels and Gillmore played really well. I think Gillmore can become another Todd Heap for us. I'm excited for him.

I think we need to give Forsett some rest. He's hurt and I think it's evident. But maybe I'm wrong there. I'd like to give Toussaint a try. I was very impressed by him in preseason.

Melvin looked really good in limited play. I'm not sure if he's great or if the Jaguars just didn't know who the Hell he is. Could be both. He'll get a great test next week against two very good WR. Speaking of the secondary, it's snake bit. If we fail to make the playoffs, I'm ready to give all the coaches and Ozzie a break. I don't think they could've prepared us for this. I think Steve would agree.

The pass rush has looked very good. It's legit. Suggs, Dumervil and McPhee are beasts. On that subject, I think Jernigan is putting some real pressure on Ngata

Way too many penalties the past few games. We're playing really undisciplined and that reflects on the coaching staff. And is Camp still not ready to go? I like Torrey, but Marlon has been more reliable then him.

Do we give Camp a roster spot next year if he cant play well for rest of the season?

Sure.... why not ? We haven't had enough sample size to know. He's played what in two games?

I havent seen anything from crockett to tell me he is anything more than a depth guy. I dont like when folks put all their chip on the line i.e chykie brown/gino gradkowski based on few sprinkle of snaps here and there. I also think next year is a good draft season to grab a legitimate value TEs that can pull some yards in the field.

We also need to give a spot to marlon, coby, steve, and maybe aiken. Add to that, a high draft pick and possibly another one in later round.

If camp cant show up b4 playoffs, i think his done.

Think your giving up way too early on rookies man.

It's way too early to make any judgment on that.  He's looked good in his few stints out there.  I see no way that we give up on a guy that has shown flashes of ability so early.

I can understand that but I really do like what I've seen from Gillmore. I've never been of the mind that you ignore a position just because you have players there. In fact, in my post I never said we're set at TE. I just think his upside could be another Todd Heap, though of course it's too early to say.

With that said, TE class is very weak with no real standout player. I don't think it's as strong as you do and I think it's very reliant on juniors and a sophomore to declare to make it worth anything.

Why in the world wouldn't we? He was starting to break out pre-injury. I'll concede his durability is a question but he's very talented and could be a staple of our offense in the future.

continuing to lose secondary players hurts, but i mean this has been plaguing us all season. I'm starting to come to terms with it. We don't have a secondary. We never really did have one all season. And, if we make the playoffs, we still wont have one. We just have to grind it out and get help from other parts of our team.

that leaves the Ravens with only Campanaro, Marlon Brown, Kamar Aiken and Jacoby Jones for receivers. For a 7th-round pick with potential, Camp's a part of the "future" with this team.

And someone will say how great our receiving corps is lol

That thought is just depressing tbh. Do you understand how a 7th rd pick injured most of his rookie year should not be relied upon in any fashion to be the "future" of a team's receiving corps?

ugh.

You must be kidding. Have a long, hard look again and note how much he contributed to our running game this season. He hasn't been required to catch too many passes but what was thrown to him, he caught. Gilmore is a stud, he will be great player for us.

Gilmore is a great blocker and so far, he has come through and done what's asked of him but we have not asked that much of him. There is no way to know at this point if he will or will not contribute on the receiving end like say, a Pitta or Daniels in his prime.

Enough about what woes we are about to face on the receiving end next season - managed the needed win today - and it's on to Houston.

sidenote: With a 99.4 rating - playoff Joe is still in the house!

If the same offense that was on the field today shows up next week, we are not going to the playoffs.

Do you really think that even if we got in the playoffs we can win with the secondary we have ? Not a chance .

Yes, there is always a chance.  Our front 7 will be improved with the return of a fresh, healthy Ngata, which will put additional pressure on QBs.

I was just saying we won't beat Houston with today's offense.

We always seem to play down to the opponent . This game didn't surprise me .

We will play much better at Houston .

I know some want to complain about the offense but the Jaguars have really frustrated some very good offenses before this season. Despite their secondary not being great, they have a hell of a d-line. To see them playing well like that didn't shock me too much.

I don't think Gilmore will be the same type of tight end as Todd Heap. He simply won't have Heap's catching ability. That being said, he could be a very reliable receiver and a very good blocker, making him a great tight end to have around.

The Jags were really throwing the kitchen sink at us, have to give them credit for playing hard.

Those ST trick plays told me one thing: they FEARED the bully also known as Joe Flacco!

I think as it sits now we're second in the league in dropped passes.

Not surprised.

Playoff Joe is the bully, the monster, the beast.

TB and Atl. Myth. I really hate hearing that.

This also caused our D to spend too much time on the field but the Jags were a 2-11 team with nothing to lose. I'm sure Harbs wasn't too pleased. They also had another ST gaffe when they allowed the clock to run out and backed the ball up and then missed the FG. Inexcusable

I told people last week the jags front four was good.

And yet they were like naw walking in the park game.

Any given Sunday.

Yeah that group is no joke, probably the strongest part of their team. I really like the fact that we didn't give up a single sack against that group granted they did get pressure a few times. Just because they are the Jags doesn't mean that they can't have any good players lol

Agreed, I figured this one wouldn't be pretty but I was about 95% sure we had it considering how bad their O-line was. It got even worse when Linder left as well as McPhee crushed his replacement not long after he left. That O-line is what is really hurting the Jags and why I didn't get on the preseason hype train for them but if they fix it, they have a shot at being really good. Their defense is a very solid group and they have some decent receivers if Bortles gets some time to operate. I would love to see them get better and give the Colts more of a challenge in that division.

These ST penalties need to stop. It's becoming a trend.

Perspective change after a draft & FA.   Especially if we get 2 receivers.  He has been injured twice so far since draft.  As much as the organization likes him, he might be the poor guy given the door.

So who is first?

Of all teams, Indy, by a fair margin.  According to the Washington Post, we were tied for 12th at 22, with the 4 drops we are at 26, good for 2nd most in the league - the Colts receivers have dropped a ridiculous 35 passes.

Its why i pose my concern.  Considering the opportunity he has right now, he hasn't shown much to the coaches to get out there and stretch the field as a weapon on passing game.

I have a feeling we will load few weapons on WR/TE from drafts/FA.   Crockett might be doing the same thing his doing now.  Basically bajema 2.0 role in 2015.
