Haloti Ngata suspended 4 games for PED's

Possible. I actually think we will be "OK" against the run in this game even without Ngata. You actually do miss him a bit in the pass rush.

Where I think you might see major problems is playing a team like Houston, with a good offensive line and a good running game.

I agree. This just made that game a whole lot more interesting for sure.

I might be alone here but while I think it's a big loss I don't think it'll be a significant one. It hurts our ability to rush four or three for sure. We do have McPhee and Upshaw who have both been used as interior pass rushers on a DL. We just drafted Jernigan who has those pass rush moves. That Jernigan pick is looking better and better every week. We have Brandon Williams, who I don't think has the stats because I recall him coming off the field on third down when we're primarily rushing. I think Williams has what it takes to rush the passer.

This could really help us evaluate how important Ngata is to this defense. It'll be interesting to see regardless, good or bad.

I tend to agree with most of what you are saying here. We're pretty well prepared to absorb the hit.

This is actually funny in a crappy sort of way. Our best pass defender just got suspended...let that sink in.

Yeah the biggest difference between Jackson and Ngata is probably that Ngata alluded to the fact that his isn't medical use but recreational. Jackson seems to push the notion that he has ADHD, though I have no idea how true that is. Shoot, Ngata could've obtained his dose from Jackson. That's an entirely different subject though.

He pulled a Chris Davis. At the worse time.

WHY?

Davis did it at the worst possible time as well.

You know this isn't our season, everything keeps going wrong for us.

Adderall needs to get revisited by Major league sports...or you know, these guys need to be more open about their issues and get prescriptions verified with the NFL.

I have several thoughts on this, that occurred to me essentially in this order.

1) Crap, season over.

2) How can Ngata be stupid enough to take Adderall? He probably didn't take Adderall. Crap.

3) Hey, at least the Ravens get 2 million in salary cap relief.

4) Maybe this will actually induce teams to run on us instead of just passing every down. Could this actually work in our favor?

5) Timmy Jernigan has been really good this year. He might be just as good if not better than Ngata with more playing time.

It's an amphetamine. It's a felony to possess illegally, I believe.

As for effects, it's a stimulant. It greatly increases your focus and ability to just process informationGood for the Ravens

Only if you have some form of ADD or ADHD.

My daughter has ADD, She takes Aderoll. I take a pill for my stomach that looks very similar. One day I took her Aderoll by mistake.

Yeah that is one mistake I dont ever want to make again. That stuff made a mess of me.

I suppose a drug can have various affects depending on the person and dosage, but the focus is usually universal and a huge reason college students are willing to pay for it

I used Adderall once, and it definitely improves focus. I find it hard to believe that Ngata would risk a suspension for it though. Incredibly foolish if he did. This isn't a case like Asa Jackson or Chris Davis where they actually have ADD or ADHD.

Why is the season automatically over? Our D Line is the deepest rotation on our team. I would understand If Joe went down, but pretty much all we have to do is win 4 VERY winnable games to have a shot at the division. And we've done it before with big time players being out, so I'm not losing faith.

It works without question.  I'll admit guilt lol

There's no doubt this is a blow but we have Jernigan to step right in. The Ravens will have a month to see how our new look d-line plays without Ngata to decide if he's worth $16 million next year.

I think that decision's been made and Ngata made it easy. Canty is up there in age, Cody - we all know, KLM question mark health wise. I look forward to more DL draft picks next year.

As someone who has family that works in therapy/psychiatry and pharmaceuticals, if you want to have ADHD or ADD you can pretty much get diagnosed with it.

If bad things keep happening to the Ravens, we fans might as well suit up for the game.......

One of us have to be some where on the depth chart.

FYI.. if you DONT need Adderall..it's basically COCAINE.

Truth right here.  Adderall is not difficult to get whatsoever.  I had a kid in one of my freshman classes that said he was going to go to the doctor and say he has ADD to get it for finals.  He came back the next day with a full prescription for it.  He doesn't have ADD.

I have 14.5 cushion so I think my seat on the depth chart is nice and firm.....

i feel bad for bisciotti. he wants to run a first class operation and this is just another blemish. the reality is that there are very few individuals who can play at this level. its nice to scrutinize based on character but if you haev all charater guys you might go 0-16.

i wouldn't have expected rice or nghata to be individuals who would've made these mistakes. the only thing good about footbal these days is that i watched the rewind squealers/saints game and the squealers suck.

To have a player on your team (Asa Jackson) that has been suspended twice under the PEDS rules (Adderall) makes this absolutely inexcusable. Is it coincidence that he is having a massive resurgence this year?

This pretty much sums up what to do with him next year, cut and save the cap space.

I busted up laughing at this....lol.

Except that our best pass rusher right now is Dumervil.....  Ngata was having a great year too...  Time for Timmy and Terrance and Brandon to pick up the slack.
