Also what will happen with Kubiak desciples Owen Daniels and Justin Forsett 2 pivitol offensive pieces? Hopefully this doesnt alter their decisions in free agency, I'd like to see em back as semi cheap re-up deals.

Since it appears Kyle Shanahan is taken I wouldn't be surprised if Juan Castillo got the OC job. I believe he was the OC in Philly the year Andy Ried got fired and has experience with the OL in the Kubiak system. Not the best choice but he is one of Harbs buddies.

Bite your tongue. The depressing news has been enough for now.

He was the DC and was a colossal failure.

Making him OC is just saying that they don't care about the offense.

Oh! If he was the DC in Philly  rather than the OC then I agree he should not get the job.

Why? For all we know he could be a crappy DC but a great OC. People don't want to give assistants without OC experience a chance. There's only one way to give them experience and see if they're any good at it. I would not be mad if he became the OC. I would be interested to see how he does.

THis Kyle Shanny thing is weird...Was he hired as an OC or a Head Coach? Who's ATL's head coach?

The Falcons have pretty much made it crystal clear they want Seattle's DC Dan Quinn as their new HC. They've had to wait and wait because Seattle keeps winning, but they went ahead and made the move to get Kyle Shanahan as OC (that part I found really weird).

I figure you let your new HC hire the staff he wants, but I guess they got scared that Kyle wouldn't be there by the time Seattle's season was over.

Another reason I'm surprised Shanahan took the job so fast. Unless Baltimore said to him they weren't interested, wouldn't your job be more secure being hired in with the blessing of the HC rather than as someone handed to a new HC? Whatever, doesn't matter now.

I've seen this a couple times. He was made DC after Philly fired their DC and without him ever coaching on the defensive side of the ball. No wonder he failed .. he's a purely offensive minded coach.

1996 Offensive Assistant; 1997 TE coach; 1998-2010 (13 seasons) Offensive Line Coach

2011 is when he took over as DC, fired in 2012 and went back to offense as Ravens OL coach in 2013. Saying he's no good because of his job as a DC doesn't make much sense .. he should never have been a DC. But that's Philly for you.

Serious question: You are offered your dream job, but you promised loyalty to someone else. Don't be a hero. Don't play the moral card. Be honest. Do you take your dream job or don't you?

I would, how often do those opportunities come around in life? I hate the circumstances with all of this but I can't fault Kubiak for taking it since I would probably do the same thing.

I honestly have no clue where we are going for OC now though...

KUBOOM! Wow, I understand about him wanting to take the Denver job, but the timing and the fact that we'll likely lose two assistants is a real kick in the pants.

Of the HC's who got fired, is there anyone you would want as our OC?

I'm surprised The Ravens aren't even putt up a fight to keep Dennison. It's like they don't even want to keep Gary Kubiak offensive system

Nah man.  If Dennison wants to chill with Kubs, then we can't be jerks and try to interfere with that.  Those are the kinds of acts that get you labelled as a bad organization.  We're no longer the Cleveland Browns so we don't play that bad organization mess here.

Kubiak's flip flop has cost the Ravens very very dearly . The valuable window to choose desirable offensive coaches has narrowed considerably with Shanahan going to Atlanta

For all those giving props to Kubiak , think about that ,

I can't believe this. Denver is a sinking ship and it's captain is going to go down with it!

Good riddance to Kubiak and his cronies I say

Without experienced assistants, (assuming we lose Dennison) we will most likely have to scrap the offensive system. We could promote Castillo, but we would have nobody for oline coach (a very important position with the ZBS), and I'm not real confidant with him calling plays. Unfortunately it looks we will have a new offensive philosophy next year regardless. This sucks...

And the metaphors and similes for Gary's departure to Denver continues. Very poetic by the way.

Wouldn't surprise me if this entire fiasco was planned. We are in competition with the Broncos after all.

I mean, think about it. Media is speculating that Fox could be fired if the Broncos lose. Kubiak comes out with that big unsolicited announcement about building something great. Elway doesn't fire Fox right away, no waits a day. Doesn't ask to interview Kubiak right away, waits a few days. Let's all the good options make other commitments. Then he makes his move. Done deal, neat as a pin, Ravens are left scrambling through the leftovers.

Just a thought.

Love it! Good conspiracy. Who knows? If true Ravens get duped again (Pats eligible/ineligible scene). So, is it the Ravens are just not smart enough or do the Ravens keep maintaining the high road with their conduct and therefore get taken advantage of.

My original point had been based on the assumption that he had OC experience from Philly in place of DC. However you are correct! It doesn't mean he won't get the job or wouldn't be good at it. He just has no proven ability as an OC.

We may not be as good without Kubiak Dennison ans Pariani sp, but I have no doubt that Ozzie Decosta and Harbauhh will find someone that is a good OC or someone who is really deserving of a chance. I also believe they will be continuing within the wco and zbs schemes.

I really feel bad for Flacco considering every yr we have to change OC.

Go Ravens
