Taliaferro vs Carlos Hyde

Where has he been? Not complaining since Forsett's been tearing it up, just wondering.

Definitely rather see him than Pierce.

Edit: Although it seems most of the time when Pierce is in, the o line struggles to block or the play call is too predictable.

Or we try to run pierce to the outside, in which he isn't that type of back and gets tackled for a loss were he could have gotten a nice gain upfield.

well when pierce is in you can bet its a run lol.

 

with forsett you have to worry about PA and him becoming a receiver alot.

As stated earlier the Jernigan pick was praised by nearly every draft analyst except a few posters on this board.

As for Lorenzo to me he has been a disappointment. He looked good in the Cleveland game and had the chance to win the job outright. However since then he has lost carried to pierce in my eyes because of a lack vision and not decisively hitting the hole with burst. I'd even say he regressed there thus his lack of playing time.

I don't recall any draft analysts mentioning Hyde to us unless it was strictly on a BPA ( with their draft rater ). However I do recall many on ESPN questioning the Jernigan pick due to him being more of a DT, fit for 4-3 system. And I didn't understand why they felt he couldn't play within the Ravens since we play a variety of packages. Given Jernigan's strength and leverage I thought he would still see success.

Although I was happy with the Jernigan pick I really wanted to snag a WR in the 2nd.

Taliaferro's production took a hit when he fumbled vs Steelers, because before then his carries were up and down game to game, his pass protection is improving.

Taliaferro looked much more decisive today. A good sign to see for him.

The analysis supports my hypothesis that he's consistently making the wrong reads and hitting the wrong holes. The thing is, though, when he hits the right hole, he can look like a top five back. His vision is the only thing holding him back.

That would make a lot of sense, BP played with a chip on his shoulder at the end of the game today. It's apparent to me that he feels like he could be starting (From his body language) When he thought he scored in the 4th quarter he didn't celebrate or give high 5's, he just got off the field.
