Vent thread: Dolphins(first half) Talk about the Game (second half)

What confuses me is just how dominant he looks and plays, despite his limited production in college. Looks to be a real good player yet he didn't really do much in college, statistically speaking

In college, he was more physical specimen than football player.  He seemed to be developing a lot more as a football player, but he still has a lot of growth to go.

When I went to camp over the summer, Urban really stood out.  For such a big guy, we used him in a ton of different roles.  He was all over the line in 3-4 and 4-3 sets and they even used him as a standup 3-4 OLB at times as well.  He was flat out dominate the day I saw him.  He's my prospect/young player crush.

I think Urban will be our replacement for McPhee. That's what I think.

Perfect day:

Ravens win.

Dolphins lose.

Bills lose.

Chiefs lose.

Chargers lose.

Browns lose.

Bengals lose.

Only other WC/Division contender to win were the Steelers, and personally I was rooting for them against the Bengals anyway. Win out and the division will probably be ours given the schedule of each team.

Agreed. Unfortunately, I was unable to watch today, but managed to listen to most of the game.

Have to hand it to them...they have fought through MUCH adversity both on and off the field to give themselves a REAL SERIOUS SHOT at the postseason, which after we lost back to back to Cincy and Pitt, injuries, and drama I never thought they would get.

Seriously, nice work to those guys bustin' tail on the field and those who coach and support them.

Nice win today.

Ugh that San Diego game stings more...could be sitting in great position today if not coughing up that lead late.

That was on our secondary, we should have won against the Chargers. We also could have easily beaten Indy too, another team that I feel if we played them in the Wild Card Round, we could beat them like we did in 2012. The Bengals have proven they get by on luck, and luck only. We beat Denver and New England in the same post season, I can't see why we wouldn't be a threat to make the Super Bowl if we made the playoffs.

The only venting I have is that our coaches need to game plan for the full 60 minutes, not just take off an entire half and play good the next half.

Playoff Joe has come to play and right now I feel we could do damage in the playoffs. Plus we would end up getting Ngata back for the playoffs which would only strengthen our front seven more. This isn't over by a long shot.

the 3rd down conversion by steve smith on the sideline late in the game was the most clutch play of the game without a doubt.

I think the 4th and 1 from the Ravens 35 was the clutch play of the game and it led to the go ahead touchdown.

Now that we beat dolphins and the bunguls lost to the squealers our lost last week to the chargers hurt more now! Also KC lost too.... Dam it!

I'm glad that the Ravens won and they still have a pulse for a playoff, but I'm still upset about the Chargers loss.

How the Chargers were blown out and shutout by the Dolphins is a head scratcher? 1 down and 3 to go.

I'm gonna have to agree w/ FlackAttack.  That 3rd down pass to SSS was a much more clutch play than a QB sneak for one yard.  Don't get me wrong, the 4th and 1 call on your own 35 was a gutsy call by Harbs, but the execution of the pass/catch on 3rd down defines clutch.

Not a vent, but an observation and kudos to Kubes for making the adjustment.

The jumbo bunch package on the goal line just doesn't work for us.  Taliaferro was stuffed trying to score in this formation.

Forsett's one yard TD run was when they spread out the receivers and removed defenders away from the line

of scrimmage.  He walked into the endzone untouched.

observations: torrey might be in trouble come contract time. Aiken & Brown playing like they belong and more consistent.

Ngata might be done as well - or have to take a very very cap friendly restructure or extension. Pass rush is better without him and the minimal hit to the run game seems to work better for us.

Hats off to Pees for making 2nd half adjustments, playing tighter coverage and keeping aggressive until the end. Now do that every week dagnabbit!

Yeah i noticed that too it seems like with about 5 mins to go in the first half the CB's moved toward the LOS a little tighter and it was a difference maker

Stil not hearing the praise of Dean Pees the way I should be. The fans owe him that...

I'm not trying to be rude, a lot of fans gave him his props. You're not hearing the praise that you should be? Huh, are the praises for you or him? Like I said I'm not trying to be rude, but it seems a little ridiculous you demanding fans to praise him. He did what he's paid to do and adjust to the other team, just like Kubes had to adjust in the second half.

I agree, it is ridiculous.

What also is ridiculous is that I even have to make a post to remind fans of who they should be praising.  Dean Pees gets hammered again, and again, and again, and again on these boards for literally every possible screw up, penalty, blown coverage, etc. made by the defense.

And yet, on a day where HIS defense (and yes, it is his defense) holds the opponent to 13 points and about 250 total yards on the road (3 points in the last three quarters), I barely see his name even remotely mentioned on any of the threads related to the game.

I, as a Ravens fan, sort of find that embarrassing to be honest. We all know its incredibly hypocritical, but that I've accepted, because that's just how things tend to go on here.

I'm used to it though... Juan Castillo gets no praise either, despite his unit probably being the best unit on this entire team.

I agree to an extent with what you say. But he did what a lot of fans have been clamoring him to do. Correct me if I'm wrong was it you who been saying it's mostly to blame on the personnel and not Pees?

So now the players are getting the credit and you want Pees to get the praise (which is deserved). My issue with pees is that his schemes are very dependant on the talent of the Cbs, and our Cbs really suck, again in the Fins game the Cbs were playing so far back that the dinking and dunking of tannenhill was easily getting them up the field. It wasn't until he kept the pressure and rattled tannenhill, that our D was successful . And allllll fan base have fans that are hypocrites, I hope you don't expect Ravens fans to be on higher level or something.

Smitty needs to stop the drops. He did redeem himself yesterday, but the drop in the EZ was frustrating.

And Flacco needs to stop throwing the ball right onto the opponents hand.  That kind of sloppy play isnt going to fly on legitimate defense.  At least 4 throws were ON miami's hand.  All dropped by miami's D.

Guy is a decent player. He's not great but he's not bad at all. I like him. He's a hard worker. I'm glad we got him from SD. Lol

Of course its mostly on the personnel... it always has been since the history of mankind. Fans blamed Dean Pees for Dumervil lining up offsides three times in one game... you can't even make this crap up.

Its just disturbing to me that so many fans pretend to be so cavalier and demanding of the employment status of coaches, and yet when those very same coaches do a great job, not a single word from those people. Juan Castillo is literally having a GREAT season as the offensive line coach with this team. He was literally burned at the stake in this town for months and months and months. I haven't heard an apology from anybody, no accountability, nothing.

It was one bad throw, the other ones were bounced of WRS hands.

The loss to the Chargers still stings but I thought we would lose to the Dolphins so I guess we're even. Just win out and we're in with a good chance at still winning the division.

We have a knack for making Journeyman into something.

Corey Graham, James Idhedigbo, Josh Wilson...

maybe Guy could be that guy.  Who knows

I recall three balls where the Dolphins had a chance to intercept the ball. One of them they did intercept, though that interception was as much on Flacco as it was on Sr. I was smh when I saw the CB just throw Sr out of the way get the ball. Smith had no awareness on that one.

Nope. I could tell you when each of those were..

Sure. He only completed over 75% of his throws, so why don't you fill us in on how inaccurate he was?
