Vent thread: Dolphins(first half) Talk about the Game (second half)

What an impressive bounce back win. Flacco had a bad pick, but was fantastic the rest of the game.

Didn't miss Haloti at all.

Aiken stepped up huge with Torrey banged up.

How about Harbaugh going for it on 4th down again? That was huge. He gets raked over the coals when his aggressiveness doesnt work, but it was the right call. Props to Harbs.

the only reason that worked, is because miami tried to call our bluff, they thought we were just trying to draw them offsides, joe knew this and snapped it right away, i thought it was brilliant on joes part to not call any fake hikes and just get under center and bring it, but overall i didnt like the call, you only go for it in that field position on a need basis.

Call me crazy, but I didn't see too much different with the defensive play calls today than I did against other teams. The biggest difference is that the guys executed their assignments. I think Pees let the players play more than before, but there wasn't much different with his defense. The secondary still had mixed coverage with off man, zone and press. I think a big part of it was we contained Ryan and his OL was weak. Not taking anything away from the defense. That's just what I saw.

I liked what I saw individually from Supernaw, Aiken, Brown, and Taliaferro. I think Smith Sr did a decent job redeeming himself but still had some really dumb gaffes. JoeyFlex, I believe, mentioned how Sr allowed himself to get blocked out on the INT. It's true. The throw was on Joe but I definitely think Sr contributed to that one.

I really like how Joe played today. I think he has a very good game. In fact, he's played great since the bye. Kubiak made great adjustments.

Yeah, I really liked the call and I liked the execution. I'm glad Harbaugh has matured as a coach to make those moves.

Congrats on your win Raven fans! See you in February?

Maybe you guys will make it that far lol. Unfortunately our secondary has been obliterated by injuries, I'd be happy just making the playoffs. I think your Packers are looking good in the NFC though, I expect a Packers-Seahawks NFCC game.

Hope your right. Not sure we could beat Seattle though.

Flacco won Baltimore the game, including the D-Line, arguably the best Front-7 at full health

Full health would include urban and KLM which I would say yea easily best.. Bias to the side

Missed 1st qtr. From what i saw, we played a virtually perfect game. The only bad play was the silly interception following the awful drop by Smith.

You say this cause you missed the frat quarter. It was a terrible start. The team didn't look prepared initially.

Flacco was 25/33 (75.8%) to 9 different receivers.

This was on the road against the #2 pass defense.

Thought they were 24th against pass and 2nd against run? Or am I backwards?

Not enough praise on here for the season doom is having...

Nice little run to the end the season and we talking a career year league wide not just franchise wise

Agreed.  Not that I expect him to reach it in the next 3 games, but he's only 6.5 sacks away from matching Strahan's record.  It's not inconceivable to think he could tally up 4 more and make it to 20.

Dumervil has played terrific, and I'm not taking anything away from him, but I think he's benefiting from Suggs in a big way. He's obviously very talented, so I'm not saying he's only getting his numbers because of Suggs but Suggs is generating pressure and moving the pocket towards Dumervil. Dumervil capitalizes and finishes. It's a great tandem.

I think Dumervil would be in contention for DPOY if JJ Watt didn't exist. He's dominating players. I do think he could reach that number. The Jaguars have a weak OL, so it's entirely possible he gets done nice numbers in that game. Their right side is pretty weak in pass protection. The Texans weak link is the right side of their OL. The Browns have a good OL, so we'll have to see what happens there.

Reverse - they are 2nd in opponent passing YPG and 6th in opponent quarterback rating (the REAL quarterback rating, not ESPNs version).  They are tied for 18th in opponent YPC rushing, 22nd in rushing YPG given up.

i think he gets 4 sacks over the next 2 weeks. definitely plausible when you look at the teams were facing, especially with fitzpatrick at qb, he is a gunslinger, he likes to hold onto that ball and look for the big plays.

if that happens, then wouldnt he just need 2 against cleveland for the record?

Yeah but that Cleveland OL is no joke. I wouldn't be surprised if we get no sacks that game. I think he'll need to make his money against Bortles and Fitz.

On the other side of that, I think his sack numbers are incredibly impressive considering we don't exactly have the luxury of coverage sacks lol

not sure, but I'm glad he remembered to take his focus factor this week.   :P

Oh yeah, no doubt about that. I think if you give Suggs and Dumervil a secondary they'll be putting up crazy numbers.

Does anyone have any data telling us who's on defense when Suggs and Dumervil get their sacks? I'm really interested in that data. I wonder if McPhee helps it as well.

There is no doubt in my mind that Kubiak has this team playing the best offense they've played since the post-season Super Bowl run. Flacco (minus the pick today) has been playing near perfect ball. I feel like the offense is still working to get more comfortable with the game plan and still have room for continued improvement.

Dumervil is the best pass rusher in the NFL right now. Today was an absolute feast for the eyes.

Besides the facepalm pick by Joe and the disasterous 1st quarter, I give props to Joe. He and the lineman put on their big pants on and fought those Miami D like a real pro. Just 1hit all game vs tenacious D rush. This GRP of lineman is getting it done.

No, it worked because the QB sneak is an extremely effective short yardage play.

We do have the Jags next week. There should be opportunities. He's going to need to capitalize against theme and the Houston Watts, because the Browns o line is stingy.

Also think about his total if he wasnt constantly being held.
