Vent thread: Chargers

Crazy to me. We score TD go up 30-20. I flip to Bengal game hoping to see them lose meanwhile we giving up a TD in under 3 minutes. Where is pride.

This time around we might do well getting rid of DC. Called entire game in the hands of Rivers.

Dumervil caught for the same infringement 3 times. Elam twice.

Drops by Smiths, Aiken did not help.

We still win this if not for that awful PI on Levine. This is not the first time refs did us.

None of those drops affected the score.

The drops by the Smith's were negated when Joe scored from the 1 yard line.

Aiken's drop was negated on the roughing the passer penalty called on the Chargers on the same play.

Whelp we literally could go 11-5 and miss the playoffs wow.

I hope we do miss the playoffs to be honest. I know anything can happen, but does anyone think this secondary of ours will be able to do ANYTHING?

Flacco played lights out. Some of y'all are just sad if you put the blame on him. Our receivers played great but also had a ton of crucial drops.

The real losers of today is our secondary. No other way around it.

Can't believe I thought we'd win this game and believed we'd lose against NO...are you kidding me?

No way can we make any noise in the postseason with this kind of inconsistent play.

See you in 2015.

Elam should be inactive next week. Throw Brooks back in the fire, he has promise and just needs starter reps to turn the corner. I was a huge Elam supporter but he's absolute garbage. Doesn't have the speed or Football IQ to play in the NFL

EVERYONE who follows football knew the Chargers had to beat us w/ the pass. And we don't do a d@mn thing to prevent that!!!!

They could barely even run the ball. That is what pisses me off the most, you make a team one dimensional and still get massacred in the secondary. WTH man :(

I hate that our offense didn't score more TD's.  I hate it!  Cause I knew this was going to happen.  There are just some teams that you have to keep scoring TD's on to win...especially when your defense is pure trash like the Ravens!  This loss isn't on the offense by any means imo.  This Ravens defense and secondary is just flat out embarrassing!  There is nothing special or spectacular about them....nothing whatsoever!  7-5 instead of 8-4.  Penalties and all...they earned their present record!

I dont care to hear about the refs. The Ravens did not play with ANY ANY ANY URGENCY!!!!!! Elam should not be on the field except for maybe special teams. The whole offense should have gotten TD's instead of FG's. We should have been ahead by at least 21 points but they settled for FG's. When the Ravens were going to go for it on 4th down next close to the end-zone they did not even know what was going on and had to burn a time out  NO preperation. I like Harbaugh as a coach but dont like when he is sitting on the sideline and watching his facial expressions like what just happened??? NO URGENCY!!!  2 games lost at home that shoulda and coulda been won. Bengals and Chargers. This Ravens team seem to think things are going to be handed to them at least thats how they play at times... Steelers and Browns lost today boy only if the Ravens would have done their part. Now we get to hear about lets get back to work and see what happens next week. Int at the 20 yard line settle for a field goal. Just VERY UPSET right now....

i dont get people blaming dean pees for the loss. Consider the context. Our defense has a front 7 loaded with  high picks. Now we have a secondary, which if I recall was the most deep position on our team in 2011 and 2012 and even last year, turn to a dumpster fire. levine and gorrer are at best average corners, elam has no business playing corner, brooks is in the doghouse, and webb has lost his elite athletic ability. The only plus player is will hill. no above-average players. Any competent qb can put up 30 points on us like rivers just did. that is why we cannot reach the sb this season and why dean pees is handcuffed. If he blitzes and uses creativity, he runs the risks of getting burned for a big play. So he plays it safe and hopes the offense makes a mistake by playing zone.

The man is doing the best with what he has. The loss of jimmy smith was and still is the nail in the coffin for the 2014 ravens.

Anyone who blames Flacco or anyone on the offense for that matter is crazy, THIRTY THREE POINTS. TEN POINT LEAD LATE IN THE FOURTH. The defense should be ashamed.

All our early round picks go to defense. And for what?

Yea letting go of Cary Williams was a big mistake. Him and Harbaugh had issues as well as I think the front office thought he was an on field problem...but dammnit if it he isnt good. Losing Jimmy Smith to injury again is getting old too. Dude is the Derrick Rose of CBs

One thing for sure. Elam is awful. I dont have words for how bad. He just tackles WRs running downfield without the ball...does he think it Wont be Seen?

And once again I state our defensive line is overrated.

That was suppose to be another line that we were suppose to beat up on and destroy but noooo. Dummervil doesn't even know where he's lined up at half the time.

Their line was banged up.we knew they would use lots of intermediate and quick routes and they still had the corners 10 yds off the WRs.

fire dean pees. its that simple.

I will have more to vent about this week if we don't do to him what we did to Cam to save our Super Bowl season. We fired Cam and our O came to life for that Super Bowl run. We may not be able to put together another SB run by firing Pees but it would give us a chance to see what we have on our coaching staff and see if anyone in house can be better than Pees.

who cares about the playoffs

you want to go against brady or manning with THIS SECONDARY?!?!

Plus if we go to the playoffs we end up picking between 21-24, and if we somehow manage to win in the Wild Card Round then 25-28, and that means losing out on a top young corner.

Why did we have linebackers covering Antonio Gates all game long?

He lit us up in the first half, and the first drive of the second half Pees was calling the exact same defense.

Our D-Line can only do so much.

Bench Elam, gut the secondary, and fire Pees in the offseason - regardless of whether we make the playoffs, don't make, or even win the Superbowl. Our D needs to be powerful, and our D-Line can only do so much!

I'm proud of Joe and the offense today, really happy that Jacoby had a breakout game.

Furious with our D though. Doom is an outstanding player, he should know better.

Hate to pile it on Elam right now (not really), but if he'd actually made that INT on that I believe 2nd to last SD drive, we would've probably won. Dude came up after that play like he made the defensive play of the year.

10-6 or 9-7 seems pretty likely at this point, with loses to Miami and maybe Houston. Playoffs is all up to chance now, and either way with this defense, we aren't going anywhere. Our team is almost, but not quite there. Need to get Jimmy Smith back and draft some corners. I for one am impressed with Flacco's playing lately; not a whole ton of yardage, but he's getting his job done and hasn't thrown any picks since the @ Pittsburgh game. Sure, offense should have scored more touchdowns than field goals, but the game is still 95% on the defense.
