Short version: Fire Dean Pees, stop settling for field goals as the Primary means for scoring points and use your tight end, fullback and even QB on goal line situations...especially the full back, he fumbled once get over it and use your roster!

Long version: No team in the NFL can score 33 points, commit zero turnovers, get 2 turnovers, average the 40 yard line on opening drives and walk away with a loss.  Dean Pees, What the heck? is wrong with you dude...? Adjust your defense to the offense play calling! Are you that myopic or were you just distracted by the cheerleaders? Either way you are incompetent and unfit to be the defensive coordinator on this team...You Blew It, You are Garbage and you need to Go NOW!  We had a legit chance to make a turn and seize the #2 spot in our Division and you stole that from us, thanks for screwing your team. Retire and take up sudoku you have No business in the NFL.

i don't care about a few petty calls here or there

the defense couldn't stop rivers at all

without a good secondary you can't be a contender.

harb had great leaders on the team if you are honest what has he done since, tell me in what way are we outsanding

We are outstanding at hiring harbaughs friends on the cpaching staff that are dead weight. We hired spags because harbs is his buddy and look how great he's made our secondary

Because, if the Chargers had matched us with a FG to send us to overtime... the majority of the folks here would be screaming "Why didn't we score that FG earlier instead of being overly aggressive".

I was referring to the 3rd down play where Flacco threw the ball away.. we could have still kicked the field goal and it would have left San Diego with a lot less time

Let's think about this for a second. During the last drive (actually most of the game also), we noticed all DB's were playing back, almost prevent, zone. This tells me only one thing. Not that Pees is an idiot. He's actually smart enough to know that his own corners and safeties can't play a lick on the line of scrimmage. They don't have the talent to press and keep up with WR's that can burn past them with speed and good route running.

Which leads me to this....

Pees should've still put those DB's at the line. If they get burned for a TD, there'd still be more than a minute (or two) left in Flacco's hands to come back with a FG at the least.

the raven way,i tell you. I cant count how many times the defense has usually held in that situation. The problem is the ravens and pees cant concede the defense sucks simply because there are more games and doing so could lead to players not trying anymore. Its a combination of being stubborn and being a good coach.

Who cares, why vent. I know a few players...they say the fans care .more than they do...Its really about $$$.  Ravens eliminated themselves today because they are 4-0 vs NFC. No tiebreakers will help them now. Its over.

Flowers was not coming here. The guy wanted to be a number one cornerback not a two or three and he wanted to face his former team as well which is why he signed with The Chargers. The Ravens had high hopes for Chykie Brown and Asa Jackson which is why they didn't press harder to sign a veteran cornerback. Every team has a player at some point they really expect to be solid but turn out such a player never reach their expectation. It's a business and in business you gamble and sometimes you lose out.

They were unknowns, we should have learned after trusting Gino last year that you can't always count on things working out in house. Secondary depth was a concern before the season, we should have at least tried to get someone either in FA or the draft as opposed to waiting until training camp to get someone. It was a deep FA class in terms of CBs and a deep draft class and we did nothing. Injuries are part of the NFL and you need to have at least decent depth if you want to compete, we didn't and injuries came up and we aren't prepared and are suffering the consequences.

This is the worst loss all year. So painful.

If only we had an extra time out. How long would that FG have been?

It would have been close to a 60 yarder...like 59 I think. Not a gimme but for Tucker a definite possibility.

Every single HC in this league hires their buddies... its not a Harbaugh or a Ravens problem.

Absolutely sickening loss today. And given the Ravens' track record against .500 or better teams on the road, it is very hard to feel good about next Sunday's game at Miami.

I only say that because the money can be used to extend Upshaw and keep him here in the long term. Doom is a short term option, Upshaw is a long term option. Plus we can extend him before he has a big breakout year and gets signed by some other team.

Upshaw is a good tackler but not a good pass rusher...

The Chargers should have been flagged for having too many men on the field on the play were Levine's DPI occured, I wasn't aware the refs are allowed to play for them as well.

Defense gave up the game in the 4th Quarter. I am so PISSED to say Im a fan, please stay home remainder of the season, draft a new defensive line or get the current D's heads out of their butts. I will say that was a nice runback for Jones.  You guys got to comfy with the 10 point lead.  Im packing the Raven gear into the closet and will wait for next season.

You mention great leaders but before  Harbaugh came to our team our players were more like thugs back then even when we had Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. Even with all this Ray Rice mess our team has not been a mess at all.  We still in a playoff hunt and if you really think Ray Lewis and Ed Reed leadership was all that great then tell me why wasn't we going to the playoff consistently and why don't we have more than two super rings?

Elam had a terrible rookie season and somehow found a way to get exponentially worse. At this point we should wash our hands and move on.

One a serious note, is Torrey Smith ok, he not being in on that last series was concerning.

Apparently he limped out of the stadium after the game and refused to discuss his injury, so who really knows.

I just don't get the Pees hate..I get not being in love with Pees, but failing to see how the Chargers' receivers flat out owning our secondary could have been stopped by Pees...blame injuries and maybe the FO for not having enough Depth.

Anyone know if this is true? Are we mathematically out now? We deserve to be.

Well, after thinking about this one some here are my thoughts:

1. Pees didn't make adjustments and continued to put Mosley on Gates. We should've seen Hill on him, who was effective against Graham the week prior.

2. We played too far off as well. It's one thing to play off some yards, but to have your CB beyond the first down marker on first down, that brings some concern.

3. Penalties really hurt us. I'm not sure what's going on but both Suggs and Dumervil have been called for these defensive offsides penalties. There's really no excuse for them to do it.

4. Elam and other players who blitz show their hand way too early. Elam is very notorious for it. It led to two conversions by Rivers, who saw it and adjusted.

5. Jones had a really nice day overall. I can excuse two stupid mistakes because it happens with every player. It's a shame they came when we needed him the most.

6. I'm really disappointed that we don't abuse centers enough. Bodine isn't that good for the Bengals and on top of it, we played against SD fifth center this year. It's pretty absurd that we weren't blowing him off the ball. I thought the pass rush was good because we were getting pressure, we just couldn't finish a lot of the time.

The team has promise, but unless Jackson returns and balls out for us, I'm not confident we'll go deep even if we make the playoffs. Not trying to be negative, only being honest. We're not there yet.

The Secondary is also a part of the team last time I checked.  So why not say the team lost the game?  Because being specific matters.  And the secondary SPECIFICALLY lost us the game

Hey, the team loss the game!

You are leaving off the dropped passes on offense, the penalties up front on defense, and red zone failures on offense. The secondary did not specially lose the game but they were the weakest link.

Well, its not like we've made the playoffs since they left, either

The last kick return by Jacoby was so depressing but he had a great day overall. I was just thinking that we could still win with a decent return.

Stop blaming the refs, bad calls went both ways. We lost because we allowed SD's last 3 series result in 3 touchdowns. Give SD credit, they wanted that win badly and earned it the hard way.

Non factor b/c Joe scored that same drive w/ the QB sneak from the 1 yard line.
