Now for a few others. I'm going to try to avoid the obvious Forset post.

I'm wondering if Monroe is still having that knee bother him. A lot of the times I'm seeing him get beat, it's purely because he's not getting out wide quickly enough or the defender is so much faster off the snap, despite not being an explosive player (Harrison). He just looks slow, and given his athleticism and incredible shape, I have to think he's still injured.

Will Hill was tremendous. I know he gave up the garbage time TD on a route that Brees and Graham have almost perfected in the red zone, so I don't care about that. He continually went head to head, one on one with Graham and won. Three pass reflections and really limited Graham to short, non explosive plays.

I know no one will give Pees praise, but he deserves it. The defense as a whole played really well. They gave up a few big plays, which is where a lot of Brees's yards came from, but for the most part, that Saints' offense was held in check. Pees actually dialed up good pressure and was forcing Brees to move around quite a bit and didn't allow Brees to look down field in the second half. It's a big reason he had like 75 passing yards for the first 28 minutes of the second half. Give Pees credit. He took away the deep passes, brought heat, and forced Brees to check it down far more than he'd probably like.

I know a lot of people were hating on Elam for that touchdown, but I wasn't disappointed in his play. He didn't stand out positively or negatively. On the touchdown, it was just a great throw against a smaller defensive back to a larger receiver. Brooks needed to go attack that ball and not play hesitantly.

Finally, Webb gets torched so much. I don't understand how guys can get behind him so much. He is so slow to flip his hips and start running with the receiver. He's got great speed, as shown by him chasing players down, but he needs to get turned up field faster.

I do agree that Webb is getting beat deep on go patterns too often, but the one early in the game is almost entire on Will Hill.

Frankly, in most situations, you would expect a WR to get at least a step or two on a corner if he's running a post or a sideline go route, just based on technique and speed alone.

But Will Hill completely misplayed that long pass early in the game. He's got the deep middle as his assignment, and he started in the right direction, but for some reason bit down on the post cut thinking that the WR was going to stop. He completely guessed wrong on the anticipation and it burned us.

Hill was great in coverage on Graham and in run support, but he still wasn't particularly great with his deep assignments at FS, which can lead to much bigger problems if not corrected.

Brooks, Brooks, Brooks.....attack the ball in the air and stop trying to "fair catch" interceptions!!!!

Harbaugh ripped him pretty good on the sideline after that play.

Not sure where to post this, so I'll try here.

Help me.  I don't understand why the Ravens are ranked (on NFL.COM) higher than the Steelers.  According to NFL.COMs tiebreaking rules, the following applies:

1st: Overall Record (Tied at 7-4)

2nd: Head-to-Head Record (Tied at 1-1)

3rd: Conference Record (Steelers 2-2, Ravens 2-3)

At this point, the ranking should be set with the Steelers on top.  (I'm a Ravens fan, so I'm not rooting for Pittsburg ... just trying to understand the stats.)  Why are the Ravens #2 in the division instead of #3?   Where is my logic flawed?????

lol...... Brooks looked like he was fielding a punt. He won't like watching that tape.

Elam looked like he was swatting a fly on that play...

lol maybe, maybe not. but he can catch touchdowns like Aiken probably can't. but that Aiken recover was like textbook on how they want receivers to attack the ball in the air.

It was a very good onside kick.Aiken made an incredible play on the ball.

I really hope that ref crew isnt assigned to a playoff game. They were horrid. Good win in enemy territory though .

The Saints had a huge advantage in calls in this game and we still won .

Im still shaking my head why one of the Saints players who kicked Monroe wasn't flagged. The ref saw it and did nothing but jump in between the two.

Ray Lewis gets to rub the Ravens win in Trent's face.

That's what you get for picking the Saints over us Dilfer.

I loved how Ray after the game said it was a big Ravens DEFENSIVE win.

Didn't Brees throw for over 400 yards? LOL.

Torrey played with fire and intensity, especially towards the end. Awesome. Let Sr rub off on him.

You guys who were so optimistic about Will Hill coming off suspension were dead on. He's gonna be a key to any run we can make. I didn't doubt him, I just underestimated how big of an impact he would have. Huge.

What if Justin Forsett ends up leading the AFC in rushing this year? After all the madness at that position this year...

Torrey got angry with some of the cheap shots by the Saints. He played more physical than at any other time this season.

Torrey Smith looked like a different receiver out there...... If he keeps that up the rest of the way

yeah, I noticed him

Fired and amped up. I was surprised. But I like this torrey smith. It probably hit him that his a UFA Next year. Play for that contract torrey!

Elam plain stinks and doesn't have an instinctive bone in his body.

He is a bust .You cannot teach instincts.

Hate to agree with this, buuuttttt.....

His instincts are lacking and his football IQ seems VERY low.

On Pees-- I read that he gave a fiery halftime speech to the defense expecting a better performance. I'm hoping Pees keeps letting the boys play like they did yesterday.

I liked the play where he shoved the guy off of him and got an extra 5-10+ yards.  I think it was towards the end of the game.  He looked pumped.

With the win, Flacco tied Ben Roethlisberger for 2nd most regular season wins in the first 7 years of a QB's career (69 wins).  1 more win this season would get him to 70, tying Tom Brady's record.  2 more wins this season gets the record all to himself.  Interesting how good the Ravens have been for 7 years since Harbaugh & Flacco came to town.

Yes, he did.  But Ray was talking about the Ravens defensive mentality during the game.  They were aggressive and it paid off.  A goal line stance and a pick 6 does a lot for the mentality of the defense.  Hopefully, they'll pick it up after last night's performance.

Those tiebreakers are for two teams in a tie, but in our case it's actually three (Cleveland has the same record as both Pitt and us). In a three-way division tiebreak, the tie is first broken by the team with the best record in games against the other two. We are 2-1 against Cle/Pitt, Pitt is 2-2 against Cle/Bal, Cleveland is 1-2. Hope this makes sense.

Yes it does.  THANKS.  I was hoping my logic was flawed .... otherwise we would truly be in third place.  Glad to see my ignorance keeps us in second place.  :-)

I was saying in another thread earlier how this situation needs to be watched. If the Steelers keep winning, it almost makes sense for us to root for the Browns to do the same because we win the three-team tiebreak, but lose head-head with Pitt. Keeping the Browns even with us both helps us remain ranked higher.

Yeah but Joe had a good defense and run game for some of those years, so it doesn't count.

At least he was in a position to make a play. That is more than we can say about pretty much everyone else in the secondary (*cough...Webb...*cough...)

Webb's hustle on the sweep prevented a Saints TD on the very 1st opening drive.  It happens!

Flacco was 13 of 17 for 222 yds and td against the blitz. Best performance in his carrer against the blitz stats wise according to espn

He was much more comfortable. The Kubiak self-evaluation of the offense during the bye was huge.
