The Broncos have requested to interview Gary  Kubiak and if he does go  then we better have Kyle Shanahan on speed dial

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/13/report-broncos-to-request-interview-with-gary-kubiak/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs

Not a fan of profootballtalk....  that article was written at 7: am this morning....  And according to Harbaugh this afternoon, no one from the organization has contacted Kubiak...  AND, the article says that they "will request"...  not that they have requested.  So, we'll see....  I'm not thinking Kubiak goes there.. just my prediction.

Dear Mr. Kubiak,

Thank you so much for bringing so much hope and joy to Ravens fans. I have enjoyed watching your work here and think you did an amazing job from my viewpoint as a fan. Thank you for saying that you will stay and be the OC next year and work with John to build something really great here. Having said that I would totally understand if you decided to leave for a HC position and would not begrudge you or speak negatively about you, not one bit. I would be disappointed though that you were not here. The news of you deciding to stay really (as well as Steve Smith Sr. speaking that he would not retire and wanted to come back) was the luminos hope that quited some of the disappointment from the loss at NE. You started building something very special this year and I just wonder just how amazing it will be with another year here with you. I hope that your decision does not change, but wherever you land, I wish you and your family the very best.

Sincerely,

Matt

I am hoping that Gary reconfirms his statement from yesterday (soon ...). I am optimistic that he will, given the statement he made.

If he were truly interested in being an HC, i just think he would have declined to interview for the specific jobs he was being offered and would not have made a statement that he intends to stay here.

I would agree that Kyle Shanahan is the next best thing.  You have to watch Kyle when he was coaching Rex Grossman in 2011 and the skins bad receivers were wide open.  He does get a little cutsey at times and get away from the run, but he's a very good coordinator.  Look how good Hoyer was playing earlier in the season before Josh Gordon was active.  That was all Kyle.

I think I'd rather have Marc Trestman than Kyle Shannahan. Trestman just sounds like a better option, I think Joe could have a say in the matter.

I think Denver would rather have a defensive Coordinator. Team got the offense down especially with Peyton being there. Their defense, while talented, still didn't really reach the potential that it could.

Yet Del Rio is being considered for other jobs ... including the now vacant job in Denver.

Most of his Lbers got hurt, that killed them. Ware faded bigtime down the stretch. Del Río is a good coach, Problem was the Lbers Went down and had no one to cover TEs. Colts offense was a bad matchup.

Kubiak isnt going anywhere. He had a stroke, has kids and didnt like the media and public exposure and committments as a HC. Houston was his dream job, he is from their.  Way to much pressure in Denver. Denver i Bet keeps Gase or Del Río.

http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/17465/broncos-will-seek-permission-to-interview-gary-kubiak

According to ESPN: "One team source indicated Monday evening that Kubiak's stance wasn't altered by the Broncos and coach John Fox mutually parting ways."

We were so close to making the AFCCG, our defense doesn't need that much work (especially once we get Jimmy back) and Joe is in his prime and is great during the playoffs (the anti-Peyton so to speak). Why do that and commit to a program, that will struggle once Manning leaves, which can't be that far off considering how he's been playing lately. Stay Gary, please.

That reminds me of that "Please Stay LeBron" video a bunch of Cleveland celebrities made to the tune of "We are the World". Maybe we should do something similar.

"Whoever takes over for Fox, who went 46-18 at the helm and led the Broncos to a Super Bowl appearance, ought to be prepared for championship expectations given the team's recent success." -- Bleacher Report

I agree with that statement and, given the current state of that team - looming cap issues, D Thomas as FA and Manning on his last leg ... that's a recipe for a 1 to 2 year stint followed by another firing.

To me, that's a no-win job waiting for someone.

With the breaking news of Fox departing Denver, the issue creates the intriging question of Kubiak going to the Broncos.  He was the back up for Elway (another QB/MGMT person I dislike) and served in other capacities for a long time in that organization.  If he does leave, it certainly would firestorm contraversy in this place. I hope he enjoys the role he acquired and stays loyal to the excellent Ravens organization and players he has guided.

Never Speculate  Money talks and coaches walk.  I hope he stays too.   However, when the persons that take the Denver and whatever  head coach positions in the NFl are filled and with  Kubiak still here: that is the only way I could feel comfortable about his Ravens carreer.

Kubiak should wait 2-3 years and then take the Denver job when it opens up again, cause that team looks like it could have train wreck potential once Manning is officially done/hangs them up. They have a lot of free agents they are going to have to figure out, and if Manning does not come back this year, than they are in for some real growing pains. If he keeps playing, he can't have much more than a few years at best left in him.

Now that Jim Schwartz is out of bills, I would love to have him take a spags job if he can't find a job anywhere.

He is a great defensive mind and he'd fit right in @baltimore.

Per John Eisenberg... Just a few words plucked from Offensive Coordinator Gary Kubiak’s statement about his decision to stay in Baltimore rather than pursue head coaching opportunities – a decision so huge, by the way, that I’m not sure the Ravens can top it as an offseason development that should positively impact them in 2015. (We’ll see what happens with the Denver speculation, but I’m betting he stands by his word.)

Kubiak said the Ravens “are building something great” that he wants to be a part of. Look closely. He’s saying, in essence, that it’s an ongoing process. That’s how I read it, at least. The Ravens are moving toward something, Kubiak said, which means they aren’t there yet and this year really was all about moving farther down the road.

I'm with Mr. Eisenberg....  if you listened closely... I'm thinking he's not going anywhere....

I thought about that but I would be surprised if he's not a defensive coordinator for another team. I definitely can see The Giants wanting him over Spags.

Don't see any chance he drops below DC.

So, they now want everybody out, including Peyton, but Elway. Good for us!

http://forums.denverbroncos.com/showthread.php?235136-The-Denver-Broncos-Coaching-search-thread/page52

As we saw when he recruited Elway... John's strength, so far, as an executive... like a successful HC in college... is he gets his man. Let the free agent whisperer start talking to Gary... I'm sure he'll know how to coax him... If he truly wants him 100%. Now, the health factor may be key here... but we shall see.

There's one guy talking about getting Kubiak in and Rex as their DC with a view to turn him into their own version of Dick LeBeau. And I thought some people here were deluded.

I'm pretty sure Gary stays, but...if he does leave.... (which he won't)

I've personally never had a reason to hate Denver.  But they would easily become my 3rd most hated team in the league if they took Kubs from us.

Never hated Denver until 1. Their fans came in here for our divisional game with them and then 2. Elway took them over. Can't stand the arrogant horseface.

Kubiak has given me no reason to doubt he's a man of his word. He said he's staying, I don't believe the Denver situation is news to him given his relationship with Elway, so I believe it changes nothing.

Exactly, since Fox was fired that's all I've read. Now here's the problem, Kubiak said he would stay, but since the rumors of him going to Denver have started, he has been silent. He hasn't come out and said that he isn't going to interview with Denver. If only Kubiak would call Schefter or some insider and re-confirm that he's staying in Baltimore and isn't going to interview for Denver, I would feel better about it.

This is where I am. If he definitely had no plans of leaving, I'd think he'd say so again.
