Former Raven Dwan Landry Now With The Jets

24 posts in this topic

If you watched the Monday night game, Landry was a killer and played like he was 23 again. The Ravens could sure use him back again and I'm sure the Jets would love to make a trade since their season is over.

Ozzy, call the Jets and try to get Landry back to us from the rest of the season ....

I was at the game in 2008 where he met head on with Jamal who was playing for the brownies. Dude was knocked out cold. He had a spinal injury and it was thought at first he wouldn't be able to play football again.

Was never the same player again.  Not the same mentality, alot more hesitant.  Though I don't blame him, Jamal was a truck.  He made a living doing that exact same thing to linebackers, nevertheless safeties.

1. Lol this is old news,

2. Since you somehow didn't know this, Landry sucked in coverage and rode on the coat tails of Ed Reed and Rex Ryan. There's a reason we let him go.

Yea he sucked alright, LOL.

He's a 100% improvement on anything we have right now in the back field, wake up and stop being a homer.

Elam and the rest are jokes.

LOL. I love these threads.

Everytime an ex-Raven plays well in primetime, fans come on these boards and relive the past and spend their entire day second-guessing the FO.

And ironically, most of the time, said player has been irrelevant for his team for years, yet because of that ONE game he played well in primetime, he's annointed by the fanbase as great again.

Can't speak to how he's played since he left, but Dawan's play was stellar until he got hurt. Was still pretty decent when he returned. Jags gave him a long term contract we were unwilling to match.

Jaguars released S Dawan Landry.

LaRon's brother signed a five-year, $27.5 million deal after the lockout, but was a disappointment in two years with Jacksonville. He graded out negatively in Pro Football Focus' ratings in each of 2011 and 2012, underwhelming against the run while intercepting just three passes. The Jags are so eager to move on they're willing to eat $3.9 million in "dead money," and only cleared $1.45 million in salary cap space. They're remaking former GM Gene Smith's broken roster from the bottom up

For all of you so called experts here, there is such a thing as Waivers after the trade deadline. Get a brain and then we'll talk. Do you really think anyone with a record less than the Ravens would block a waiver pickup? He's better than any players we have now in our secondary and believe me, we're going no where right now as the roster stands. The Ravens have no secondary and Elam is a flop, period.

Matt Elam is the biggest bust Ozzy has ever drafted. He looks like he's still in high school the way he plays. He hasn't a clue what he's even doing back there.

Oh, the irony.  In football, waivers happen when a team releases a player.  The only way we could get him is if the Jets chose to release him, which would give them no compensation whatsoever.  Even if he was exposed to waivers, there are many teams ahead of us.

How does it benefit the Jets to trade us for him? He's playing for dirt cheap and is currently a starter for them.

And yes, I would think any bad team that needs safety help could claim a player who's playing for $1.5M this season.

This is your typical desperation pipe dream, nothing more.

Elam is the biggest bust? Yes, I'd like to introduce you to Kyle Boller.

No, the trade makes perfect sense.

The Jets are bad, and their coach and GM are quite possibly going to get fired after the season unless they somehow rattle off like 4 straight wins. Nothing makes sense more than to trade one of their cheap starters for bad draft picks that another GM and coach will get to use.

Makes perfect sense.

SMH.

He was a very good piece to have next to Ed and even better considering he was like a 5th or 6th round draft pick. neverthless, he is old and I want no part of him.

Travis Taylor, at least Bowler had like three good games.

Lets face it... this entire thread has like an hour before the mods shut it down anyway.

Agreed!  And it should be.  Smh!

Ed in his prime would've made Elam look like Polamalu. The Ravens never cared too much about SS cause of the effect he had on the secondary. One of the reasons it was a revolving door at the position.

You have to cut a player for them to go on waivers. I don't think the Jets are cutting him...
