Hopefully we can discover in a few hours....

"Request Denied."

If he wanted to interview the Ravens wouldn't deny the request.

I don't even think they are allowed to deny it, are they?

not sure since we are no longer playing, but I'm guessing it may depend upon whether he is under contract.

I don't think they can deny it. I know you can deny a lateral position interview such as Offensive Coordinator to Offensive Coordinator for another team if he is under contract but upward interviews cant be denied I don't think. Even if it could that would be extremely unprofessional.

The Ravens can not deny a coordinator's "promotion" to HC. They can deny other assistants from interviewing after the staff has already been raided.

If Kubiak does leave, hopefully Pariani or Dennison will stay and keep the system in place...

If Kubiak goes no doubt they're gone too.

Kubiak leaving would be pretty disastrous because we need continuity for once. Flacco would have a 4th OC in 4 years.

If the worst happens though we need to look at Kyle Shanahan and Marc Trestman. Same system.

Hopefully we hear today that Kubiak has declined the request for an interview.

I don't know why anyone would want to go coach the Broncos to be honest.  All of their fans seem to think that they'd be doing a favor to anyone they make HC, but that place is a ticking time bomb.  Almost all of their star players contracts are either ending after this year or next year and they don't have any backup that could in any way, shape or form replace Peyton.

As soon as Peyton leaves, their star WRs will leave as well and the Broncos are going to be back to praying for Tebow time in order to win games.

Whoever takes that position is gone within 4 years.  Then Kubiak can go in and help out his old pal.

Per the Denver Post.....

Hiring Kubiak would be the wrong choice....

"Gary Kubiak and Rick Dennison — two old Broncos who will forever bleed orange as loyal friends to the legendary No. 7 — are the obvious choices to be the next coach, if Elway wants a wing man to play Cougar to his Maverick.

Yes, we all know Elway is the top gun in Broncos Country. But wouldn't hiring either Kubiak or Dennison from Baltimore as Elway's new deputy be replicating everything good and bad about the past four years with John Fox, the avuncular coach who often seemed to be taking orders rather than giving orders?"

Elway is in a lot of ways like Jerry Jones...  HE runs that team!!!!

allowed to deny any request to interview for a lateral move I believe but not for an upward move. Either way I don't think I've ever seen a team tell someone they can't interview. Not good PR at all nor good for the future of trying to get people to come there.

Yeah the Broncos job will be a dead end job with them having to develop a new Qb .He may be buddies with Elway but

it would not be a wise move with Manning's career ending and a dead zone in the QB position.

If Kubiak leaves it hurts Joe Flacco more then anyone. Flacco played amazing under this offense.

.. and I believe his game will continue to grow as they solidify that relationship. That's why we all know how critical it is for him to stay and to let us get some offensive continuity and consistency for a change.

Up until this morning, it had only been stated that DEN will request the interview. According to the latest news posted here, they have made the request.

OK - time for Kubiak to reiterate what he said on Monday and decline. If he accepts the request and goes for the interview, we'll know that what he said Monday was not accurate - that it isn't about staying here and building something special - it was the fact that he was not enamored by any of the available jobs.

If he interviews, I think it is very likely he'll be hired. Fit or not, Elway will view this as a coup and will serve the dual purpose of filling their job AND weakening an AFC contender. If he interviews and is not hired and remains our OC, there will be a different tone and we'll all know for a fact that he still wants to be an HC and that he's on borrowed time.

So - IMO while we all want him to stay, it will be infinitely better for him to stay after declining the interview, rather than interviewing and not getting the job.

If Kubiak gets on that plane, he's as good as gone.

I don't know about that, there were a lot of reports that "he plans on staying but he'll here them out."  Was made on twitter before.

the longer we go without hearing any updates leads me more and more to thinking he is going to entertain the idea and consider a visit. Realistically, I wouldn't blame him considering their past, but definitely not the most ideal coaching environment...to much clean up.

I'm not totally sure about that.  IIFC, when Dennison was Kubiak's OC in Houston, Kubiak still called all of his own plays.  So, if Dennison ever has any hope of being a HC, he might look at sticking around here and becoming a full, play-calling OC as a better opportunity for future advancement.

If he interviews, he's gone, whether he gets the job or not. It's not gonna look good for him.

But I seriously think there's no way he will interview.

He can hear them out on the phone. Going there is another thing.

That's been my feeling as well.  Going for the interview as the presumptive favorite and then declining sort of is a slap in the face of his good buddy, Elway, and causes a lot of questions to be asked of Elway and just how good that job opportunity is.

I can't think they'd let that happen, so if he goes, I think there's (more than) a pretty good chance he takes it.

I'd really begin to dislike Kubiak if he ended up accepting the job.  I know the Broncos job (albeit much less desirable than before) doesn't become available too often, but man, I hate when someone goes against their word.  I totally get the reason why he would, but that doesn't mean I'd like it.

I think it would instantly propel them above the Steelers and Patriots as my most hated team. The audacity of Elway to request an overview of Kubiak after he outright said he wanted to stick around, to Kubiak himself going back on his word, to what Elway did to us ago, even to Peyton Manning and the tensions brewed between these two teams during the Super Bowl run and our season opener in 2013.

I would despise that organization
