Week 15 Discussion (Other Teams)

Cutler is sooo booty man.

You got that right! Still think Tyrod could win that job, serious! Chicago is one sorry team! If they had to put up with what happened to our secondary? That's a number one draft pick and they'd screw that up too! I just live here I was born there! I will have to give it to the Bear fans who are my friends now but they earned it! Nice call!

The bears are coming back! Alright I live in the CST. The local news just started here. I would turn the channel but for those of you still trapped by it, odds of Cutler throwing an int? Wait for it, wait for it! Thanks Katt Williams don't sue me just like the phrase!

Cutler just may be the worst full time QB in the league right now, hard to think of any full time QBs I would take Cutler over, maybe Kaep or Dalton but it is really close

Cutler's so bad, he turned off the light switch and threw an interception before the room was dark..

He must have a rocket arm to pull that off, except he has zero accuracy...

I agree it's between those three. Maybe Foles, but not enough info on him, yet.

Yeah he is an unknown at this point, he has had some good and some bad but not enough of either to make a clear call on where he stands

He's really on the fringe of even being considered a franchise QB like the others. Eagles and Cardinals are the two teams with question marks. Then, there are 19 definite franchise guys with very little chance of going anywhere anytime soon, four teams now starting rookies, and seven with definite immediate needs at the position.

So, I guess even if you put Cutler below the other 18, the Bears are arguably still in better shape at the position than 13 teams. So they got that going for them.

Yeah for sure, things could be a lot worse for the Bears. QB is just such a hard position to find in the NFL and I don't see that improving anytime soon.

ESPN just announced that John Gruden re-upped for the lenth of the TV contract. Good for you coach, keep telling it like it is "Chucky!" Man knows football, much respect!!

Just great... 7 more years of listening to how he loves every player in the league. It also means 7 more years of watching MNF on mute.

Though, let's be honest. There is probably some provision in there that allows him to leave if he wanted to come back and coach again.

How about Michael Vick (or Geno Smith), Kyle Orton (or E.J. Manuel), whoever is starting for Tennessee, Ryan Fitzpatrick (or Ryan Mallett), Josh McCown and Robert Griffin III? Or, are you not counting any of them as full-time QBs?

Vick and Smith take eachother out in terms of being full time QBs, I don't see Orton being the long term guy there as of now as he was signed just before the season started and didn't start till a couple weeks in, Houston is a mess at QB so no one from there, RGIII has been on the bench quite a bit this season as well, and you summed it up for the Titans lol. Talking guys who are the clear cut guys for their team at QB.

I think the term that better sums up his point is "franchise QBs" instead of full-time. For my definition of that, you have to be the clear-cut number one for your team for at least a couple seasons, and it has to be obvious that you will remain the number one guy (barring injury or something strange happening) going forward. None of the guys you mention fit that bill.

Bills, Jets, Browns, Texans, Titans, Jags, Raiders, Redskins, Vikings, Buccaneers, and Rams all have either a first-year starter or major question marks at QB moving forward. Cardinals and Eagles are question marks due to injuries. That leaves the other 19 teams with franchise QBs at this moment, and very few have one as bad as Cutler is right now.

Just for fun, I'll put them into tiers according to my opinion.

Tier One - Brady, Brees, P Manning, Rodgers

Tier Two - Flacco, Luck, E Manning, Rivers, Roethlisberger, Romo, Wilson

Tier Three - Newton, Ryan, A Smith, Stafford, Tannehill

Tier Four - Cutler, Dalton, Kaepernick

The order within each tier is fluid for me, so I just listed each alphabetically. For what it's worth, I would have listed Palmer in Tier Three and Foles in Tier Four before their respective injuries.

Tier one has 2 senior citizens.....

Your tiers are based on their stats and successes with their team over the years?

To a certain extent. It is based on what they have done as well as what they are doing and what I expect them to do in the near future. Those two senior citizens have put together MVP-type seasons and led their teams to 11-3 records. They are co-favorites to win the AFC championship this year, and have combined for 8 such championships in the past. Definitely tier one.

Now, if I was making a list of QBs to start a brand new franchise around, things might be a little different as I would factor in a more distant future. That's a different list. These tiers are based on right now.
