Maybe Harbaugh is in a better position to judge than we, fans are ;)

Sometimes, but he also thought Chykie Brown was adequate CB depth and that Gino Gradkowski was an acceptable starter.

They are what he had at the time...  You think he'd say otherwise?

Not after they'd been named to their positions, of course not. But the chance was there to look elsewhere in the offseason and nothing was done.

Fans have known for years that Gino, Chykie, and Jah Reid were bums.

And...  Yes, of course he does know more than we do...you think he'd say otherwise about his players???  It would be like your boss telling your customers that you are inadequate...  not happening.

Wow...  so you would go into your own locker room and tell your own players they are bums????

Right now, I am hanging my hat on the fact that they only luckily beat the Jets by 1 instead of the fact that they beat the Chargers 37-0. I have to take comfort in something right?

That isn't only comfort - the Jets game is their most recent, so that should be more indicative of what we can expect than an earlier game.

... that said, everything can change in a week in the NFL...

Definitely not, my point is that these issues should've been addressed in the offseason. EVERYONE was questioning going into the season with only 4 CBs. Coaches are smarter than most but they're not always right.

Does anyone know if we win today what scenarios need to take place today for us to get a wildcard spot or is it impossible to get in today even if we win.

Ummmm..  Offseason, they had Jimmy, Lardarius, Chykie, Asa, and a couple draftees back there...  no idea that their CB corps was going to go down....  Even the analysts were talking about that this morning.  They addressed safety and then that fell as well...

Pretty sure every other team would have to lose for us to get in because of conference record. SD is locked in over us regardless.

I say Chargers lose....  We want the Bengal to lose....  And we need the Brown's to lose also...

We had some ST guys, never were they looked at as serious CBs. Those four guys were our CB corps for the season, and that was knowing that both Jimmy and Webb have had injury issues.

I wouldn't say we're in the driver's seat, but a win today makes it much easier for us.  We have an easy rest of the schedule while other teams are facing some tough competition.  It's impossible to say 4 games out what it would mean, but this is basically a must win type of game.

harbs needs to quit playing down injuries.

Actually no.

I would much rather our opponent game plan for the maximum variables as opposed to minimum variables.

Actually we'd need the Broncos, Cardinals and Bengals to win and we're #6.

That's basically every other team. Only team we have a tiebreaker over is Cleveland.

In the locker room I hope a coach would tell his players they are bums if that's what they are. Otherwise, the players would think they are good and don't need to improve. One should never feel they reached the top if the mountain. One can always do better!

Okay, guys and gals, its time to think positive thoughts!!!  Enough with the negative stuff...its bad karma...we don't need that today, lol.  Our guys know what it on the line today...I think they will get it done!  Time to purpleup!!!

Yeah pretty close to it and long term, provided the rest of the season goes our way - it is probably to our advantage if the Bengals lose.

Torrey Smith had a noticeable limp and was talking to a team doctor when coming off the field following pre-game warmups.

All we know is what reporters at the stadium in Miami have seen. Smith, who was listed as "probable" after practicing Friday, was stiff and limping. There's no way to know if he'll shake it off and be fine for the game or if he had a setback.

We need the Bengals to lose ... I'm still holding hopes of getting the AFCN title! Win out and it's gonna happen, IMO.
