This is a business man!  It happens!  You can't hold him to making that statement.  It's the NFL....things change all of the time.  And, when opportunities present themselves; based upon what is the right move for you and your family...you take them!  Kubiak is no different!

It is a business.  One that I pay into yearly.  So I have every right to hold him to a statement he made as a member of the Baltimore Ravens staff.   Just as I did Marvin Lewis.

Kubiak is free to do what he chooses.  I am free to give or take respect from him based upon what he choses.

Lol!  I want Kubiak to stay as well but I understand that this is a business and at the end of the day, all of these cats; from the players to the coaches will do what "they feel" is the best thing for them and their families even if that means walking away from Baltimore.  Can't blame them cause I do the same thing for my family!  So, let's hope he stays and not be surprised if he leaves.

I agree with all of this, though honestly nothing would surprise me with what he does from here.

That's my mindset Inqui.  Of course, I want Kubiak to stay!  I even just saw on the NFL Network that Ian Rapport reports that the Broncos met with Gase about the HC position.  No mention of speaking with Kubiak.  Cool!  However, if Kubiak was to choose to leave if contact by the Broncos...then so be it!

thank you

Just because the fans are talking about it on their forum, doesn't make it so... Sheesh...  We should all realize that by now ourselves.  This is foolish speculation at best at this point... and I personally find it very irritating that folks are running it based on past relationships, and not by what the people are ACTUALLY SAYING....

When the family runs crazy, you can always count on mom to straighten out the mess!

LMAO.....  Very Nice....  It's ridiculous!  Nobody has been able to produce any viable or reliable source that says this is going down...  The closest I have seen is that "The Denver Bronco's have requested permission to interview" him, along with 5 or 6 other people.  The answer, according to Harbaugh as of YESTERDAY, is "the status has not changed on Kubiak"...  And his comment was that "the Ravens are building something great, and he wants to be part of it".... AND...  He said "he's had his chance at that"...and Nothing beyond that would give any of us any reason to speculate any differently at this point.

There's one guy talking about getting Kubiak in and Rex as their DC with a view to turn him into their own version of Dick LeBeau. And I thought some people here were deluded.

Two pages ahead of ya. :D

Kubiak and Rex....

Ummmmm...  Rex is the Bills new Head Coach..... again... not viable or reliable...

And question for you...  How many times have we all talked about the hiring/firing of a coach or coordinator....  and we do it all the time, but it doesn't mean it's happening...

I think you may have misread the post I just quoted. I was just making the same point earlier.

The Denver Broncos HC job is not very desirable, imo. Manning is unsure about his future, so either you start your tenure without a franchise QB, or you have Superbowl or bust expectations yet again.

Looking long-term at that situation I don't see great promise. Assuming Manning plays and it's his last year, they'll be good enough where your drafting nearer to the end of the 1st round. Finding a young, franchise QB will be tough for them.

If you're Kubiak and your comparing being our OC or their HC, staying in Baltimore is clearly the better option for at least the 2015 season. We're not Superbowl or bust with large media scrutiny like Denver, however we have as good a shot as any at winning a SB.

Agreed, whoever takes that job won't be around long. They would be coming into a situation with HUGE expectations and anything less than a ring will get you fired. It would be smart for Kubiac to wait maybe 2-3 years and whoever is the coach will be fired.

The man said he was staying.  I tend to believe him rather than any speculative talking heads and others paid to get clicks.

All I have seen is this:

Btw, as of an hour ago, Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin was the only coach the Broncos put in a request for thus far.

This would have been almost at the end of the workday today, 1/14.  This is all I have heard from a credible source.

However, someone did evidently try to hack Kubiak's wikipedia page:

For those asking, yes, Gary Kubiak's Wikipedia page has evidently been hacked. No, it's not true.

That didn't take long. Wikipedia entry on Gary Kubiak has been fixed to reflect his job title as Ravens offensive coordinator

I was responding to another post that referenced the broncos boards and their fans/members talking about getting Kubiak.

Two big reasons I can't see Kubes leaving and the first is the stressful environment under Elway (this Denver organization is in serious disarray Kubes will have plenty of chances in the future to get a hc position in Denver).

Look what we did when everyone tried to snatch DeCosta who is now one of the highest paid executives in the nfl. We offer a much better lifestyle and behind the scenes equal or better pay... Besides for an unproven someone that was desperate to make a name who in their right mind would leave the Castle?

Is there any documented history that Kubiak and Elway are friends? I know Kubiak was his backup, but in that sense couldn't there also be a resentment that Kubiak never got his real shot bc of Elway?

I don't know the history so I'm in no position to comment really, just supposing that the relationship could potentially be the opposite of what we all assume on face value.

Especially considering elways personality. Doesn't seem like a natural mesh to be the best of friends. I could see kubiak extending professional courtesy over the years and Elway assuming he has more pull on him than he really does bc of his ego.

And even if they are the best of friends, that only strengthens my belief that Kubiak is staying put. Don't you think before cleaning house with a team one year removed from a Super Bowl he would have called his good buddy and gotten a verbal commitment or at least some strong interest?

Kubiak will be in baltimore.

Let them have Teryl Austin.  I'm going to be ticked if Kubiak leaves.   I understand he might still want to be a head coach, but I would liken this situation to Marvin Lewis when he said he was absolutely staying with the Ravens then bolted for the Redskins DC job.   And that was a lateral move.

Why did he move laterally to the redskins. Was he not under contract?

As much as I dislike Florio, he brings up some good points (which I will quote below) in his article:

First, Kubiak’s offense requires periodic quarterback mobility, for example when one of the various rollout pass plays are called.  Obviously, that wouldn’t necessarily work with the largely immobile Peyton Manning.

Second, in Houston Kubiak coached the one team that Manning was interested in joining three years ago, but that wasn’t interested in Manning.  And Peyton has a long memory; he wanted to play for the Texans, the Texans weren’t interested, and Kubiak’s fingerprints reside somewhere on that decision.

Yes, the Texans and Kubiak opted to stick with Matt Schaub over Peyton Manning.  Matt Schaub.  Matt.  Schaub.

Peyton would have to get past that one before working with Kubiak.

And Peyton will have input in the hire.  Elway already has said so.  For any other quarterback in any other circumstance, that would prompt plenty of criticism.  The mere fact that Manning has that kind of power makes the job even more challenging that it otherwise would be — especially if Peyton enters 2015 with the mindset that this will be his last shot at trying to win that elusive second Super Bowl.

That reeks of Elway being an egocentric idiot. Kubiak already said he's staying, why would you request... urgh.

Please don't go Kubes....

If Kubiak leaves it hurts Joe Flacco more then anyone. Flacco played amazing under this offense.

I do think it would hurt Kubiak's reputation IMO. At least amongst fans. You don't say one thing and then do the other several days later.
