Next up: SanDiego Chargers

Chris Watt has had playing time this season and he started at Center last week for the game Vs. the Rams ( He had a good game) And our back field is playing good (they were even better with Verrett before he got IR'ed) were actually pretty healthy and got back our key players that were hurt....Sounds like you guys have a lot of bad info on the talent and health of the 2014 Chargers.

I LoL'ed at the Ravens guy who said which back field is better? Flowers, Wright, Weddle, Addae, Gilchrist are holding it down pretty good for us...While the Ravens have a bunch of UDFA's playing back there

Meanwhile we also got our main Pass rushers back ( part of the reasons we don't have many sacks, We've had a handful of 2-3rd stringers and practice squad guys filling in for them

Anyways....This should be a tough game in B-More. Sorry we're gonna put a halt to your WildCard chase ;-)

It's in baltimore.. Honestly not that worried at all about this game

San Diego has trouble tackling.. Forsett should have a great day.. Should see some good YAC from Juice and the old man

Suggs/Doom should get some good one on one matchups against Dunlap/fluker which plays HEAVILY into baltimore's favor.. Assuming SD gives rookie center a little extra help to deal with McPhee and B Will

Pass rush will take the pressure off of secondary. Same as last week

Me too. That was not a good showing. I met Adam Jones at the tailgate though, so that was fun.

well atleast there's that. When Torrey scored that garbage time TD I jumped up and and got the death stare haha

My trouble with this game is caused by the fact that the Ravens had trouble winning against a 4-6 team last week that is now 4-7. Except for the Browns and Steelers, all wins have been against teams with losing records. Atlanta, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Tennessee, and Carolina.

I've watched the Ravens struggle against better teams like Steelers, and colts and lose twice to the Bengals. I am not convinced the offense or defense is on track the way they should be and many of us believe. There is still time and there are signs that they can get it together but I need to be convinced before I begin speaking confidently about winning.

Come on Ravens, convince me with a solid win.

I don't see why people were talking about NO as the must win game with this on the schedule right after. Both teams are 7-4, but currently San Diego is the wild card. If the Ravens win, they take that wild card. This is the game they cannot lose

I think they need this win, and prove they can win against a team from outside the division that has a winning record; they missed with the Colts. Hopefully, today  they change that little fact.

I agree. This is a HUGE game, followed by another must win @Miami.

Given that Cinco gets Tampa, and Pit gets New Orleans at home, the Ravens need this one to keep pace. It's tight quarters right now, but if we can get the next two wins, we'll be in great position to take the division

Steve Smith  vs Brandon Flowers will be a GREAT matchup all day.

They will...  Our front 7 is gonna haunt Rivers all day long.....

I just wanted to add that this WILL be a close game. We all know games are won in the trenches. Our center is playing this position for the first time this season. But he does play it very well... but against Haloi Ngata on the road he may make some mistakes. Conversely, Ravens fans are SEVERELY underestimating the effect of the Chargers Dline. I saw on NFL playbook how Yanda was moving the DE in the 3-4 against the saints a yard to 2 yards down the field. Now this isn't homerism... but that just isn't going to happen against Corey Liuget. Liguet was second to only JJ watt in passes batted down and on the other side Dwiight Freeney is still getting it done with explosive speed. Furthermore, Manti Teo is a very good run stuffer but he is not Sideline to sideline. This would favor speed backs like jamal charles Darren Mcfadden etc. Power backs though do not fare as well. But, Brandon Flowers more than makes up for this as he makes plays in the run game like a pro bowl corner would. The Chargers pass defense is the best I've seen in almost a decade. Their have been alot of health issues with the Chargers but this shouldn't affect the Chargers Pass defense in this game as it did when we had vereett flowers teo butler all out on defense like against the broncos for instance.

Alot of people are pointing out the Chargers haven't played as well since starting 5-1. But they are 2-3 with a two winning stream since. This is a team on the upswing. The Chargers put up over 400 yards of offense last week against a very dominant rams dline and defense. Rivers playing through injury may have not recovered completely yet but he did complete 2 long passes that were called back last week. Still it is apparant he is not 100 percent. Ryan Matthews makes a serious difference in the run game. IF he can stay in the game the Chargers should be able to control the clock against any team. My prediction for this game is Chargers 27 Ravens 21.

