Haloti Ngata suspended 4 games for PED's

Ironically, its the exact same amount of cap space that we would have gained by cutting Webb....

This is where conspiracy theorists should start chiming in...

What would the conspiracy be Jacket?

Sucks big time, big big time, but what can you do. Yet another huge loss for the Ravens to have to try and overcome. At least we get to see what life without Ngata would be like if the Ravens were to try and cut him next year. Next man up, we have nothing to lose at this point, just go out there and play ball.

well at least we will see who has the leverage in the offseason when it comes to contract talks lol.

if that front 7 falls apart ngata has the leverage.

if they dont miss a beat its the front office.

FO still has the leverage regardless, since they can just cut him and save a big amount against the cap.

Only leverage is how much Ngata can ask for in an extension.

High charecter guys dont look for shortcuts... and dont use PEDs... so, yup...throw that out the window.

I think PEDs should be legal so we can have the best warriors on the field and push the human body to unseen levels in our existence....NFL just has to get players to sign health waivers.

That actually made me laugh.

I just wish the Ravens had more leverage with Webb to have him to take a pay cut.

yeah he is just an avg player who doesent make an impact any way.

replacing him is a piece of cake.

what was i thinking .......

Good, in theory. It means we could either sign a player (unlikely) or roll that cap space over to the next season.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking but I didn't see anyone say they were happy when talking about the ramifications of this cap-wise. With these revelations, I think I can say that I've moved on from this wretched season of injuries and suspensions. I'm already looking forward to next year when the Gods of Football smile favorably upon us. I'll gladly accept any bump to our cap space #REBUILD

My honest first reaction was "Hey, maybe teams will try to run the ball on us now instead of throwing it for 400+ yards and 6TDs."

Unfortunately they may plan to do both with more confidence.

Possible. I actually think we will be "OK" against the run in this game even without Ngata. You actually do miss him a bit in the pass rush.

Where I think you might see major problems is playing a team like Houston, with a good offensive line and a good running game.

Well, at least we will get a good, long look at Timmy Jernigan.

We will also sort of get to evaluate how truly valuable Ngata is to this team in the next four games.

This is exactly what I thought after initially thinking that Ngata was pretty stupid for doing this at the worst time.

Lol. Baseball is the sport that needs PEDs. Have you ever watched a game that ends 1-0? I would rather get a tooth pulled!!! A pitchers duel... Are you kidding me?!?

No, but this sucks. Ngata was playing great and it will hurt our chances going forward. I don't know that there's another player on the d line that commands a double team. Pass rush will be slowed. We shall see how replaceable he is and we can use that 2M next year.

This right here. So much for "veteran leadership "

Marlon Brown likely out, Torrey Smith likely limited or out, Justin Forsett somewhat limited, Michael Campanaro likely limited, Haloti Ngata out. Interesting weekend ahead!

They can still win!

The last time something like this happened was when the Ray Rice video inside the elevator was released.

That was the week they pummeled the Steelers.  Hopefully, they can rally around each other and do the

same to the Dolphins.

Adderall is what everyone blames it on. I just find it too convenient. In a contract year after multiple down years Ngata is having a resurgent year and now gets suspended for PED's.

I hate that the world has made me so pessimistic but I doubt that's a coincidence.

Haloti Ngata says he took Adderall. New drug policy says league can dispute a player’s false claim. The league hasn’t. This is what he took

Even if its just adderall, I wouldnt have thought haloti would ever use one.

Now we have a major void in the middle. Smh!

There's no doubt this is a blow but we have Jernigan to step right in. The Ravens will have a month to see how our new look d-line plays without Ngata to decide if he's worth $16 million next year.

I might be alone here but while I think it's a big loss I don't think it'll be a significant one. It hurts our ability to rush four or three for sure. We do have McPhee and Upshaw who have both been used as interior pass rushers on a DL. We just drafted Jernigan who has those pass rush moves. That Jernigan pick is looking better and better every week. We have Brandon Williams, who I don't think has the stats because I recall him coming off the field on third down when we're primarily rushing. I think Williams has what it takes to rush the passer.

This could really help us evaluate how important Ngata is to this defense. It'll be interesting to see regardless, good or bad.

Ouch. On the bright side, at least we've prepared for this by drafting a ton of D-line depth in recent drafts. Surely need it now. We might even be thin there at this point after all this.

I'm guessing this means Terrence Cody will get an opportunity to stick around.  I was thinking he was going to be a potential casualty with Asa's return but he may get another shot now.