Welcome, and good points. There are a lot of people here who love talking football with other fans.

As far as the Yanda thing goes, he is definitely a pro bowl caliber lineman, and on more than one occasion this week, people here have been talking about Liuget..he's a disruptive player and that Is going to be one heck of a battle! So just because NFLN was talking Yanda..WE who actually watch all of the games know it's going to be a great matchup.

I think you alluded to our backs being power runners, and that isn't entirely true. Really, we use 3 backs at times and all are almost entirely different. Forsett is more of a speed back, which is why he's doing so well in this zone system, Bernard Peirce is more of a between the tackles runner but does have a 2nd gear when he gets in the open field..not blazing speed though. Lorenzo Taliaferro is the bruiser of the bunch.

That said, not underestimating the Charger's front 7 one bit..they are very good.

One thing that I will just throw out there though is that you make a like of We be team A and they are good, so we can beat team B as well. That simply isn't true as we see week to week in the NFL.

If I were San Diego, I would throw the ball 50 plus times before leaning.on Ryan Matthews..he's good but stopping the run is just what we do here. Our rookie MLB Mosley is going to be a star, and Daryl Smith is nothing if not solid and consistant week in and week out. Our D line/OLB's need no introduction..

So if I were a betting man, i'd take the Ravens run defense over the San Diego run game.

Our safeties are really the weak link in our defense and regularly get caught napping. Will HIll seems so far to have at least solidified part of that problem, but still needs to improve.

This Ravens defense only allows 10.5 points per game at home, which is the best in the league at home, and have had one of the if not the best home records since Harbaugh has been here. One thing that can not be underestimated is that it is extremely difficult for visiting teams to win here, and usually when that does happen, it's a familiar foe within the division.

I think your predicted score was close, but Baltimore wins this game 23-20

Sorry, but you sound like WalterFootball with his circadian rhythm conspiracies. These guys are in arguably the best shape of anyone on the planet, and have arguably the best professionals monitoring their schedules - and have a lot more experience in that kind of thing than you or I. If I can adjust to an 18-hour time shift in one night (twice), a professional athlete should be able to adjust to a four-hour shift in two nights or they have no business being a professional athlete.

One trip and you are the source expert.  I've been all over the world more than I care to list, time zones are not easy to adjust to.  When you landed after your 18 hour time shift, I'm certain you didn't play pro sports.  You definitely were not working on week 13 of an NFL season.  It all adds up, or you can just broad stroke as no big deal.

But sure, I'm the only one making this point:

Game Preview: Ravens v. Chargers

Fast Start

It's not easy for teams to come from the West Coast, and the Chargers have been lethargic before in that situation. They got stomped by the Miami Dolphins, 37-0, earlier this season when they had to make the cross-country trip and play a 1 p.m. game. If the Ravens can continue their momentum from Monday Night Football and start fast, they could roll over the Chargers.

I like Liuget and yea he'll prolly beat Zuttah up the middle once or twice and cause flacco to have to rush a throw but I'm not worried at all about him vs yanda

To beat the Ravens, the chargers will have to do it through the air. Matthews won't get much against our front 7.

If the Ravens offense continues in the direction it has been heading, I don't see the chargers having much of a chance in Bmore.

Here's to an injury free, head banging win for the Good Guys.  Buckle up those chin straps!

I got a gypsy feeling they will lose today. I'm usually right 99% of the time.  Can't give How they lose it, but a loss is coming.

Yes, I teased an old person today, so I have a feeling we're not winning a game for a while, and I'm going to age rather quickly.

Will Hill is gonna be an important matchup on Gates. If he plays as well as he did last week it'll take away a dangerous weapon. I believe the Chargers will have no run game but we'll give up some yardage thru the air but we'll be able to stop them in the redzone(Hill on Gates) and limit them to FGs. Ravens 26 Bolts 16.

I think we win today and win big. It's just a hunch. I really think this game will be over by the third quarter.

The smart ones here know how much trouble you all usually give us.  I don't think this game will be easy at all.

Why does it seem like your team can never stay healthy?

SD is cursed that's why. And no I'm not joking.
